Diving off the west side of Maui is great! Pacific Dive was where I attained my open water certification. One day earlier, I had tried snorkeling for the very first time and I was on my diving the next! The couple who own this shop are very friendly! Originally from Long Island, they were very attentive in my needs as a newbie diver. Getting certified from Hal in 2005 was one of my greatest accomplishments. Over the course of two days, Hal made an excellent teacher. There were a few instances where I really thought I wasn’t going to make it and he was so calm and understanding. I would go back to Pacific Dive in a heartbeat! The shore excursions are key for me as I get sea sick from boat outings! This shop is organized and right next door to one of my favorite restaurants, Gerard’s.

What can I say about this amazing place? The customer service was top notch and believe me, they made sure that you were happy with the gear and gave you locations to go to. I don’t know how to dive, but half the people in my group did and I watched how they made sure everyone in our group was well taken care of. I was stoked to find a hat made of neoprene to wear while surfing =) Even though it says, «DIVE» on it, I really didn’t care. The other half of my group, including me, rented snorkel gear and through their friendliness and generosity, only charged me for one set, when we rented 3. The prices were a bargain to begin with and I felt bad for them not charging me full price since this is a «mom and pop» shop. They told me repeatedly to not worry, in their laid back fashion, and I just had to smile. I would highly recommend this dive shop. Happy diving or snorkeling =)
