Can’t say anything about the food because I only had a few drinks, but the bars staff is great!

Strange location, would not have gone if not suggested by a guy at Aunt Teaks and Uncle Junks. It looks like a strange dive, but the staff was friendly, the locals were nice, the food was great.

Oh man. The Tiki Bar. Each summer my friends and I make at least two pilgrimages to this oasis in the mountains. The Tiki Bar is a little slice of Myrtle Beach only 40 minutes away from Asheville. Nestled behind a little motel, you can enjoy the fine cabana-esque patio area. There’s ample table space for you to enjoy the sun beneath a tin roof. There’s a pool, and a chilly river. The pool seems to be more for the kids, while the river is a great spot for a brisk swim. Drinks here aren’t as cheap as you’d imagine for a little hideaway spot, but it’s my feeling that you’re paying for the ambiance. It’s a mini vacation. You can walk around in your swim trunks, grab a beer, and order some hot wings, treating yourself to a weekend adventure that you deserve. The bartenders are all sweet hearts, and are happy to serve locals, bikers, and weekend warriors like myself. During the summer they have karaōke on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. Getting here from Asheville is a bit of a hike, and there are some twisty roads that must be traversed. A designated driver is highly encouraged, especially if you’re going to take full advantage of this wonderful little bar and its exquisite beach house ambiance.
