Anytime I purchase something from a local business, I’m opted to review the business on Unilocal. At least that’s been my motto for a while. I’ve stopped at this Subway location in West Maui for at least 3 times while staying on the west side of Maui for a bunch of marathons from 2011 –2015, and the latest time was recently in January 2016, which have their finish line in Lahaina town or in nearby Kaanapali hotel complex. It had always been a budget friendly affair when it comes to dining out on Maui, especially when you’re paying resort rates at times and need to balance out the budget a little by tightening up the belt when it came to food options, especially when you’re a local trying to island hop and hop often. This Subway restaurant offers fresh alternatives to what the hotels in the area will serve, but at a lower budget friendly price that I’m used to seeing on a daily basis. Plus, it’s a good healthy option for those people who want that option to — while on the go or on vacation. This place puts a smile on my face. This Subway restaurant is located on Honoapiilani Highway(highway 30) in the heart of Lahaina. Nearby is the Lahaina Cannery Mall and that’s kind of relative. This subway restaurant is in a small cul de sac along the highway. You can miss it if you’re speeding along the highway trying to get to your hotel. Like most Subway restaurants that I’ve been to, this one in West Maui /Lahaina is clean and comfortable, yet small enough to just order your food and opt to take it back with you to your hotel. As mentioned before, subway restaurants is known to be comparable to others in Hawaii, as in terms of how they price their 6 inch and footlong sandwiches. Only on the mainland, where $ 5 footlong is the rule and $ 6 footlong is the starting price point in locations throughout Hawaii. They accept major credit cards, which is always a plus, except when the machine is down. You can get your sub anyway you want and the service here had been pretty impeccable, good, and positive with me each time I stop by here. For what it was worth, my most recent stop here at this Subway restaurant had me at a footlong tuna sub with all the vegetables. Cheddar cheese shredded and spinach. No sauce or dressing and just pepper and oregano. Along with 4 cookies, I had a feast that was about $ 10 and it was better than an entrée at any hotel restaurant in Lahaina or anywhere north of there, as it can get ridiculously pricey for a simple dinner. Thankful for non hotel restaurants — fast food or otherwise, who can provide great options for those who are local and for the traveling visitor who doesn’t want to pay a lot for dining while on vacation. The overall experience here was as good as you can get, for fast food places and Subway. It’s on your way to Kaanapali or Kapalua, but relatively close by to Lahaina town /Front Street, where you can walk over, but you wouldn’t want to. Eat Fresh! Support local! B+

Come here every one in while, usually has decent customer service. Came her today, seen one of their regular workers(nice, older Filipina) & two other staff members who were also older, but so rude! They gave us a hard time & one top of leaving they didn’t wrap the sandwiches well which cause them to fall out! Such a disappointment, but I’ll be coming back because of the Filipina worker.

Best sandwich ever! We we last night after a long day at the beach. Zoe made the best subway sandwich I have ever had. The ingredients were fresh and the bread was soft. Will probably be during our stay.

Eating on the island of Maui can be expensive. When you’re in Lahina, Subway provides you with some terrific lunch options at what seems to be a tremendous value, especially when compared to hotel food. I think it’s safe to say you can get a lunch for 25% of the cost of the hotel lunch. Subway is not considered a gourmet dining spot; however, it does provide a good variety of menu items and you can customize your sandwich to your liking. You should be able to find something to satisfy everyone in your party. Make your lunch a combo meal to go then head out to the park or to the beach and dine on a Subway sandwich in paradise. Salute!

One star is still to many stars for this Subway. It’s located close to my studio, which is the only reason I gave it one star. The staff is unfriendly and unable to make a salad per instructions. Reminder to self«stay way from this Subway»!

A great place to grab lunch or dinner(if they’re open) and an awesome alternative to burgers and fries!

Can’t complain with subway. Nice for a quick and easy lunch while in Lahaina. The employees were nice and the menu had the usual. Went next door for a ukelele after the sandwich!

Quick and generously made gets extra star. I have been there twice during my vacation and found good. I guess everyone is aware that what subway has to offer :)

Although this particular location is always busy, the line moves right along. I had the Philly Cheese Steak Foot Long today, rated at just 500 calories, delicious.

For the sake of all that is holy, avoid this place like the plague. The staff was rude, crude, and devoid of class. And they were astonishingly chintzy with the sandwich gubbins.

When it’s time to leave Maui, my father(don’t wag that finger at me, Unilocalers) maniacally insists on going to Subway for an «on-board» sandwich. I don’t normally seek the, um, flavors of Subway, but this is not only a convenient location for all the north-western Maui folks, the people who worked at this Subway were very kind and attentive. I decided to get a Roast Beef and Bacon with Provolone. Gots me the Italian Herb and Cheese bread; although I saw they added a Garlic-lovers bread, or something, which spiked my curiosity. The hoagie, despite being doused in oil and vinegar(Yeah, I’m f – king shameless), held up well until I wolfed it down in front of many famished, sad-eyed, fellow-non-First-Class onlookers. The taste was almost as delightful as the palpable envy in the flight cabin. SUPERBONUS: They had a flavor SunChips I’d never seen, «Monteret Jack and Sundried Tomato.» Had I not spent my last dime on a huge bag of Salt-n-Vinegar Lay’s, I’d have gotten them. :( Considering last year we went all around Lahaina and Kahului looking for a forkin’ Subway with NO results, this year our luck was better. And the sandwich was also better than the crap we were subjected to last year, from Quizno’s. Since my father is a creature of habit, I think we’ll be back. And if those chips are still there, hear me now: I will get them. Oh yes… I WILL get them.
