John, from Mile High Pool Co, came to give us a quote for our pool the 3’rd week of June, 2015. He had the charm and smoothness of Grandpa Walton, whom he looks like. He said he wouldn’t just rig the pool to get it going-like we suggested, but would only do it the right way and gave us a quote for 13K. He said the pool needed total renovation. When questioned he said he was the only certified pool company on the mountain and that he had a crew, assuring us it was a 2 week job, but they couldn’t start until the week after the 4’th of July. So after he got authorization from the land lord, the Thursday after the 4’Th, a crew he subcontracted came and jack hammered the finish off the pool. We were so excited. The summer was young, the weather hot, we couldn’t wait to jump in the pool! The next stage of the job would be John’s crew coming in and replacing the stone tiles around the top of the pool and hot tub and laying 2 rows of blue tiles under that. Sounded pretty simple, cut and dried. It should have been. However, for the next 4 months John, his son, or John and his son showed up once a week and worked for approx. 1 – 2 hours each time. Yeah, the crew was an old man who looks like he’s pushing 70 and his punk kid who looks to be pushing 40, who showed up in moto cross clothes(grow the f*@# up), seeming annoyed that he had to work. There was one excuse after another in the beginning, then there was no attempt to even offer one, I guess they’d run out. And, no amount of complaining to the land lord nudged these losers to complete the work. Finally, early November they finally had the tiles laid and tried to talk the land lord into waiting to fill the pool. We insisted he finish the job, as we suspected he would disappear come spring. So he sub contracted for a crew to come spray the finish. Again, we were excited, there should be a few more sunny days above 60 degrees, so with a heated pool we couldn’t wait! You guessed it, the tank leaked and gushed water – for A MONTH! John knew it the day he hooked everything up, yet he disappeared for a month. The land lord authorized a new tank, but John wouldn’t come replace it, so the land lord refilled the pool at least twice with the spillage and we incurred a 750 dollar gas/electric bill to keep heating and pumping a constantly filling pool. We thought about shutting off the heat, but were told to heat it so the finish would cure. Dec 8, 2015, John replaced the tank and within hours everything shut down. 48 hours later a freeze was expected and when he came out to get it up and going he, or his son, didn’t really know what’s wrong. Say what? He left this pool to freeze that day, telling us to tell the land lord to call an electrician. These pool experts are a SHAM! They are unscrupulous-John joked with my son that he was lucky that the land lord agreed to everything he wanted to do, and spend money on. He’s a liar-he had no crew, and it seems he never intended to do the 2 week job in 2 weeks. John is incompetent-he did a lousy uneven job on the one small part he had in the renovation job, to lay tile around the top. He used the wrong tiles in places, and they are not level. John is a slob-he left the old tank and never cleaned up the several piles of rubbish, though he said they would. I WOULDNOTTRUSTTHESETWOSCAMMERSTOTOUCH A POOL – NOTEVENTOMAINTAINITANDADDCHEMICALS!
