My boyfriend I were playing tourist in Lahaina yesterday and decided to pop in to whalers jewelry at 12:15 as we were walking by. Both doors were wide open with the signs in front, we started browsing and I noticed that the sales associate was in the front window talking loudly on her phone, glancing up at us from time to time but not actually acknowledging us even once with a «Hi». We made our way through the whole store checking out every case and ended up at a case near the window she was standing in talking, when all of a sudden the lady decided to take a break from her conversation to yell«I’m Not Open!». Us being completely confused considering we had just spent the last 5 minutes wandering around the store and knowing that she had seen us earlier(and that it was 12:15) replied«uhhhh ok, you want us to leave?» To which she replied«yes!». The whole exchange was unprofessional and rude. I would never go back or recommended anyone else. Here’s some tips: If you’re not open– don’t open your doors to a busy street. If you still want to open your doors and not be open– get off the phone if a unknowing customer walks in to your store and say«I’m sorry, we’re not open right now but will be open in X minutes» If you can’t do either of those things you probably shouldn’t be working in customer service.

I needed to get my Breitling watch band changed and looked up on Breitling website where a authorized dealer was located in Maui. Tin Dian the owner was there and changed my band for me free! They have two locations and the one I was at was the store in Whalers Village. I will definitely go back for any new jewelry or watch purchases.

Went in to see Amy today and again she had something nice for my wife. We have been buying watches and jewelry from them for years and Amy always has something new for my wife or daughters. My wife found a Tag Hauer watch I believe she is going back to get. They are always very friendly and have great prices. Also visit their store at Whalers Village.

I had wanted to get a nice watch for my husband for our 10th anniversary. We wandered into Whaler’s Fine Jewelry at Whaler’s Village and saw Tin. He was great. After some going back and forth, hubby decided on the watch he wanted. Tin gave us a phenomenal price on it. I can’t wait to go back and do some more shopping. Visited August 2014

Amy and her husband Tin only get a star as we cannot give less. The are very sweet and welcoming until you find that the $ 2500 piece of cable and«gold» you’ve bought is defective and falls apart after just one day!!! Then Tin they refused to acknowledge that what they sold was defective. Instead Amy accused us of buying it to wear it and return it. Considering that both my husband and I are business owners and both very successful, that’s pretty. In addition to that, I bought another $ 5k from another jeweler the same day with no issues. Bottom line — stay away from these people. They also have another location at Whalers Village. Same people. They have proven to be dishonorable liners with no integrity. It has totally soured buying any jewelry from these small Front street guys.

Great selection, prices and amazing service(especially considering that it’s a tourist town). After having couple of drinks, my wife took me to the store, so I didn’t have my typical shopping mood, which is a good thing. Amy at the store was very nice and sweet and we ended up talking and laughing for about half an hour. We bought a south sea pearl necklace(yes, I learned that in the store) and another necklace with Tahitian pearl and white pearl. We went for some more drinks while Amy was wrapping up the gifts, came back, paid and left after cracking few more jokes at the store. My wife was happy, I felt that I did not overpay and had more money for more drinks and that’s where we went. Few months after arriving back to Los Angeles, we(no, not my idea for sure but it’s a «WE» after you get married, I guess) realized that it would be nice to have matching earrings. I took a photo of what we had, emailed to Amy, asked her to pick something out, she sent me some pictures back. Now, I’m sitting home waiting for the delivery. Great customer service in the store and months after purchase. I’m sure we’ll be back to the store next time we are in town at the very least to say high and to say thank you in person.

What a wonderful experience it was to shop at this jewelry store! Tin was the best as I made my selections. He even made sure my ring was resized prior to my departure! I came home with some real treasures.

Bought a Hamilton Jazzmaster Open Heart Watch on Black Friday with a «throw in» 14k charm for my wife’s bracelet. Honestly, I wasn’t planning on buying a watch at all… in fact, I told my wife not a day or two before that I didn’t need a new watch. But I scored a great deal on a great watch and now my children won’t have to fight over who gets dad’s watch when he kicks off. I won’t disclose what I paid(I don’t like to set expectations for other people), but I will tell you that I bought the same watch(different color face) at the bottom of the recession in St Thomas 3 years ago(tax free), and — assuming keystone pricing on the charm — this time around I paid about the same price for the watch after tax and inflation. Difference is, the negotiation took about an hour in St Thomas, it took less than five minutes with Tin. Go see Tin. Haggle with him until he gives you a fair price. Know the spot price of gold before you go in, and ask him to weight whatever piece you have your eye set upon. He’s a very friendly man and — unlike most jewelry store clerks in tourist areas — isn’t put off by an educated buyer. Then again, if you have no clue about what you’re buying(and what it’s worth), I sincerely hope Tin cracks open a bottle of champagne in your honor after closing time.

The staff is friendly and helpful. In the store to browsing around and admire the fine pieces without the pressure of a sale. It’s worth the time to stop in and look around, you might find something you like.
