Saddleback Family & Urgent Care

Today was my first visit and I saw Dr. Kumar and my nurse was Calvin. I came in with a horrible cough just after they opened around 8:05. The receptionist got me signed in quickly and I did not need to wait long before they got me into a room. Calvin was very kind and made sure I had water to soothe my cough and overall had an excellent bedside manner. Dr. Kumar was quick and professional, he got right to the point and had me out of the office with a pile of prescriptions for my cough in a very efficient manner. I was very pleased with my visit and felt well taken care of.

I’ve been coming to the Lake Forest facility since at least 2005 and I’ve never had a negative experience. The staff here are great! I read some of the lower rating reviews and I really don’t understand why. Yes, the wait time can sometimes be lengthy, but it depends on when you go. Flu season? Well, yeah!!! Personally, I don’t think I’d be comfortable going to a place where they churn patients out every 10 – 15 minutes. I’ve made appointments and still had to wait. I also understand that sometimes priorities change, people are busy, and some patients take longer than others. Give these guys a break! Everyone here has always taken their time with me and answered all of my questions in detail. They really want their patients to be informed and that is one of the reasons why I love this place. Dr. Kumar, Dr. Elpedes, PA Scott Baron are all awesome! And I hope I get his name right but there’s a guy there named Calvin who I think is a nurse, but he’s awesome and funny! I’d never go anywhere else.

Well, I think everyone dealing with workers comp can be cranky from time to time. Overall, I have found them to be helpful. The desk people are personable and the nurses also. The doctors try to help but it is high volume care and they cannot take a ton of time. I am so far happy with the care I have recieved. And for the record it is very odd they have a bad review from someone with my exact initals. Not me!

Worst place to go for any care, let alone health care. Just make sure you can spend 3 – 4 hours to be there. Two hours in the waiting room and another hour waiting in the back treatment rooms for a doctor who eventually gets to you. Then one more hour to finish treatments and prescriptions. I cannot believe the amount of waiting.
The receptionist, not all of them, are rude. The one today when she said to sign a form, was holding a pen, said nothing, then when I went to use her pen, she pulled it away, and said nothing. Then I looked over at the far left at the pen cup and pulled out a pen and signed it. She didn’t say a word like, «there are pens in the cup to the left.» Then after I signed, she still said nothing and then pumped the hand sanitizer quickly because I had already touched her pen. All of it was silent. I’m not a mind reader.
This is the most painful place to get treatment.

Don’t come here if you are not willing to wait over an hour to see a doctor. I sat in the exam room for over 40 minutes waiting to see a doctor. They seem to be way understaffed or just not care about their patients needs. I work in health care so I understand they may be busy but they need to acknowledge the patient the approximate wait time not say «the doctor will be with you shortly».

I was really happy with their treatment of my elderly «baby grandma,» Nana. I brought her in rather late on a Friday evening for a «wound check.» We were treated VERY well by the lady at the front desk, who obviously had patience and compassion for the elderly, understanding that some people need a little more time to complete basic paperwork and may have memory issues. She was REALLY nice — wish I’d gotten her name. The doctor and nurse who attended to Nana were very friendly and professional. They knew that what they were doing was painful, so they went slowly and carefully. The prescription was called in before we left. I was very pleased with our encounter and glad they were available just before the start of a holiday weekend.

I wish I could give them 0 star. I have been here multiple times and evertime the experience gets worse than the last time. The older receptionists are always in a bad mood or just hating life. As far as the doctors go Scott is Ok but the others can care less. I went there for a leave of absence case and it ended up costing me 4 extra visits at $ 30 each. For example They called me saying the doctor needs to see me. They charged me a visit, took me the exam room only for Dr. Bernard to tell me he signed my form. That’s it. Literally. No examination. Anyways if you can just drive 10 min to Hoag in Woodbury, do it and save yourself from a horrible experience and receive a better care.

They are the best doctors I have ever been to. They Care! They can tell you how many years back you had the same problem and when it took place. They take real notes. Come on People they are live humans that do actually care about everyone. Unlike Kaiser who would rather let you die than treat a person.

The waiting is unbearable! Had only 2 people ahead of me and a couple before me but I still waited 2 hrs! I don’t want to Come back here!

Having terrible earache about a week ago, I came here for help. The wait was over an hour but everyone was very nice and polite. Dr was great! He even called back 1 week later to see if if I was still having earache and if infection had gotten better. I really appreciate the follow up! Definitely will return if my family and I need to urgent care.

I came in with intense back pain I wasn’t looking for narcotics or anything like that I was looking for some help in making this pain go away. After waiting almost two hours the Dr. Came in accused me seeking out narcotics and treated me like I was a piece of trash. I have never been so offended in my life. Stay away from this place at all costs.

Extremely rude and short staffed receptionists. They also are short staffed in terms of Dr’s and services offered. I will be switching Dr’s immediately. They have made too many billing mistakes as well.

I have been here a few times and every time I get excellent service from the moment I walk in! I’ve never had to wait long and I’ve always been a walk in. The Dr. answers any questions and make you feel very comfortable. The staff is very friendly. Love love love this place!

HORRIBLE! The receptionist took my insurance card, charged me my co-​pay and then I later got a bill. They said that they realized AFTER I saw the doctor that they didn’t take my insurance. Not my problem. Then, they sent me to collections and it went on my credit. Two years later, they still do not have it resolved so I may cave and pay the bill. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. They have a few good doctors (like Dr. Stouder) but Dr. Gail Silver seems completely burnt out and told me that she doesn’t want to do «family medicine» even though some people go in just to get a sleeping pill or whatever. She was irritated that her staff booked me with her. I’m thinking, why are you sharing this with me?

Do not go here if you can avoid it. The wait is longer than they tell you, and when you ask when you’ll be seen you’ll still wait longer. Even for a simple TB test I was here for over an hour before I asked for a refund and left.

Short and simple the staff here is rude. I hadn’t been here since I was young but never realized how rude they are. Guy who called me in to the doctor asked me my problem and gave me a weird look when I told him. Tried asking him a few questions and of course is a moron who didn’t know anything about anything medical except calling peoples names. Yet another awful urgent care doctor I got. This blonde lady came in to the room with this know it all smug attitude and I let her know the issues I have been having. Since she is an awful doctor she didn’t seem to know anything about anything except the few lines she read in a textbook. She had the nerve to say oh maybe its just all in your head… WTF I was about to blow up on this dumb little blonde b#%&$, who says that to a patient. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. Never coming back here again. Awful staff and doctor.

Wait time was only minutes once my paperwork was processed. The doctor was nice and helpful and not in a rush. Place was clean and not crowded on a Sunday morning.

We had to take our infant in for an ear infection while on vacation. they were very helpful and took care of us right away. We have out of state insurance and they handled everything for us. The nurse was very talkative and seemed to answer her own questions which led us to just be silent until the doctor came in. The doctor was thorough and listened to us. They called our Rx in for us to the nearest pharmacy so we wouldn’t have to wait or do it ourselves. It was definitely a nice way to go instead of an emergency room or trying to wait until we got all the way back to New Jersey.

I was REALLLLLLLY hoping to find a doctor nearby when we moved to this area. I waited an hour and a half to get a test. Then I waited another hour just for someone to read the test 3 days later! Also, the ladies at the desk just looked plain old tacky! Half-​bitten, half-​polished nails, flip flops, etc. I felt like I was in a less than sterile environment in a third world country! I won’t be back, and neither will my family.
The nurse who did my test was very nice, but other than that NO THANKS!!!
Any suggestions for a quick clinic in the area would be appreciated…

The Saddleback Family and Urgent Care Medical Group is not bad as far as urgent care facilities go, but then again, I don’t go to too many, which is fortunate. But my experience here was fairly pleasant, so I thought I’d write a quick review of it
The location is right — basically at the corner of Lake Forest and Rockfield. Hours are 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The facility itself is not huge, but certainly not small, either. Fairly ample parking is available, but it can be difficult finding a spot during the busy hours of he day when the adjacent businesses are open.
The administrative staff is friendly, patient and helpful — pretty much the three qualities you want your administrative staff to have in a place like this.
The doctors and physicians’ assistants are pretty good, too, at the least the couple guys that saw me for the various ailments I came in with. It’s got to be a tough gig, so kudos to them for having a good attitude when they saw me.
I’m not even going to mention the wait. Seriously, it’s an urgent care facility. it’s first come, first served. You ARE going to wait and you WILL wait longer than you think you have to.
They do take appointments for certain situations, but if you’re a walk-​in, no reservations. Them’s the breaks. At least the waiting area is clean, spacious and fairly comfortable. The TV is set at some kind of CNN Health channel, but bring a book or play with your PDA to pass the time. Won’t be so bad.
