Well, I’m glad I didn’t check Unilocal reviews before coming in here because it seems like most of the bad reviews are from whiny, cheap Groupon users who didn’t get the meal they wanted, That’s messed up because this place is actually pretty good. It isn’t all good, but it’s pretty damn good! Let’s start with Renee. Rude? Really? I’ve never met a more accommodating waitress! They don’t accept all forms of payment(I’m a traveling frequent diner. Figure it out!!), but she worked with me to make sure I’d get to have my ribs and eat them too! She was personable, and funny with me. She was the only one handling orders both at the counter and tables, so her service was a little slow. I recognized why and let her off the hook because I’m a good person and I don’t use Groupon! Had she been any friendlier I might have asked her out, or asked her to join me! Now to the food. I ordered two completely different meals so I could try a lot of their food. On my table was a beef rib, pulled pork, and a half rack of St. Louis Ribs, coleslaw, mac and cheese, potato salad, and baked beans. The beef rib sucked! It was over cooked and flavorless without BBQ sauce. A Texas BBQ should know better than to serve this crappy of a rib. Texans know beef ribs. Someone from Bakersfield, CA must have cooked mine! On the other hand their St. Louis ribs were REALLY good! No sauce required. The rub, smokiness, and temperature of these ribs were right on! I’ll be returning for these ribs! I don’t know enough about pulled pork to say how good that was. It tasted good, but is it supposed to swimming in sauce? I don’t know! Pulled pork eaters use your judgement! The sides were killer… except for the mac and cheese. It tasted like Craft from a box. Sorry. It did! The baked beans, and potato salad were excellent, and will be my choices the next time I visit. The coleslaw was good, but I’ve had better. It won’t disappoint, but when you’re eating killer potato salad the coleslaw will suffer. So stop in for a meal. You don’t need a Groupon! They’re affordable without one!
