This is the second time I’ve been here when I have gone to Lake George. Food is very delicious I recommend the falafel wrap, grape leaves, lavash and yogurt sauce, and of course the pistachio baklava! It’s a little pricey but it’s so worth it. If you like this type of food this is to place to go! People there are very nice and accommodating two small children. I like all the knick knacks on the walls and the furniture it’s a very clean establishment and we enjoyed going there. I highly recommend this place

My wife wanted to stop and eat at this restaurant. I was a little worried about the place. But finally went in and to my surprise the food was excellent. I ordered the hummus, lamb chops with rice and green beans. The chops were cooked well done but they were very juicy and flavorful. The rice was cooked perfectly. My wife ordered the chicken gyro and she loved it. The service was good but the waitress didn’t know the menu items all that well. It is somewhat pricy but it is a tourist area so it is expected. I will definitely visit this restaurant again.

This restaurant was such a find in Lake George that we ate there twice in one week. Amongst other items, they offer saucy platters(mushroom sauce, tomato and yogurt, and curry) that accompany the meat of your choice. The side dishes are tasty and the lavash bread amazing. The pizza style kids meal was yummy. In all, Home-cooked taste that will leave you wanting more. Service was prompt and friendly. Lastly, the oven in the open kitchen adds a rustic vibe to the experience.

Fist time in area, took my family for dinner here after checking reviews for place. Place was busy, once in I asked the waitress for a table for 5, but since our little one is just 5 she decided to seat us at a 4 ppl table to save space, when we complained table was too small owner said nothing he can do cause he has waiting list, no one was waiting but he wanted to keep bigger tables for a bigger group. He had bad attitude as well. Service was fast and decent, place was clean and nice, food portion was small for the price. We ordered 4 different orders, the meats were marinated for quite some time, it was soft with lots of spices, side veggies were not fresh at all, rice was either under or overcooked, homemade bread isn’t fully baked. Since I eat turkish food everywhere including in turkey I dont recommend this place as an example of turkish cousin, I also see the ratings for the place to be too high for food quality, value or hospitality, I ordered Iskender kabob for 18 $ and left hungry. I originally gave the place two stars, but I edited toe review and removed a star after the amount of gas this food gave me, hardly slept last night.

My vegan bride loves the baba ganush. We visited recently with some friends. The rest of us were profoundly disappointed. Pretty expensive and underwhelming. The service was poor and the meat platter was absolutely false advertising. Dried out quarter sized chops. Chicken pieces that were dried out and flavorless as well. The no booze thing is a bummer, but acceptable if the food was decent. We agreed to never return.

Ali Baba is a good place to eat. The food is fresh and tasty. It is definitely americanized Mediterranean/Turkish food, but it is one of the few places you can find a descent vegetarian meal. It is one of the few places you can a find flavorful and fresh meal that someone has taken care to make for you. The Lavash was great and the Tzatziki sauce was particularly fresh and good. Services was prompt and friendly. The restaurant it’s self sports these enormous tables and chairs. it seems like a huge waist of space. Huge groups kept coming in 8 – 10 people in a group, obviously did not call a head and then tried to cram themselves around one of the giant tables. I think Ali Baba would do well to get himself a consultation on restaurant layout to increase the guest capacity in a more comfortable way. Outdoor seating would also be a nice addition. Overall we were very surprised to find that the food in general in Lake George goes from mediocre to bad. Food quality does not seem to be a priority for a lot of these places. There are very few vegetarian options anywhere. I would seriously hate to be a vegan or Gluten Free here, you would really be out of luck. We were exceptionally disappointed given the long robust tourist history of this town and area. Any restaurant, it seems to me, who stepped up their game would instantly see a huge benefit.

The flavor of the food is on point but the meats don’t complement the flavor/texture. I ordered the chicken curry. It was cubed chicken breast with warm rice and brused/cold green beans on the side I paid $ 13.95. You don’t use breast for curry you use thighs which complements the stew of the curry. The breast made the dish difficult to eat because it has a tough dry texture to it. My wife ordered the chicken gyro $ 10 again they used big cubed chicken breasts. Which made it a messy meal to handle. As soon as you take a bite the pita start to break apart in weird directions making the whole sandwich fall apart in your hands. Not to mention $ 3 for crap Pepsi brand drinks THEONLYTHINGGOODHEREWASTHEHUMMAS.

Recommended place to eat when in lake george. Very clean restaurant quiet and most of all have very good food wether it’s authentic or not still got 4* to me judging on food quality. Ordered grilled guail which is well cooked moist and tasty, hammus and babaganoush very well prepared and also good specially with the lavash(freshly baked pita like bread) w/c by the way comes with it. Beef &lamb gyro also very good and last but not the least the pide(almost like pizza) also very very good.

My boyfriend and I came here as an alternative to BBQ style food ! We had a good meal. My boyfriend says compared to authentic Mediterranean it is «just ok.» I have not been to any Mediterranean countries so as an American I thought it was yummy! We first got an appetizer which comes with this bread. Kind of greasy but I liked it! Then we got a gyro and a falafel platter. The gyro was bland. The falafel platter was flavorful but I wish it came with more bread. I was pleased overall.

This place is anything but authentic. If you have had middle eastern/mediterranean food before THENRUN!!! If you havent, ALSORUN!!! This would be a sad 1st choice for this type of cuisine. Came here with my friend and boyfriend when we visited Lake George last week. My friend and i ordered the falafel platter, my boyfriend got the falafel wrap. When we placed our orders, i asked for pickles to be brought to the table(ALLMIDDLEEASTERNORMEDITERRANEANPLACESERVEPICKLESANDOLIVESWITHOUTYOUASKING) they had to go check first if they can give us pickles. Once the waiter got the OK… he brought us a small plate of chopped up red cabbage. Is this considered pickles lol? i dont know once our meals came i was a little bit horrified. The falafels were YELLOW. no falafel in the world is yellow. The texture and consistency of the falafel was WAYOFF. Falafels are made of ground chick peas and spices, these falafels were made of FLOUR. The balls were light and empty and inside. No flavor. A lot of air pockets inside the falafel. This was a shame for anyone to think these were real falafels. The salad that comes with the platter is served with no type of dressing, its just dry salad. The hummus is wattery but decent. The garlic cucumber yogurt dip was good. 2 skinny slivers of lavash bread came with the platter, not enough bread to enjoy the hummus or yogurt dip. When i requested more bread from the person who i assume was the owner by the cash register, i was told NO. The bread is made to order with your meal, you cant get more. They did not even offer me the option to PAY for extra bread. This was a disgusting way to treat customers. The bread is obviously made as a big loaf and then cut, they tried telling me that it wasnt. My boyfriends falafel sandwich looked repulsing when he got it. it was a few falafels(fake falafels) drenched in a pool of yogurt dip. He specifically asked for hummus, falafel, cucucumbers and pickles in his sandwich and hot sauce. Nothing else. The waiter argued with him that that was hummus in his sandwhich. Which NO it wasnt. Hummus is creamy and tan colores, the sauce in his sandwich was wattery and WHITE!!! My boyfriend said he didnt want his sandwich and handed it back to the waiter. The waiter comes back 5 minutes later with the same sandwich and says«I JUSTASKEDINTHEBACK, THISISHUMMUSINTHESANDWHICH» We said no it wasnt, my boyfriend refused to eat or order anything else. My friend also had little fuzzy stuff in her salad. This place is very disappointing. Only come here if you have no taste buds and are desperate. What a shame this place was. LEFTHEREVERYHUNGRYSTILL

This restaurant serves authentic Mediterranean food! Everything was fresh, made to perfection & perfectly proportioned. The waitresses were very friendly & the service was faster than anticipated. The best meal we’ve had in Lake George!

Not the most amazing décor, and they don’t serve alcohol. However, the lamb kebab was so tasty it deserves four stars all by itself.

The food tasted alright, chicken is a little dry. I put three star because the dishes are too tiny for its price.

There are 12 tables that seat seat 6 people. Two that seat 5. An army of young women waitress /host. They are sweet and hardworking — their english is not clear. We order the falafel platter about $ 13 and Greek salad about $ 8 and a cup of water(tap and free) and a Pepsi(comes from a soda fountain). We also order the lavash bread that came with a yogurt and tahini sauce. It was ok, not bad, nothing to keep you staying. They took credit cards. They had music on with some Madonna songs and Arabian songs. The place was clean. Overall a go to place when it rains and grow weary and dissatisfied with the same food around Lake George.

Two different visits and here is what I have to say, Food is decent, we tried lamb/beef gyro, chicken gyro and kabob. Once, we were three people and the host told us to sit on the table right in front of the entrance, there were plenty of other tables empty but he was rude and wont move us. The server came after a while and it was hard to order anything because the place is understaffed. We sat in front of the entrance, all of the tables were occupied quickly and people were waiting around our table(we had seen that first time and thats why we didn’t want to sit on that table) so we could over hear the host/server literally telling someone«don’t you we are very busy»? Horrible service

We were up in the Lake George area and saw the great reviews for this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try for a quick lunch. Once again, we were not let down. Both the husband and I got gyros. I went with the chicken and he went with the beef and lamb. If I had to chose again, I think I’d definitely go with the beef and lamb. The chicken wasn’t bad, the beef/lamb was just that delicious. There was a bit too much yogurt sauce for my taste, but that was easily resolved. Overall, the service was good and I have no complaints. Definitely a place I’d stop in again for a quick bite.

I have very mixed feelings about this place: Pros: + Excellent lavash bread, pulled fresh from the open flame oven — soft and chewy, it was perfect with the delectable tangy yogurt sauce it was served with(complimentary with an appetizer). Neutral: . Grape leaves — relatively mediocre. I’ve definitely had better ones elsewhere. It was also on the expensive side at $ 8.95 for 8 small pieces. . Good falafel wrap — large, tasty, and well-priced at $ 8.95. We asked for yogurt sauce and hot sauce on the side and it went very well with the wrap. The falafel could’ve been crispier though and it was extremely messy to eat because there was too much hummus inside. Cons: — Terrible service. Due to a serious understaffing, it was hard to grab our waitress’s attention. — Environment was insane — kids were running around, making messes, and creating chaos EVERYWHERE. I know this isn’t really under Ali Baba’s control, but I did not feel like I could just eat my food in peace. Overall, not bad, but probably better for take out if you want to avoid the service issues and chaotic environment.
