Don Jose Mexican Restaurant

Been coming here for 20 years! Love this place and love the service. A few servers have been there the whole 20 years! Deserves 5 stars.

I don’t know how this place doesn’t have 5 stars! I have been coming here for a few years now and am always impressed. I have brought many friends and family here and they have all loved it as well! Their chips and salsa are so good! I’ve tried the tacos, fajitas, tamales, burritos, rolled tacos, and arrow con pollo and they have all bee the best I’ve had anywhere. I highly recommend this place!

Basic Americanized Mexican food. Nothing special at all. We were in a large group, and service was spotty at best. Only redeeming quality was the margarita and other alcoholic beverages. Very strong and reasonably priced. Go for happy hour. That’s about it.

All I gta say is WOW! We went to the bar side, and nobody came for service, so we went to the restaurant side, and tried to order calamari, but apparently it’s only served on barside. We went to the bar to order it, they refused to sell it to us since we were on the restaurant side. Well we would’ve stayed over if that server would have come over, or even acknowledged us.
Anywho, in our party we ordered steak picatta (very stewed), fajita burrito (too many veggies, huge chunks of stewed mushy meat), tostada (no flavor), and I had a chicken chimichanga (good). The plates went back full within a few minutes, the rude server said nothing. Just brought us the bill immediately. I brought it up to her that all the plates were full, her reply «well I asked you if everything was ok, no one said anything, oh well.» In all fairness she came by a couple minutes after we got our food, and had just begun eating. My husband did say «ehh.» She didnt care. So I asked for manager. She was very polite and nice as we addressed our complaints, and we received ½ off food. So I recommend only the barside if you go, and expect terrible service there.

Great atmosphere and the Arroz con Pollo was very good. I gave it 3 stars because the enchilada sauce is bitter tasting and a weird brown color and the waitress didn’t seem to give a hoot about her job let alone her customers.

All I can say is Yum! Especially if you like Tex Mex. The tamale was delicious the sauce on top was like Carne Guisada. And if you’re from Texas you know what that is. Yum yum yum

Just had dinner! My goodness!!! Best meal I’ve had at any Mexican restaurant around. Chicken tortilla soup was delicious. Bean and cheese burrito with sour cream and gaucho mole, best. And hubby couldn’t stop raving about fajitas! Hector was incredible as well!!! We were so hungry for good Mexican food and we left even more fulfilled! Thank you hector!

Service is not the best. Food was pretty good.
My 13 year old daughter ordered an item not on the menu. A burrito with ham and egg + sour cream.$ 15.95. Tax. I politley asked the manager if that was correct. She said «jes da price off eggs is going up…» Wow… I will never go back and let everyone i know that I found a roach in my food even though thats a lie. Hell with that place

I have been coming here for a couple years now and I must say this place indeed is the «bees, knees»
Service is amazing and you will always have a basket filled with chips and a bowl of salsa
Sure it gets busy and you find yourself waiting on a waiter then stick your bitch ass hand up and wave them down and they will be more then happy to give you some grade A service.

Just finished up lunch. Great as usual. I love their chips and salsa, and the lunch special for a Chile relleno and taco, rice and beans was 8 bucks. It differs from the Riverside and Anaheim locations in a couple ways (not part of «Ricardo’s chain) but similar and good.

This place is very under staff, the service is horrible. I work in the restaurant industry and this place needs help. I really hope they really take a good look at their restaurant and make improvements. I’m sorry but they don’t even deserve one star

Service needs improvement, without a doubt.
Food is subpar.
I do believe Don Jose’s can be good but depends on the location. If you want to try it than I suggest the Riverside location.

What the hell happened here! I have always loved my chili rellano here and this was terrible!!! You need to fire your cook! Sad… will not come back! The only reason I gave a two star is because of the waitress and she was running her butt off!

Wonderful and delicious Mexican food! The inside is a little outdated, but it’s always been that way. Oliverio was our waiter and he was fantastic!

Wife really liked it here. Shrimp tacos were good and the service also. Our server was attentive and the place is clean and well kept. We’ll come back again.

This was my first time me and my family went out to Don Jose’s Mexican Restaurant!
When we got there we had to sign in and wait 30 mins to be seated, we asked for a booth so we didn’t mind…
However, this is where I’m leaving a star out, it has to do where we got seated, we waited for 30mins for a booth, and we got one, however it was in the corner… next to where they are fetching new drinks and chips…
This was a bother considering we were the first table next to it, I had 2 waiters bump into me while I was sitting at the edge of the booth, as you can tell my of frustration.
However, I will comment that the food was pretty good, considering my first time being there and not knowing what to order, next time for me, and I recommend everyone just call in and make a reservation.

EXCELLENT FOOD! Very good service! We had four of us and we ordered a large order of nachos for an appetizer. The nachos were phenomenal! Super filling!
My boyfriend and I ordered the Fajitas for 2 and it was MORE than enough food we had to box it all up and take it home! We will definitely be coming back.

Way above average. Quality, quantity, service, even the chips were great. Very lean meat in the fajita burrito.

My girlfriends and I went to eat at Don Jose Mexican restaurant after our slime run. It was a Saturday afternoon and the restaurant wasn’t too busy. We were all hungry and as usual, they wanted to drink! No matter what time it is they are always looking for the next margarita!
The service was good. The food was ok. I got the chicken fajitas and the taste did not compare to other restaurants. The chicken tasted fatty and I was a little disappointed. Also the corn tortillas tasted a little dry. However my friends ordered the beef tacos and lobster enchiladas and enjoyed their food. They said that they liked their food but what they really enjoyed was the drinks. The Margaritas were $ 4.99 and they said they were strong.
I personally enjoyed the chips. They were nice and hot and they kept them coming! All in all this restaurant was ok and if there was a next time I would definitely just try something decides the fajitas.
