I was coming up for the Lake George Triathlon Festival and the team I was with had reserved rooms at the Rodeway Inn. When we arrived, the Rodeway seemed quiet and a little rundown, but fine. I grabbed my bike off the car and rolled it through the back door and down the hallway to the room. The nonsmoking room smelled like smoke, which annoyed me, but I figured it wouldn’t affect me too much. Outside the room, I ran into the woman who appeared to own the place, an older woman who was accompanied by a man. She asked me if I had a bike. I told her I did — I was there for a triathlon, I said. She told me I couldn’t keep it in the room. I asked her why, if there was anything in the paperwork I’d signed saying I couldn’t have a bike in the room. No, she said, but I just told you you can’t have it in the room. My bike is worth $ 5,000 and there was no way I was going to leave it outside on top of my car. I told her this and she said if I didn’t get the bike out of the room, she’d call the cops, so I went outside to talk with my team. The owner had already gotten out to the parking lot and was telling my team that if any bikes were brought into the hotel, she’d call the cops. We also had one extra person with us, whom we hadn’t paid for but she counted, and she said that if that person were to stay in one of the rooms, she’d call the cops. She told us we’d have to get an extra room for that person because she’d personally be checking the rooms throughout the night. I got fed up at that point and walked across the street to the Best Western. We rented three rooms at The Best Western for less than they were charging at the grimy, disgusting Rodeway Inn, and we were told that it was no problem keeping our bikes in the rooms. We could also have the extra person sleep on the floor on a sleeping pad for no extra charge. When I went back to the Rodeway to cancel my stay, the owner told me she couldn’t cancel the reservation because she didn’t do that. Someone else dealt with the finances. What’s that person’s name and how can I contact them? I asked. She said she wasn’t sure who it would be that day because they had many people who did the finances and she was never sure who it would be who’d be coming. Fortunately, after explaining the situation to my credit card company, the charges were dropped without much hassle. To sum it up. The place was a dump. The rooms all smelled like cigarettes. The management are terrors and the place doesn’t feel safe. I cannot say enough bad things about this place and hope it gets shut down soon or at least gets completely new management.

The staff is friendly and location of motel is very convenient to everything we wanted to do from minigolf, rafting, to shopping. I don’t know if i would say that the place needs to be updated. It is probably one of the better motels I’ve ever stayed in. The place was clean and had beds for me to sleep in which is Great! and theres cable tv where I was able to watch my ESPN highlights!!! I mean if you’re looking for a pampering service and big screen tv’s you might want to look for a hotel rather than a motel. This place was exactly what we were expecting and affordable so I am satisfied and will definitely return. We stayed there 2 separate nights btw and in 2 different rooms.

The condition of the hotel is ok. The staff is very friendly. The bed, sheets and bedspread, and TV all need to be updated. The price was way too expensive for what you get.
