Worst Indian I have ever had. The food was the frozen Indian food you buy in the grocery store but worse. My samosas were frozen in the middle and don’t get me started on the«naan».

One forceful star for a very small portioned, very average & hairy samosa chaat. More than half way through my chaat, I discovered a hair on the bottom of the bowl. I obviously stopped eating and brought this hairy discovery to the owners attention. She took the bowl from my hand and said«but you ate the whole thing». Seriously, wtf? Long story short, the rude woman argued with me then told me that I must have confused fenugreek(herb) for a hair. Icing on the cake: she charged me for the hairy samosa chaat. Seriously, wtf?

People who have written reviews obviously never have eaten Indian food… My family of five came here to eat and we enjoyed all of our plates! Great vegetarian options and meat choices too! Spices delicious!

STAYAWAYFROMTHISPLACE!!! YOUHAVEBEENWARNED. If Unilocal had an option I would give 0 stars. Food was terrible, the worst I ever had. The service was pathetic, they didn’t even clean the table for 20 minutes. The tea tasted like drain water And on top of that the hostess was extremely rude, the staff uncourteous. One of my worst experience at any restaurant.

Terrible food /customer service. 1. The plates /glasses were not clean 2. Food quality is very poor 3. Customer service is very bad and never respect them 4. They do not serve in sequential order and most frequently they give wrong items. If you are lucky, you will get the item you ordered. 5. Over priced 6. Charging compulsary Gratutity for their POOR or WORST service. they can beg near the lake instead. These are my reviews based on my visit during July 2014

Absolutely horrible restaurant. Please trust the other 1 star reviews and avoid this place. I tried this place without reading the reviews first and it was the worst mistake I made my entire vacation. Food is of the quality of week old left overs. The prices are way too high. Didn’t have too much of a problem with the wait staff, but she was for sure not the friendliest person I’ve met. Place was dirty too. Had spider webs at our seat! The owners should close this place and move on.

This is a horrible place in terms of both food and service. This place is over expensive with food tasting not even worth a penny. The place does not even deserve a single star. Please do not spend your time and money going to this restaurant Unprofessional, customer unfriendly and stingy place.

I was wandering around at Americade and decided to give this place a try instead of eating the usual Lake George Village pizza and bar food. I am not an expert on Indian food, but when my friends take me to an Indian restaurant(usually not my choice), I usually like the food. Taste of Indian is not a traditional Indian restaurant. On the back wall is a cooler filled with bottled soft drinks. It has racks stocked with potato chips and other snack food items. Chicken wings are on the menu. I suspect that the word«Indian» in the restaurant’s name is there to let potential customers know that Indian cuisine is the main type of food served there, though not the only type. I had spicy mashed potatoes wrapped in fried dough, and some soft bread called naan. Both were decent, but not great. Compared to a nice sit-down Indian restaurant, Taste of India will fare poorly. But, when compared to other dining choices in Lake George Village, it is typical, which is why I gave it a rating of three stars. I would go back if I were in the mood for something different. It has a TV screen showing Indian music videos which are an interesting change from the usual. Minimum order of $ 40 for credit card.
I don’t understand why this place has so many negative reviews. I recently came here, and thought the food was okay and the service was good. Me and my acquaintances stumbled onto this place just walking on the street. We were hungry and didn’t have a clue what we wanted to eat. We saw the sign on this place, so we walked down the alley to find Taste of India is located in a nice area. It’s right near the river, surrounded by other restaurants/bars. The restaurant also played a nice array of contemporary in Indian music. Our waitress was very kind, helpful, and prompt. We ordered a channa(chickpeas) dish, goat vindaloo, and chicken curry. I didn’t try the channa because it did not look appetizing to me. The curry and vindaloo were good. I’ve had better, but they were not bad. The major downside was that they skimped on the meat for each dish. We also had an order of naan, which was amazing. The naan tasted fresh, and was soft. What I especially enjoyed was the drink I had. It was called«Singh is King,» after the Bollywood film with the same name. It has gin, tonic, and some other ingredient in it that make’s it blue. It’s very tasty, and strong. The place is a little pricey, but the food is okay. If you are in the mood for Indian food and you are in the Lake George area, give this place a try. There are not many options for Indian food in the area, so this may be the only option.
