Consulate Health care / Lake Mary Health and Rehab Facility

Do not put a loved one here. My mother was transferred to this facility from the hospital after a knee replacement. It took 2 hours for a nurse to evaluate her. The ambulance driver had to go find a staff person to sign off on the transfer from the hospital. It took 2 hours for a nurse to evaluate her for admittance. The facility is severely understaffed. It is clean and the staff members were nice, but they cannot do their job because there is not enough staff. My mother waited 40 minutes after hitting the call button and no one came! So she has to slowly make it across the room to the bathroom. She was not supposed to walk unassisted, but had no other option. That is dangerous. I saw several people, who were not staff and not patients, wandering about looking into patient rooms. Not safe!

The only reason they get one star is you cant give zero stars this is a terrible place lack of care lack of food choices all around a terrible place to put a sick or rehabing person. IT LOOKS AWSOME it beautifully decorated and has nice gardens. They should spend some money on taking care of the sick. Then when you leave about a year and half later they will send you bills for services and that show you were just there and you owe them money the doctors are seldom there patients are unsupervised dont walk away run away fast faster keep going dont look back

Please do not put an elderly person in this facility. The right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing and they basically have employees who have no sense of responsibility for their patients.
Also, you should be aware, that doctors only come to the facility to visit a patient once a week at best.
Medical prescriptions are not monitored by an overseeing physician. I left several messages to speak to the name of my parent’s doctor and no one ever returned the call. It’s not a facility I would recommend at all.
