My family ordered fried rice, noodles, house special beef, and orange chicken. The food was good, and filling, however be prepared to pay for it, it is pricy. Even though it was good, it was still to expensive and not worth the extra price.

Prices are a little high but the food is great. Ask for all white meat when getting chicken, cost extra bit it’s worth it! The wontons are really good!

Good chinese food a little pricey. We enjoy the orange chicken and house chow mein but orange chicken was pretty dry this time. Like to add on vegetables to each dish to make it healthier but didn’t do that this time, wish I had. Ordered by phone for take out but they were very busy and I still had to wait for the meal to be cooked upon my arrival, so at least its fresh, it took about 45 minutes from making the order to it being ready for pickup on early Saturday night when I was told twenty minutes. Going to try a different place next time I want Chinese.

The place is expensive and prepare before you order. This dish sizes are huge and can easily be shared. With that said I love Peony’s! Cream cheese wontons are fresh and yummy. You get 10 with an order. The MuShu pork was unbelievably huge! They looked like jumbo burritos. One would think that the flavor would be lost in the size but no. Fantastic flavor of pork, onions and bean sprouts with a tasty plum sauce. The Schezuan Chicken was full of flavor with a slight heat and peppers throughout. Only thing I dont care for is the atmosphere. The place is so sterile and cold. I think they lend more to a take out clientele. Unfortunately I live 60 miles away so eating here is my only option.

Disappointing. I read reviews but thought I’d give it a try as I’m not very picky. Walked in and was pleasantly surprised by the contemporary décor and cleanliness. I ordered 2 chicken chow mein meals and 1 orange chicken to go for a total of $ 38.00! It seemed high but I gave them the benefit of a doubt thinking maybe you get a ton of food or maybe it’s really good afterall. Wrong on both counts! It all fit in 1 bag. At pick up stix, Panda express or qwik wok it would have been two bags for $ 38! Food wasn’t very good and very bland. Sadly I won’t go back as i dont see the value. it’s too bad as there aren’t many choices for Chinese food near canyon lake and I was hoping the reviews were wrong. :-(

Peony is our go-to spot for fresh, cooked to order Chineese. I definitely agree with another reviewer when she said you get more food if you eat in, but over all everything I’ve had has been pretty good. A bit pricy for my taste, but heck, when you don’t feel like cooking, sometimes you have to pay the price. for a family of 4, we’ll typically pay in the area of $ 60.

My husband and I came here for dinner on a Friday evening. This is an order at the counter, take a seat, we’ll bring you your food kind of place. First off, know that the portions you are going to get are HUGE and they all come with steamed rice. We had the orange chicken and the house special chow mein. Both were very good. As you take your seat you are also served crunchy noodles with a dipping sauce and fortune cookies. Kind of pricey, but huge servings.

Literally, the worst food I have ever had in my life. My dad’s exact words were, «This crap isn’t fit for humans.» I would love to see the health department’s report. I felt too guilty to feed this to my kids.

Not very good which was a bummer as I was craving some good Chinese food. My Kung Pao chicken had no Kung and no Pao. Was very bland and not spicy at all. Will not come back to this place I am sure this area has better to offer.

I only come to Peony’s when I am in town to visit my Mom. She loves this place and her orange chicken. I always order the House Special Chicken with white meat! No chance of getting it too fatty– costs extra and worth it.

Been coming here for years… and it’s usually pretty good. House special chicken w/all white meat and lo mien noodles is me and hubby’s usual order. It’s a little pricey but if you dine in you get a little more. Don’t get the fried shrimp appetizer. It’s 6.99 and mostly all batter.

Sorry to say, but this place doesn’t deliver. As other reviews have mentioned the chicken is mostly fat, somewhat gamey and lacks any sweet or tart we all know and love from good orange chicken. Me and my coworkers happily enjoy lunch all over Lake Elsinore and Peony’s has now entered our black list. Beside the horrible«food» the customer service can not be found. Avoid this place like the plague.

I went to this place to try something new in the area since I work in canyon lake. I ordered the orange chicken lunch and it is the worst Chinese that I have EVER tasted. I had to wait 20 minutes for my food only to be disappointed when I brought I back to the office. The chicken is mostly pieces of fat fried and coated with orange sauce. I later found out that They charge you $ 1.50 more if you request«white meat» The rice was dry and they don’t provide you with soy sauce! I do not recommend this place to anyone! Worst $ 8.98 I’ve ever spent on Chinese! And it did not come with a drink! Take your business elsewhere!

Most dishes seem overpriced for a take out style restaurant but they give you a lot but its not authentic flavors; the BBQ pork was bland and not sweet at all and drenched in a red sauce, cut too large and a bit hard to eat. Their fried rice was probably amongst the worst I have ever had, there was barely any rice in it! It had bean sprouts in it, weird, and tons of meat and egg but it was really bland, I make better fried rice anyday.

Its OK Chinese food. I have to admit the service is cool, not the best. For Lake Elsinore it is the best we got. Might come back. I have to say this food is always fresh and hot. Just not fantastic is all. That is why I gave them 3 stars. OK Job here.
