I’ve been going to Dr. Christenson for 2 years now. He’s thorough, mild mannered and friendly. He listens well and interprets your feedback correctly.
He takes a bit of time and is patient when you need more time to anarchy his questions regarding testing feedback.
I love that if they don’t get your prescription right the first time, they’ll redo your glasses until they get it right. Needed 2 pairs the first time and the reading pair didn’t work well even though they made the prescription correctly. Same time on the 2^nd trip. 3^rd time they got it right (I have an unusual eye condition but they were great).
With that kind of customer service, he has a customer for life!

Dr Christensen actually cares that you have good vision! He’s located in the Eyestyles for Lifestyles building in Lake Forest, but this review is not for that company (which carries expensive designer frames).
I was going to get LASIK from a prominent Newport facility, and Dr Christensen performed the required pre-​exam. I could just claim he was «thorough and friendly» but those words are overused. He spent four or five visits with me trying to find just the right prescription for my LASIK procedure and he provided several pairs of contact lenses as well as solution and containers to duplicate the effect of the surgery. He was willing to keep trying different perscriptions, but I finally realized my expectations of LASIK were unrealstic for the cost, and so I decided not to go through with it.
If there is a downside, it’s that he tends to run 10 minutes or so late on his appointments due the fact that he’s so careful to make sure all his patient’s questions are answered. I like that about him!
