This was our first time coming here and the food was very good. We had the meat lovers specialty pizza and sidewalk fries. I will definitely be coming back again. Server was very friendly.

The Silo has been around for as long as I can remember. I grew up with it as the primary pizza place for my family. Their deep dish is to die for. We always get the supreme because it’s got a taste of everything. If you’re looking for something without meat though, try the Frisco. It’s a great substitute. And if you want to dine at home, they have the option of pizza pick-up.

We go to the Silo about once a year when we are in town from MN, and look forward to it every time. Their personal pan pizzas are so gooood — I love their pizza crust! Their service has always been good for us!

I came in a week ago with a group of 20 or so for a going away party for a co-worker. Food was great and the server was very patient given the large group. I can’t wait to go back and try some of the great food I saw my friends get. Highly recommend for a quick bite or a large gathering!

Customer service here is like TSA agents… rude. We came in with a big group, 3 of us decided to sit at an open table next to the big L table(combined tables), this server yelled at us and said she wanted to keep all of us at the same big table, but the big table only fits 20 ppl, and we had 30 ppl in our group. When she brought the drinks to us, she wasn’t patient enough to wait for ppl’s response and told us not to use our phones. Won’t be returning.

Thought that a trip to the Silo would be an appropriate reward after clearing the fallen tree’s that I had climbed as a child at my parents from the snow a few weeks back. Right call for sure. It has been decades since I last walked through the familiar door that greeted me so many times as a child when walking up. Potato skins and their signature pizza were great, lighting was a little brighter than I remember(but that could just be the rose coloured glasses of childhood memories), quick and friendly service made for a happy return. I think I need to make a habit of visiting the old delicious haunts, that are still open of course.

I read some negative reviews posted by people complaining about the new ownership, however, I liked that one of the new owners took the time to personally respond to the complaints and concerns, and for that reason I wanted to give them a shot. Unfortunately I won’t have that opportunity. Despite this restaurant advertising that they are open until 10:00PM, at 9:25 they had already closed the kitchen. Who does that? Not anyone wanting to attract and retain customers. I realize there is a payroll to make, but you can’t make money if you aren’t selling food. In spite of slow nights and low sales, customers still want reliability and dependability. They don’t want to wonder if when they show up will they be served. I will try again, but right now I am a dissatisfied customer. I hope the new owners read this review and take this into consideration.

Hosted an event here about a week ago in the upstairs loft/sitting area. The owners, Dave and Leslie were great about communication leading up to the event and were very flexible in working with our budget and our party size. The day of the event, there were a few hiccups with service, but our two waiters Antonio and Roberto quickly sorted out the issues. Everyone loved the food and the atmosphere was perfect for a laid back mixer. We will definitely be going back! If you haven’t tried the Silo, please do!!! Stand out pizzas were the Frisco, Vegetarian, and Grilled Garlic Chicken thin crust pizzas :)

What a delightful experience. I had not been to the silo in over a year and they knocked it out of the park. Our drinks from Rolf the bartender were perfectly mixed Long Island iced tea and one of the best margaritas on the north shore. Michelle our server was attentive, funny and accommodating. Our appetizer of side walk fries were sinful and the entrees of philly cheese steak and chicken Cesar fold over was awesome. Can’t wait to make this a regular spot to stop once again. Bravo!

AMAZING. That’s really all I have to say. My husband had a German beer recommended by Casi and absolutely loved it, «I don’t remember the name but it’s definitely worth the money». We got the Idaho nachos as an appetizer, WOW. Basically like nachos, melted nacho cheese, lettuce, tomato, shredded cheese, beef but they’re on a bed of fried potatoes. So yummy! My husband got a buffalo chicken turn over, he was barely able to finish half. The portions are HUGE. I got a plain burger, I’m super picky. I stuck to eating the appetizer and took my burger home. Did I mention the portions are HUGE? Definitely my go to place. Good beer, great food and excellent service.

The Silo is under new ownership. It’s not the same. From the minute you walk in the door, it feels like something is missing. You now pay at the table and front register is void of activity. It feels like it’s lost it’s personality. The food is the same, but the help has turned over. It’s hard to put your finger on what is so different. It’s just not the same. I hope the new owners make good choices. They really need to hire some personality to work the front desk. This place has so much potential. Hire a someone who can update the look & feel of its rustic charm. I don’t want to stop liking this place, but I’m afraid it might be too late.

First let me say I’m a local & this is the usual place the neighborhood goes to get a pizza AND our area is just saturated w/pizza places. But something has changed here. The pizza is not that GREAT anymore. Pity. My thin crust cheese w/black olives & mushrooms was accidentally mixed in w/onions & green peppers – not what I ordered. Also, the pizza was not cut property which made the crust chewy and hard to tear away from the rest of the pie. It was cold causing everything on top to harden & it basically lacked that great tomato sauce flavor that always brought me back here. But the main reason I type this was the lousy service at the front desk. QUESTION: Because this place is so busy & basically an institution, is it a requirement for the folks @ the front desk to be rude, like the customer is bothering them or somehow in their way? Wait? Isn’t that their job? To help the customers when they come in for their food? That they purchased? The«kid»(yes he was) rang me up but didn’t hand me my food. He swung the apple register around like he was super cool & proceeded to help the person next to me, reminding me to add tip while forgetting to hand me my food. He then moved on to the lady standing next to me saying«goodbye.» Was I supposed to reach behind the desk & grab my own food? Is that how this place works now? His attitude reflected one of that the customer is annoyance. Hey kid, that’s your job & drop the tude.(And this I’ve noticed several times w/other staff copping that same tude at the front desk) And for that reason I will stop going here. The customer service at the front desk sucks. I don’t need to feel like I’m bothering the person who’s supposed to be helping me, especially when I’m paying for it. And I’m not sure what they’ve done to their thin crust. My order was unsatisfactory.

Wanted to try something other than Lou’s. I passed by this location many many times. I Unilocaled it, mixed reviews so I figured I’ll try it for myself. The atmosphere is cute, barnyard style. The service really sucks. I think they know their usuals and locals and the newbees don’t get treated the same. We split their salad and the 3 pans. The pans were dry and salty and small for the price. The waitress didn’t recommend any other pizza options deep dish vs thin crust. Nothing but, whatever you want to try. But for the other tables she conversated and chatted among them. If Silo cleans up their acts and sticks to making one good item maybe I’ll return but for now I’ll keep driving past it with a bad taste in my mouth.

Came here for a late lunch(1:30ish) with two others. Service Server came as we were sitting. Took our order and food came fairly quickly. Server was practically MIA after that. We waited a while just to get to go boxes and our checks Food Food was great! Sidewalk fries as an appetizer. I ordered the taco personal pan pizza, the others Mac and cheese personal pan and 14″ pepperoni. We all left satisfied with the food we ate I will go back again because the food was great!

I went here after having a friend of the family graduate boot camp from NTC Great Lakes. Our waitress was super friendly and funny. For us having a large group of 10 people she handled the entire situation with clam and enthusiasm. We had two graduating sailors at the table and she brought out a complimentary appetizer dish. She said her son was in the Navy and loved having the sailors stop in. The appetizer was an assortment of deep fried food nothing amazing. We all ordered various styles of the Deep Dish Chicago Pizza. I like that they had personal pies(9″) which was great because everyone at the table was able to order their own favorite style as opposed to splitting a pie or two and not really getting the one you wanted. I went for the meat lovers which was great. The pizza packed plenty of cheese and meats along with a good traditional deep dish crust. It was lacking sauce, I personally like my pizza a bit saucy. For dessert we had cheesecake. It was nothing amazing it tasted like costco cheesecake with the typical canned strawberry topping. I give the food three stars but I bumped up the overall rating to 4 stars because the staff was on point, funny and extremely personable.

Great family place — reasonably priced, tasty pizzas with nice service. Nothing fancy. Pizza probably could have a bit more sauce but that’s personal preference.

I love silo. I’ve been here multiple times. We drive about 45 minutes to get here. My family and I went for my 24th birthday and it was probably the best birthday dinner I’ve had. We got a deep dish cheese pizza and a thin mushroom/onion pizza and the four of us almost finished it. We usually just get the pizza because we know it’s so good. Had a couple beers in tall glasses, too. Best part was when my waitress and about 4 other waiters sang happy birthday to me and clapped their metal pizza servers for effect. I was so happy and slightly embarrassed, but in a good way. They even played happy birthday on the speakers. The free brownie with ice cream they gave for us to share was so good too. Love this place!

I have been coming here for years. I love their sidewalk fries. A must get every time I come here. The pizza is amazing. I love their cheese thin crust. It does get very busy on Friday/Saturday night so I suggest coming early or expecting to wait a bit before you are seated. Great place to eat for dinner with family and friends. Casual setting.

3.5 Stars We came here on a Friday evening with a large family group. Some of us arrived early so we sat at the bar and started to have a few drinks while we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. Everyone finally showed up and they had seated us fairly soon after. I had settled our bar tab so my wife and I got up to walk to our table. She had realized that she forgot her drink and when I made it back to the bar it was already gone. It’s hard to blame the bar tender for being efficient but it was a new drink that ended up being poured down the drain. It had been many years since I had been here for pizza but from what I remembered it was all good back then. We all ended up ordering some fried mushrooms as an appetizer which were good and hit the spot. We all ordered our pizzas and they came out pretty quickly. The pizza was good but not what I remembered from years ago. It’s kind of like a really good movie that you liked from your childhood and then you go to watch it many years later and isn’t as you good as you thought it was. It was a fun night to get together with family and the service was was good and attentive. I just wished that they hadn’t tossed out my wife’s drink so fast. It would have been so awesome if they had delivered it to our table instead of tossing it out. I’m not sure that I would go out of my way to come here but who knows.

4 stars on pizza! Ordered the large MEATLOVERSPANPIZZA. A true pan– not deep dish and not thin crust. The crust was perfect! Mouth watering golden crispy on the outside and soft bready chewy on the inside. Evenly hand rolled edges and lightly salted. The pizza was adequately topped with meet and cheese. The tomato sauce was sparse as most of the tomato taste came from chunky stewed tomatoes on each piece. The person next to me at the bar ordered a personal pan and it looked like it was all crust with little toppings so I ordered the large and decided to take the rest home. It says on the menu that a 14″ serves 3 – 4 people. Not a chance… with an above average appetite, me and a good beer drinking buddy could polish the large off with no problem! There was a wide variety of offerings on the menu. The bartender said we’re known for our pizza so I went with that. Some of the items made me wonder if they proudly create it or simply offer it so theu can sell it. Woodsy warm cozy atmosphere with charm indoors. I was comfortable hanging out here. Approachable and unpretentious. I’ll be coming back to this unique find. Next time, I’m interested in trying their award winning chili and maybe the huge loaded baked potato(it better be darn good for 10 bucks!) Overall, the menu is reasonably priced but you have to know what you’re getting. Pizza has the best cost per person. Sandwiches at 10, entrees, pasta, and ribs are 12 –20 bucks. 8 beer taps of mostly domestics, There is a more then adequately stocked bar and wine list.
