Funny books is a great place to do some comic shopping. The place is small but the owner, Steve, utilizes this space efficiently without giving it a crowded feel. Lots of great titles, prices and the sales every now and then are great. On top of that, Steve is very knowledgeable, friendly and willing to assist everyone. It’s always a pleasure.

The owner is a nice, personable guy, and I applaud the local comic business. That said, the store really only stocks mainstream super-hero titles, and the physical space is extremely limited. It’s a bit uncomfortable inside the shop for people who just like to browse without being sold-to on the fly.

Just stopped by and had a great experience. The owner and I believe his daughter was outgoing and helpful. Asked great questions about what I was looking for but didn’t oversell. Really like the story packs that got the crossover issues together for the entire story plus there’s little bit of a discount which helped as well. Overall a wonderful experience. Highly recommended wish it was a little closer to home so I could become a regular.

My son and I enjoyed our visit to this shop. Nice people and pretty much everything you need. Only drawback is they don’t have room for stuff like silver age books. But lots of other great stuff makes this a great place to go.

Funny Steve runs a great local business. What can you say about a store that gets kids interested in reading and the arts? A fixture on Beverwyck for 2 decades, Back issues galore, great comic book banter from a professionally educated comic book artist(Steve himself) Something for everyone in the family!

This is probably the nicest comic shop I’ve been to nice moving to the area from NYC. The small brick façade hides a treasure trove of comics and collectibles, jam-packed and VERY neatly organized by the friendly Steve. Subscribe to his mailing list and you’ll be kept in the loop whenever there are sales or deals-many are well worth checking out.

Went here today with my young son. The store is small, but the young woman who worked there was very helpful– looked for posters and comics for us, and was as helpful as anywhere I’ve been. They had a good selection and plenty for young and old. I don’t live in the area, but will definitely go back whenever in the Parsippany area. I hope people support this place, because it’s a great shop.

Funny Books — passionate about comic books Citizens of Lake Hiawatha should be very proud to have an establishment like«Funny Books» in their(our) town. Their«passion» is comic books and graphic novels and related collateral items like posters, artwork, figurines, etc. It’s hard to find dedicated retail establishments of this kind and it’s extremely refreshing to have a place where you can find just about any«comic» or «graphic novel» that you can think of. The people there really know their stuff too and take the time to bring you up to date will all the products, storylines, and opinions of artists, writers and new releases. The place looks nice too. It’s colorful and bright and clean. It’s very organized and well laid out with easy to find items arranged together. They have lots of collector’s items too, and much more. At the very least it’s fun to just walk in and browse — — - — - — - It makes you feel like a kid again.
