Deciding what to have for lunch was a very difficult decision. Everything on the menu sounded so good but I finally went with pulled pork on ciabatta with coleslaw and potato salad, my BF ordered the walleye poyboy. Our food came out fast and was delcious. The pork was not fatty or too sweet. Just the right amount of tang. The potato salad had dill in it, a little diced purple onion, and wasn’t too salty. Pretty tasty. The only low light of this meal was the coleslaw. I don’t like celery seed in my coleslaw and almost 5 hours later I can still taste that damn celery seed. Halfway through his poyboy, my BF was already full. But it was so good he kept going and finished it off. We will definitely come back the next time we’re in the area.

Staying a the local Hall’s Alaskan Lodge and swung in for dinner. A great selection of wood fired pizza, sad witches, salads and burgers with a good selection of beer and wine. I had a great Mediterranean pizza with added sausage and a bells two hearted ale. The boss had a Reuben which what’s stacked fresh and moist corned beef with the house Chardonnay. All excellent for small town fare. We’ll be back. Well also try the other half of the house for breakfast.

Late breakfast on a Sunday morning. Generous portions, well priced, tasty and the food came quickly, once our order was taken. Waitress was perhaps new. Each step in our ordering process was a tad too slow. Once we finally ordered drinks, they took a while to come. Once we finally were asked for our food order, we noticed that patrons who were seated after our party, already had their food.

Toot Toot! The railroad theme gets an extra star from me and being next to an active RR fits right into the theme of this place. Quiet dining and good service also boosted the ratings for this local place. I had a basic burger which was prepared very well. The fries were excellent. I would visit this place again. It has a lot of old railroad artifacts which are interesting to look at.

Got here about 8pm on a Friday night. It is busy; a lively crowd but not overly loud. Our waitress was great, chocolate porter and vanilla porter were delish. My bf loved his brisket sandwich and my gyro was very good.

Let me preface this by saying my brother and I are vegan and most of our party was vegetarian. This seemed like a brand new concept for the wait staff. We asked about dressings and she couldn’t list them off to save her life. It was a little embarrassing. My brother asked for the balsamic vinaigrette and beware — it was just the vinegar. They did alright with bringing us everything we ordered with exception of a sundae for a birthday in our party that the waitress never brought even though we asked twice. The bathrooms were clean and the dining room was tidy. I understand that this isn’t a place people typically would go with diet restrictions but we are visiting for the week and wanted to try the place out that seems to be a rave and probably is for those that are well accommodated for.

The restaurant was very loud and seating was uncomfortable. My Husband ordered a burger and upgraded the patty size. When his burger came it was much smaller than the menu stated the size to be. The waitress agreed that the burger looked smaller than normal. She said she would talk to the cook. The cook/owner came out to our table and argued that we didn’t know what we were talking about. He insulted my husband and refused to make the situation right. Major jerk. Will never go back.

Fun atmosphere, grilled chicken cranberry sandwich on cranberry wild rice bread was one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever had. Nothing like you’ve ever had before.

Food was excellent and service was top-notch. Prices very reasonable. Only negative is overlit bar vibe but if in Lake City I would put this near top of the list. I had Mediterranean pasta with shrimp which was delicious.

Erin was an excellent server. The Tomato Bisque is to die for, wish it was a permanent item on the menu. We feel cheated when we come & they don’t have it. Best side salad we have ever had, they take the time to chop cucumber’s, tomatoes, carrots & red onion into small pieces and put them on the four corners of the plate. Also homemade croutons. Our Crispy Chicken Wrap was delicious.

This place took was surprisingly pleasant. Good bloody marys, even with a pepperoni! Be sure to try the house-made ginger ale. I’m not usually a fan but this tasted sweeter than usual. We were being so indecisive because there a lot of options! The rail egg rolls(something like that) were nicely paired with chipotle sauce. The black beans added a nice touch. For the pizza’s we were torn between about 4 or 5 of them. Ended up with two personal, which we shared. One would have even been enough to share. Wow! The Philly one didn’t sit with me well. I think it was the cheese I didn’t enjoy. Let’s talk about the Mac n cheese pizza! Delicious, bacon-y and perfectly cheesy. I was thinking that the croutons and bacon were going to be too much and I wouldn’t like it. I was so wrong. Cheesy and satisfying! Tiramisu was big and so good. Not made in house, but a nice ending to the meal.

I’m from Michigan and was visiting extended family in Minnesota. My Aunt lives in Lake City and there aren’t many places to eat. Every year we visit, we end up going to The Railhouse Grill. I remember it being way better the first time I visited. I had ordered their tomato bisque. I remember it being good but it was luke warm, so I sent it back. I also ordered the chicken cesar wrap, that was delicious! This next time I ordered their Mac n cheese burger. The French fries were about the best thing on my plate. My burger I ordered medium and it was medium well, or should I say extremely dry and burnt. The Mac n cheese was like something from out of a box. I was a little disappointed, I would have imaged it super delicious. My mom ordered the chicken cesar salad and it came with no dressing. Our waitress was friendly but the amount of people dining vs the amount working… our waitress also disappeared for quite awhile. And from where we were sitting I could see the prepared food before it came to the table. I think my burger sat there for 10 minutes before the rest of our food went. Which only grossed me out because of the fruit and regular flies around the dining area.
