Lotz on the Rocks

I was visiting my mom for Mother’s Day and after dinner she turned to me and asked, «Would you like an adult dessert?» Confused, I asked what she was talking about. She explained that she heard on the radio that the bar attached to Schlotzsky’s has adult desserts — liquor infused ice cream. Well, I love dessert and alcohol infused dessert sounds amazing. Upon arrival, you have to walk in through the Schlotzsky’s and enter the bar. Both were deserted. Totally cool with me because drinking with my mom can get ugly. Our bartender Zack was friendly, introduced himself and asked what he could get us. My mom explained the adult desserts and he quickly pulled out a menu that described every possible ice cream creation and Zack said if we didn’t find anything we liked, he could make us something unique. Basically, they take an ice cream base, add liquor, add some candy bits or sauce, and then liquid nitrogen is used to freeze it into ice cream. It was awesome! I ordered an Almond Joy which uses coconut rum, amaretto, and chocolate chips. My mom wanted a white chocolate raspberry shake and Zack was happy to oblige. Overall, it was a great experience and I’d definitely go back.

Talk about something different, this place is one of a kind. their presentation of cocktails is the most unique thing I have seen anyone in havasu offer. they use liquid nitrogyn, dry ice and have specialized bartenders that bring a true experience of molecular mixology. This staff has proven that they are well trained and well versed in their mixology. Who would have guessed something so cool would be inside a Schlotzsky’s.
