I found the food to be exceptional … The wait staff to be stretched too thin… The Crab Soup to be the best I’ve ever tasted. The carpet needs to be updated … But all in all … You can not go wrong with dining here.

Ok at best. Way to pricey for what you get. The she crab soup is great though. Other than that… very blah

Went there for breakfast the morning after my wedding. Although the staff was very friendly and helpful it was severely over priced for what we received. My husband ordered the steak and eggs for $ 20. He received a sliver of flat and over cooked steak(maybe 3 oz) with 3 scrambled eggs and hash browns. I got the chef special skillet which was last night prim rib in a skillet with eggs and cheese. It was small and $ 18. Although it had a good flavor there was grease halfway up the dish edge. I had to dab and tap my fork full to get the grease off. I will never eat here again because it was a major disappointment. I wanted a nice breakfast but this wasn’t worth it.

Five room temperature, overcooked, flavorless Prime Rib cuts, one with a hair. Four Bloody Mary’s with beer chasers, three were served, chasers were never brought to the table. The fourth drink did come. Second round of drinks, was as ordered, along with a free shower down the arm. «Oh, I’m so sorry, I think it’s just water», said the server. No, I think it the tomato juice that I see coming over the top of the glass. We asked for more water. Ten minutes later, one of the two bus boys filled our glasses. Deserts were ok. Regarding the hair, the server removed it from our bill. I was offered another entrée, but no thanks. The manager, if there was one, never came by to apologize. The restaurant was more than half empty on Mother’s Day. Now I know why.

My family and I came here for Mother’s Day. We were seated right away but we had to wait a long time between servings. We all ordered the prime rib med rare and when we were served, the prime rib was over cooked and flavorless. And one of the plates had a hair on it. Not a recommendation for dining.

Good service and a nice place to have dinner. Got a table right away which is a plus on Saturday night. Prime rib was the special and my husband enjoyed his. My whitefish was pretty good but had too much crust. Wine list was fine and a wine tasting room was visible through glass on the porch floor. Would definitely go back again.

Had lunch here recently and really enjoyed it. The décor is a bit dated but I think it added to the charm of the place, reminds me of an old steakhouse. She-crab soup was excellent. My husband and I both had fish and were satisfied. Try the potato pancake, you won’t be disappointed. Service was excellent, very attentive and friendly. We will be back.

The décor is hideous. first off our waitress never mentioned the special wine they were offering, but luckily I over heard them from the table behind us. I ordered the surf and turf. I didn’t get melted butter served with it but other tables did. The fillet had decent flavor but the meat was hard to cut and was shredding as I tried. The lobster smelled so awful! My husband and I each tasted one bite and couldn’t eat the rest. Our waitress had been missing for 20 minutes so by the time I informed her we were done with our food. She told me it was fresh, but clearly it wasn’t. I expected more out of this place.

This place is a hidden gem. I have been driving by it for almost 6 months. I only went because my hotel bartender told me about it. From the outside it looks more like a dinner. The inside its too much to look at either with green carpet and flower wall paper. But in the end I don’t care if the food is good. And it is great. The Shea crb soup is great and they even serve it right with roe and sherry. The steak was cook good but just shy of making this a 5 star place for me.

Totally old school. I remember passing The Red Geranium when I was little. My husband and I decided to stop in after seeing their sign about Sun-Thurs specials. 2 for $ 28. Includes one appetizer, two entrees and two desserts. Limited selection but good enough choices. The ribs were tender and excellent. The mocha cheesecake was delightful. I was not a fan of the strawberry pound/shortcake as it was super dry although my husband liked it. The front room is bright and cheerful. This place hasn’t been updated in forever and the menu is a hot dated as well. That said we enjoyed our meal and the tremendous value.

This is a quaint restaurant with great food and ambiance! We were seated on the patio on a sunny day for lunch and could not have been more delighted! I would recommend this place for a girls luncheon or couples who want a special atmosphere where you can easily talk while getting great, friendly service and excellent food. I highly recommend the homemade quiche(excellent) and my Mom had the asparagus soup and turkey sandwich, which she enjoyed very much also. Both dishes came with a bread basket of hot rolls and a wide array of fruit on our plates. I can’t wait for my next trip to Lake Geneva to try their other entrees and the wine cellar!

This was our first dinner out on our romantic getaway. Someone had recommended it to me. After walking in the décor is just so outdated, we should of taken this as a sign. We were seated by a fire, which was a lovely treat. The waitress was very attentive, and chatty. The menu didn’t offer much. We both decided on the same item, open faced steak. The meat was horrible. No flavor. I tried to put pepper and salt, but I couldn’t finish it. The house salad was good. My husband had a cup of Shecrab soup with sherry, and he loved it. The desserts we were told are fresh made in house. :(another disappointment. We felt really bad for the waitress because only one other couple was dinning. We ended up leaving a big tip, because it’s not her fault the food is horrible! Avoid this place, not worth the money. It’s not cheap!

A few friends and I stopped in here they really did not want to go here as it looked super old and looked like it has pepto bismol walls inside it apparently is an old house/farm turned into a restaurant ! We did decide to dine in and figured how hard is it to screw up breakfast. Service was good a nice waitress! A person in our party asked for her eggs done a certain way the cook could not get it right after 3 tries so we gave up and the others ate their meals. I thought the other dishes were tasty but slightly high in price! The whole menu seemed over priced in an old restaurant with dreadful wallpaper. The OJ tasted like a frozen can that they had just added water. They were very sorry the cook could not get the eggs right and did everything to make it better but we still would never go back here! Unfortunately it looks halfway decent on the outside and that’s it!!! Do yourselves a favor and go into town for a bite to eat.

DONOTEATHERE! While at brunch, we had a legitimate concern and the owner totally dismissed it – he actually just walked away and wouldn’t even listen. He was rude and very unprofessional. There are many better places to eat in the Lake Geneva area – not this one.

Last night, my wife and I were driving through the area. We were getting a bit hungry, so I read through a list of area restaurants on our GPS. When I reached the Red Geranium, my wife interrupted me, saying, «That’s the one!» I asked her, «Why?» She said, «Many years ago, my mom and I ate there. When my sister found out, she was really disappointed that she didn’t come with us! It’s a nice place. At least, it used to be.» Long story short — it’s still a nice place! Here is a summary of our highlights: * Linen tablecloth, nice silverware, clean, pleasant atmosphere * Casual to formal casual attire * Great, personable service * Wonderful Friday night fish fry * Get the She Crab soup — it’s really as good as everyone says!!! * All of the food is top notch * Prices on menu might seem a bit high, but you get what you pay for… and the specials are very reasonable After the soup and fish fry, we could not accommodate dessert. I asked our waitress, who happened to be the restaurant’s dessert chef, what she would suggest. As chocolate lovers, she recommended the chocolate cake with raspberry sauce and suggested that I heat the cake for about 20-seconds before eating it. I did. After heating it, the chocolate became almost like mousse. It was excellent! If you are looking for a pub or a fast food restaurant, go somewhere else and don’t post a review here, complaining that it isn’t what you want. If you are looking for an upscale fish fry, I can heartily recommend The Red Geranium!

Definitely the old people restaurant of Lake Geneva. If you like flowery wallpaper and decorations straight out of the 80’s, you’ll love this place. The food was good, but a bit expensive. It’s mostly patronized by elderly couples, you’ll see mostly Buicks and Cadillacs in the parking lot. I’ve lived in LG12 years, and I’ve only been there one time.

Nice little restaurant near the highway and Grand Geneva resorts. sort of a brunchy kind of place, but they do serve dinner. we had the grilled chicken wrap which is ok, and the quiche of the day which was very good. i had a cup of the she crab soup which was amazing. and very rich. certainly a nice place for lunch/brunch i might return for a dinner at some point. Recommended.

The food here was pretty good, but the prices on the menu are a bit high. We were pleased to see they happened to have a special that day…2 for $ 28 that included one appetizer, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts. For our appetizer, we went with the cheese sticks. They brought 2 small cheese sticks out with a big cup of marinara sauce. The cheese sticks looked like mini egg rolls because they were cheese rolled up in an egg roll wrapper. Interesting. The cheese stick was good, but my husband hated the marinara. It was made with a lot of green peppers because that’s all you could taste. For our entrees, I ordered the chicken marsala and my husband got the steak. The entrees were served with cauliflower, broccoli and roasted red potatoes. Both entrees were delicious as were the sides. For dessert, I got the lemon cake and my husband got the carrot cake. Both were delightful, and just the right size. The other thing I wanted to mention was the décor. It was just awful. We were seated in the enclosed porch area, and it was decked out in kelly green carpeting and red flower wallpaper on the walls. It was nice that it had big huge windows to look outside, except that we were overlooking hwy 50.

Another fine example of upscale over priced lake Geneva dining. The only thing on the menu that keeps me coming back is the she crab bisque AMAZING!

My husband and I stopped here on our way home from an event in IL. We’ve been by it numerous times and thought we’d stop off this time. The owner is your host and once you’ve been taken to your seat he let’s you know which part of the original house you are in. The tables have white linen table clothes, kinda fancy, yet casual. The menu has an array of choices, fish, chicken, pork and steaks. We had the bruschetta appetizer, it was little like pizza bread. My husband tried the She Crab Soup and prime rib. I had the pecan encrusted whitefish. We were satisfied so much we didn’t have room for dessert. This could be a nice place for special occasions, like a celebration of some sort. Come hungry and try something you wouldn’t normally eat, you won’t be disappointed.
