Our experience was an enjoyable one with only one small issue. Our server, Sean, was very attentive and highly knowledgable about all things Star Wars. My husband ordered the sustainable catch BLT and found it cooked and seasoned to perfection. I ordered the lobster roll and to my dismay, it was a tad over cooked and bland. Sean instantly noticed my dislike and suggested a few other items instead. Given my husbands delicious sandwich, I ordered that as well. The lunch options are a bit more limited than dinner — as this was our second visit and we have had a wonderful dinner experience here before, but this is an overall good option for seafood lovers. Vegetarians and chicken lovers may find themselves extremely limited.

The Captain’s Grille is the casual dining option inside the Yacht Club Resort. We decided to have breakfast here one day and overall had a good experience. I checked out the buffet and did not really see anything that caught my eye. It is a typical breakfast buffet with eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, cereal, yogurt, etc and around the same price as a breakfast entrée. I went with the Tillamook Cheese Grits and Poached Eggs which contains Pulled Pork Belly, Wilted Spinach, Artisan Bread Croûton, and Bacon Vinaigrette. Overall this is a nice, tasty dish as the pork belly goes quite well with the cheese grits and poached eggs. I would have liked to have more pork belly but then again who doesn’t? There is a large amount of grits so you won’t go hungry — I couldn’t finish. I didn’t care for the vinagrette but otherwise it was good. The wife had the Rock Shrimp Omelet and I must say it was delicious. Again, this was a large entrée that will be sure to fill you up. I was actually surprised at how many shrimp were in the omelette. I probably liked this dish the best. Overall, it was a good, casual meal and would eat here again.

Boyfriend and I popped in here for lunch yesterday, and yeah I don’t think we will be doing that again. We arrived around noon and the place was largely empty, maybe 10 tables with people at them. We were promptly seated. I took a quick glance at the menu and saw A LOT of seafood, so I asked for a kids menu. I don’t eat seafood and since I don’t it would seem my choices for lunch were limited to a sliced beef sandwich, a cheese burger, or a grilled chicken sandwich, none of which sounded great. We started with cocktails. He had a Mai Tai, which was shockingly delicious. I don’t usually like Mai Tais. I had a blue margarita. It was ok, but they didn’t line the rim with salt and this margarita desperately needed that. Boyfriend ordered a salad with scallops and he really enjoyed it, but there were these strange peppers in it that he didn’t really care for. I ordered the kids grilled steak. My steak arrived and my fries were cold and flat. They tasted like they had been sitting out for quite sometime so I sent them back. I’m really glad I did because the new ones our server brought out were fresh, hot, and delicious. They were most definitely the best part of my meal. My steak was soooo overcooked. I know it was a kids steak, but I am not a child so they could’ve asked me how I wanted it cooked. They didn’t and it was well done, very tough. The worst part of it was it had zero flavor. Again, I know it a kids steak, but have you heard of salt and pepper at least? Finally, my kids meal came with a choice of dessert. I could have an ice cream sundae, cupcake push pop, or yogurt push pop. I asked about the sundae, but it was vanilla ice cream with chocolate syrup. I told the waitress I don’t really care for chocolate so I’ll take the cupcake push pop. She then arrived with a chocolate cupcake push pop. I looked at her and said, «Oh, it’s chocolate?» She was like, yeah it changes every day, we never know what we’ll have. So I reminded her that I don’t eat chocolate, which is why I didn’t order the sundae. She went back to get me the yogurt push pop, but returned with a vanilla cupcake push pop. Anyway, the whole concept of a cupcake push pop seems silly and like a waste of plastic to me, but no doubt kids like the idea. The cupcake was pretty solid, but not enough to save this meal. Our service was fine, but not outstanding. Our server disappeared for a significant period of time after our food was brought. We had to get another server to bring new fries and A-1 to help make my steak edible. So next time you are at the Yacht Club and hungry, do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

This place was amazing! The food and service were literally to die for. My family and I came here for my birthday dinner. We typically will try a Disney resort restaurant for the occasion and this place did not disappoint. We were seated on time and our server came over to introduce himself as well as his trainee. They were both prompt in their service and very personable! We never had to look around for them or want for a drink refill. He recommended appetizers and entrees and we all seemed to order exactly what he had described. The atmosphere is rather intimate, with low lighting, soft music and candles on the table. I would not recommend this for kids and yet looking around there were quite a few tables with small children and some were rather unhappy to be there. We ordered the buttermilk fried rock shrimp as an appetizer. It came with a cucumber coleslaw and two dipping sauces, one was a tartar sauce and the other was a creamy chipotle. The fried shrimp were really good! I loved the peppery batter mixed with the chipotle sauce. Not to mention there was plenty to share with the table so the price was worth it. For dinner I had the Cabernet braised short rib that comes with a corn risotto. That meat was so tender and sweet! I never had to use my knife to cut it, it just fell apart. Not to mention it was a huge portion! It literally was one of those melt in your mouth meals. I oddly had enough room for dessert. It was my birthday after all! The Gianduja chocolate cake was mediocre for a Disney dessert but still good. I was expecting cake but got more of a chocolate mousse with caramel drizzled on top with a few candied hazelnuts. Even though the dessert didn’t live up to my imagination’s expectations, everything I had was delicious. Be prepared for this receipt to be very pricy but it’s definitely worth it.

It is tough for me to see such poor reviews for this place when this has always been a favorite. Yes, the menu is not that exciting but I think the interior is very nice and welcoming, and the customer service is phenomenal. I have dined here a few times and always had a pleasant time. This time around I went on my birthday to make it extra special. I had the New York strip which was cooked exactly how I wanted it, and my fiancé had a fish that was outstanding. Flavor is great and the meal was timed perfectly — not too rushed but came right when I was feeling hungry. We also had a wonder shrimp appetizer that came with a few dipping sauces that were extremely tasty. The customer service is what earns this place the 4th star for me. I was running about 20 – 25 minutes late because I was not responsible enough to time my resort bus trip to get there on time. And Disney has the phone system on LOCKDOWN so do not even think of calling the restaurants directly to give them a heads up you’re the a-hole running late. ANYWAY they could care less I was running a little behind and seated me right away. My fiancé had put a drink request in that the bartender said they could make better, but somehow got both versions of the drink(making the one drink free!). And because I made sure Disney knew it was my birthday week my waitress was very thoughtful and brought me out a second dessert with champagne for my fiancé and I. Best thing I can say about this place is Disney has not made it a 2-table service instead of 1-table service point yet, so go before they make it more expensive!

You need a reservation, even for breakfast. There was no price on the menu for the buffet so we didn’t order it. Found out it was $ 22, not bad. The server was outstanding — nice, pleasant, talkative, answered questions about parks, places, menu, etc. This person was hands down the nicest person we have had in the resort and all the parks. Ask for Jeff from Columbus Ohio. The food was okay, a bit greasy for eggs and potatoes, but adequate.

I didn’t try the fish, maybe I should have but what I did try was not that good. –Chicken noodle soup was canned like. –Fries are too thick and potato-ey. –Shaved beef sandwich was very bland. They can do a lot better I hope on the fish and other dishes. Based on the items I had I wouldn’t return.

I went to this restaurant only because it was picked by a group of people I was meeting, and I had no input to the decision. I checked reviews before I went and the experience was exactly as the Unilocalers told me. Interior and décor was nothing special, and the menu was even less special. The gates of Disney mean an automatic 50% upcharge on everything; everyone knows that. Meals were all over $ 20 and the most boring menu imaginable. Only about 8 entrees to choose from(no salads, sandwiches, etc), one for each kind of meat that exists. So if you want chicken, there’s 1 option. Which I would have forgiven, if it tasted good. The chicken was roasted with the skin on and no seasoning, over a bean purée that had no flavor. There were 4 pieces of steamed asparagus draped over the top with 2 roasted tomatoes on the side. There was a drizzle of something that looked like it should have been balsamic glaze around the edge, but it had no flavor as well. Presentation was nice. It’s the only compliment I can give. Someone who sat near me ordered the sirloin and it was only a piece of meat and a cup of mashed potatoes. No vegetables or anything. I can say that our server was very nice. If you want a restaurant that isn’t crowded because no one wants to eat the food, with fancy presentation, no flavor, and a nice wait staff, this is the place for you. And to top it off, if you buy one of their double digit priced drinks, it comes with a flashing LED fake ice cube. Totally makes the overpriced meal worthwhile, right?

During our stay at Disney’ Yacth Club, we had the opportunity to dine at this restaurant for breakfast each day and dinner one night. I am giving it five stars because the wait staff was extremely attentive during each visit and I don’t want punish them with a lower rating. In addition breakfast was good. However dinner was a different story. There were four of us and we ordered the Cabernet Short Rib, Pan Seared Chicken, and the Pan Roasted Lamb. We all found our food to be very salty and not very enjoyable.

My wife, daughter and I popped in here for breakfast on a Sunday morning without a reservation and were initially turned away. Looking on the Disney app, we saw an open reservation in 20 minutes. Go figure?! We returned with our reservation in hand and were promptly seated. The three of us all picked the buffet but one can also order a la carte entrées if desired. Your standard Disney breakfast buffet here sans the characters. I especially enjoyed the waffles and unlimited bacon. Service was attentive but it took a bit for us to get the check probably because of our corner table location.

This place is nothing to tell home about. The food is just okay. My sirloin was actually over cooked but I didn’t want to deal with sending it back. The bread was tasty and the mussels/clams appetizer was okay but probably would not revisit.

I stay at the Yacht Club every year for a work conference. Usually all meals are provided(buffet style) during the conference which is just mediocre, but it seems to be from the catering department, not the property’s on-site restaurants. This particular year, my friend/coworker and I got to Disneyworld a little earlier than our other coworkers and was looking for a place to eat. We decided to try the Captain’s Grille. I love lobster rolls, and theirs was one of the restaurant’s signature items. I decided to try it. It did not disappoint! I wanted to eat it again before I left Disneyworld, but didn’t have time to do so. I told my good friend and boyfriend that I’d have to take them there to try it if we ever get out to Disneyworld together.

We made reservations for breakfast during our weekend stay at The Yacht Club. I was a bit nervous after reading some of the less than average reviews and no staff members being able to tell me the accommodations that could be made for a vegan date ahead of time. I was pleasantly surprised by my meal. Service was average. Not necessarily Disney magical, but not bad either. The only item for vegans that is available are the Mickey Waffles and fruit, but my date was satisfied with that. I ordered the smoked salmon bagel and it was gooooood. The bagel came out with a large portion of smoked salmon(displayed so nicely!) with all of the fixings. It was nice to be able to set up my bagel exactly how I wanted it. I thought the value for the food that was received was pretty decent. I would return if staying at The Yacht Club again due to the convenience, but wouldn’t make a special trip.

This place is THE place for a breakfast buffet at Disney. I’ve been to my fair share of breakfasts and breakfast buffets at the resorts. From Boma at the AKL(decent food, but terribly crowded with awful service) to Kona at the Polynesian(my favorite breakfast spot in Disney) and I have to say, Captain’s Grille is definitely a favorite. They serve both buffet and a la carte, which is great if you want something a little less heavy. But, that being said, a lot of the items on the menu, like the citrus scented french toast, happen to also be on the buffet. They will also make you an omelette or eggs benedict if you ask your waiter when you order the buffet — it’s included! The buffet is smaller and less crowded. It’s not large, there is not two of everything. But there is a good variety. The french toast is worlds better than other Disney buffets, the egg dishes are phenomenal(egg pinwheels with sausage gravy and two types of cheese… to die for) and even the pastries were delicious. My husband ate 6 little chocolate chip muffins. It wasn’t a bad price either, plus I got to try a lot of the things on the menu I couldn’t decide between. It was great to get a croissant but not the other parts of the bread basket I wasn’t so sure I wanted. We filled up here before braving the crowds at Magic Kingdom on a busy day(like reached capacity day) which was the right choice as lines for food in MK were crazy. Here, we were seated quickly, our server was awesome, and we were not overwhelmed with people.

We had a lovely Christmas Day buffet brunch at Captain’s Grille and enjoyed seeing the Disney’s Yacht Club. The grounds and the main building were beautifully decorated for Christmas — including a giant model train display that we watched while waiting for our table. Our table was ready in just a few minutes, and we were seated in a nice half booth, half chairs table in a quieter corner of the restaurant. Our server was very prompt, and took our drink orders. After that, we were off to the buffet. There were tons of options — fruit, yogurt, granola, salads, waffles in the shape of Mickey, bacon, sausages, eggs benedict, pancakes, a meat person who had both ham and turkey. The buffet also had all the fixings for a turkey dinner. There were tons of different breads and a soup option as well. There were two separate dessert bars with super cute looking desserts. By the time we all got back to the table with our first plates, our waitress had already brought our drinks — great service. We pretty much enjoyed everything. I think the only minor complaint I had was that the ham I received from the meat station was a bit dry. Although it was a bit spendy for the brunch, we’re glad that we got to experience the Yacht Club, as well as Captain’s Grille. It was a really great, low key place to have our Christmas Day brunch.

Food was pretty good, but the portion was small for the price. But I guess that’s expected at a hotel restaurant. Our server wasn’t the most friendly and looked like he’d rather be doing something else than his job. Would not come back.

Terrible. For being on Disney property, you’d expect to have an overall decent average since it IS a Disney restaurant. Wrong. So, so wrong. The wait for our table was weird. They weren’t busy and yet we waited for a while. When we were sat down, we had two servers. One was training and he kept saying things that we didn’t really understand. And then randomly another server came up. She never introduced herself, would drop stuff off and then disappear. Actually both of the servers would disappear for quite a while. We waited for a long time for our food and then when we tasted it, none of us were impressed or wanted more. My pork belly(ha!) was COVERED in sauce. And when the female server came to collect dishes she asked if we wanted boxes, we all said no and then proceed to collect half eaten dishes without asking for any feedback. So I told her that my meal had way too much sauce and she actually said, «Yeah, I normally ask for sauce on the side when I go out.» How am I supposed to know that it’s going to have WAY too much sauce on it? Actually I didn’t even remember seeing anything on the menu about sauce, but either way, her statement didn’t make any sense. We will never go back here and it’s now become a joke when we don’t know what we want for dinner. Never again.

If I was rating Chef David and the other chefs & assistants here it would get 5 stars. Food was EXCELLENT. Décor gets a «C» and service a «B». Found place to be very clean. Now to the nitty gritty: by far!!! By far… the salmon dish is the best thing on the menu. Chef David created this and it’s a work of art, a masterpiece, the virtuoso in the orchestra… On to the rest: fish and chips excellent, soup & san combo– very good, hand cut fries: excellent, apple cobbler and cheesecake: VERY good. Chef’s choice of paired wine gets a super high-five. Leave it to Disney to make sure the maraschino cherry is on the top

It was raining so we cancelled our original reservation and thought we’d try the Capitol Grille. When we were finished we had wished we spent our dining points on room service. Honestly, and at most places in Disney, the service is really good and the wait staff is attentive and they were here too. It’s just that the food we had was not good. I was told the hit dish was the crab cakes so I decided to order them. They were extremely mushy and tasted very fishy, not the good kind. My wife ordered the ravioli and was not happy at all as they were flavorless and tasted like they were microwaved. Skip this place, you owe it to yourself to have a delicious meal while your at Disney and this place won’t do it.

Fantastic, friendly service. Great food, and the place didn’t need a reservation. Great for a long leisurely lunch to escape the crowds and the heat. Started with the lobster roll. Which was perfect. Enjoyed a different take on cheesecake for dessert. Very rich with sweet flavors.
