Normally love Sagebrush and am a regular customer; however, today’s experience was horrible. Called ahead because we had a party of ten and was told the wait was about half an hour. Got there just before a half hour was up, and was told it would be another half hour. We understood because it was quite busy. When the next half hour was up, we did question how much longer and were told it could be another half hour(in total 1 ½ hours). We decided to wait because we had already invested the time and we had driven from Rochester. Then the really frustrating part began… we noticed three tables(each seating 4) had become available and were right next to each other. We thought we were set. But, instead of pushing the tables together or even giving us the option to sit at the tables as three groups, the tables were given to parties of 2 who had literally just walked in. At this point, it was time to say something. When I asked why we were not given the tables that had come available, we were told that«they do not push tables together» and we would have to wait for a table for ten. Ummmm … first problem. They have no tables for ten. Second problem, then why weren’t we given the option to sit separately at the three that had clearly come available after we arrived. I asked why we weren’t told this initially, and the extremely unhelpful hostess with short blonde hair(Siobhan), informed me that we hadn’t asked! I’m sorry, I don’t know one restaurant who doesn’t put tables together. Why would I ask that question. Then to make matters even worse, I was basically told by the same rude hostess that«they are a high volume restaurant» so pretty much tough rocks! When I asked to speak to a manager, was told he was on the phone. I’d have to call later. My advice, if you’re looking to feel valued as a customer, don’t go here. Obviously, their success has gone to their head and everyone is simply a number to them. Not sure how her manager would feel about losing a party of ten to two parties of 2, but I’m sure he wouldn’t care since the hostess made it very clear that ten more would just walk in the door after we left. Ended up being a good day, as we headed to the Buffalo Wild Wings down the road, were greeted by the friendly host and seated right away(with tables pushed together!)

We went to the restaurant with a group of 10 for lunch. We called ahead first and where told it was ok with a large group. When we got there we where told it would be a while before they could get a big table. After 40 min and we saw a group of tables given up that could be put together. We ask and they told us(after the long wait) that they don’t put table together and we can’t seat large groups. The hostess was rude about it and would not get the manager. After and hour we left!

Amazing atmosphere! Walked in and immediately fell in love with this restaurant. Very clean and the décor is super cute. My fiancé and I ordered the guac as an appetizer and ordered fajitas to split for entrée. Guac was really good and a huge portion we couldn’t finish! Chicken and shrimp was seasoned to perfection in fajitas and my fiancé really enjoyed the steak! Our server was great also and anytime he wasn’t near there was always someone walking the floors checking on everyone. Only complaint is the chips were kinda hard especially after they cooled down. I’m sad we don’t have one of these in FL.

The GREATEST Mexican around! The portions are larger than you would expect for the price point. I would strongly suggest saving room for the Fried Cheesecake Dessert! With the size of the portions it is more than enough for 2 to share and it is DELICIOUS! There are more than enough TV’s to comfortably catch a game with a group or request a booth tucked away for a more intimate dinner. A lot of options and a lot of deliciousness!

They have the best chips and salsa! Usually takes a little longer but that’s because it’s one of Lake Orion’s most popular restaurants. The food is great

Popped in here to grab a drink with a friend earlier this week. The wait staff was very prompt at the bar and even refreshed my water while I was deciding on my drink. After a little bit of talking and hanging out, we decided to get some food. I got the Carne Asada Burrito, I have had better but it was a really good portion. I think it was $ 8.99 and an additional $ 1.50 to get it «wet,» it left me wishing it was a little more«wet» because the sauce was good. Two drinks, two dinners. The bill was $ 34 without tip… not bad!

Long lines are a regular issue but the atmosphere is fun and the chips and salsa can’t be beat. Top that off with one of their amazing margaritas and that’s all you need! The rest of the food is good but people always go there for the environment, chips and salsa.

So I am enjoying the most darling waitress at Sagebrush. We just had an in-depth conversation about which decadent dessert my daughter and I can destroy. Thank you, Chelsea!

Amazing drinks made by lovely bar staff! The food is pretty good and the ambiance seemed nice. Mainly rating on customer service; the bartenders were great.

It’s very spacious. The food is OK and the portion is large enough. Very good for parties and big groups. I was there for dinner and really enjoyed it. If you’re looking for a quite place to have a dinner date here’s not the best option, however you can still enjoy a dinner with a friend or group of people. Lots of big TVs around, so if you wanna watch a game not so hard to choose a seat. Service was good, not the best buy good enough. I ordered a hard taco and i got a soft one. I never asked for replacement, but I’m sure she would fix it if i was asking. The other thing is their parking lot in the back of the restaurant. There were not enough space at front but there were lots of space behind it. Btw, the best part of my dinner was the chip off chili.

Mexican is my favorite food. I absolutely love it and could eat it every day. To me the biggest difference between good Mexican food and great Mexican food is how good the margaritas and salsa are; and Sagebrush definitely satisfied both requirements. Entering the busy Saturday night restaurant we obviously had a wait. No problem, worth it. While we waiting we headed on over to the bar and got started with a ‘small’ el Presidente patron margarita. Did I say small? I meant a 12 ounce shot glass. It was very strong, but still delicious. I can’t stand a margarita that is extremely sweet and this was definitely not that. When we got seated after a hefty wait, we were able to sit outside on a beautiful evening. Everyone ordered fajitas of different variety. My personal steak fajitas were seasoned well and with all accompaniments were delicious. The salsa was not extremely spicy but had some good heat to it.(I wouldn’t ask for ‘mild’ salsa though if you don’t like the regular salsa because it looked like watered down tomato paste) I definitely recommend going to Sagebrush if you’re in the area and want some good Mexican food and some good margaritas!

I am currently sitting here at sagebrush and I am NOT happy at all for three reasons. 1. The male manager and the three girls at the hostess stand decided to make a prank call from one of their cell phones to another worker. The male manager called: he and pretended to fire her with everyone around him laughing. He then pulled the phone away, laughing, covered the speaker, and said«i can’t do this, she’s in tears». He then handed to phone to the hostess and the hostess with redish hair(had her hair in a bun) amd she tried to calm the one on the phone down while everyone else was laughing. That is absolutley HORRIBLE and flat out BADMANAGEMENT 2. Our wait was suppose to be 20 – 25 minutes, well, an hour later, we were seated. The hostesses are flat out rude and disrespectful. The young girl with long brown hair and glasses needs to calm down and stop running between people amd running into people. It’s not that hard to say«excuse me» and WALK around people. 3. After getting ICECOLDFOOD(1 plate was ice cold one time, the other two were ice cold 3 times), the manager(male manager, same one who did the prank call. I believe he was Mexican) came over and was a flat out asshole. The plates were hot, the rice and beans were ice cold, and my enchalada was ice cold. I told him about the problem with my mean and my mother’s meal having the same issues amd he told me he would bring us hot sides of the rice and beans. He came back with ONE side for both of us to share and it was so hot it was impossible to eat. He did this on purpose to be a smart ass. There was no apologies, nothing. He never offered to say I’m sorry or take it off our bill or nothing. The manager tolled his eyes, gave us sarcastic looks when we told him what was wrong, and was flat out rude. I really wanted to like this place because it’s described by many as the best Mexican food ever. I am not one of those people… We called ahead and still had an hour wait, it was a Friday night so I’ll let that slide although still annoying because there was nowhere to do the waiting. And my thought was if they were that busy the food must be worth waiting for! We were huddled in a group by the hostess stand leaning on the stacked high chairs and two out of the four of us are very pregnant so not super comfy. The most annoying part of my experience here was how they kept calling people’s names who were waiting for tables. Calling over a microphone. Very disruptive to the dining experience and any conversations taking place. Sounded like they were announcing bingo numbers or something. Get a pager system or something. The entire time I was there all I could think about was how it smelled like they were burning the fajitas instead of cooking food with a delicious aroma. I was planning to get the fajitas and despite the burnt smell went ahead with it. They were pretty bland and didn’t have much of a flavor at all. Disappointment. The Mexican pizza that my friend ordered looked delicious. The chips were the best part, very salty and thin! Although maybe I was just happy to have some food after the wait!

Been here multiple times over the years. The food is always good. I usually either get the chimi or the Mexican pizza. Never have had a bad meal.

I’m not sure what the difference is between call ahead seating and making a reservation, but they don’t take reservations, so do yourself a favor and call ahead of time to get yourself on the waiting list, because it doesn’t matter the time of day, this place is ALWAYS busy! Their salsa is amazing, very fresh and is made with a generous amount of cilantro. My only complaint on the salsa is that they start you off with a rather small portion of it and you have to ask for several refills. Asking isn’t what bothers me, but I feel like it causes our server unnecessary trips back to the kitchen. Their meal potions should leave the average person with leftovers and the pricing is fair to the amount of food you are given. On average, my husband and I spend around $ 40 a visit for two adult draft beverages and 2 meals without appetizers or dessert. While the service isn’t horrible, it isn’t anything to rave about, but that is most likely because they are always busy taking care of their continual flow of customers. Bottom line, if you are in a rush, this isn’t the place to go, but if you are looking for good food at a reasonable price, your stomach will be more than full after leaving here.

Good Mexican food for the area, not the best I’ve ever experienced. Homemade chips and salsa are typical. Mexican pizza, fish tacos and chicken rice soup are each wonderful. The guacamole and cheese dip appetizers are NOT worth the price — save you hard earned cash. Plenty of food for the money which is what the patrons in this region expect. Biggest downfall is the self-created supply and demand. At any given time there is typically a 45 min wait and on the weekends it can be upwards of 2.5 hours. We generally carry out because we simply will not wait for average food.

This place is a 5!!! If you give it less– what’s wrong with you! So affordable! The best fish tacos you will ever eat!!! I’ve had tons of fish tacos all over the US and once you have these you’re screwed because nothing compares. But honestly everything’s incredible. Mexican Pizza, Tortilla Soup, Burrito, etc. It’s Tex-Mex so don’t expect authentic. You could go down the road to Casa for that but you won’t get this atmosphere and portions. Casa’s inconsistent and service is slow. This place is a Lake Orion staple. Usually a wait on weekends so plan accordingly or get one of their stellar margaritas.

Amazinf Mexican food! Their shrimp fajitas are the best and everything is reasonably priced. Roseanna is my boyfriend and I’s favorite waitress. She always strikes up a good conversation, is friendly, and gives great service. She remembers us whenever we go in and knows what we want before we ever even tell her. The restaurant itself is nice and clean, it can be crowded due to its popularity but I’ve never had a problem with it. They have a nice outdoor porch in the back and the staff will never let you feel forgotten. Food is amazing, their chicken tenders are the best I have ever had(and I went through a «order chicken tenders wherever I went» phase).

I’ve been wanting to try this place forever and many people suggested it but what a disappointment! Long wait, which we had anticipated, but once we finally sat down it took forever just to get a drink order in and at that point we were ready to place our food order but the waitress wasn’t. We watched tables get seated after us get their food and leave and we still didn’t have our food. We had a party of six which I don’t think was that large. The table next to us was bigger and got seated at the exact same time and had their dessert before we had our dinner. We had gone through at least 3 – 4 bowls of chips before we even ordered! Food was ok. I wasn’t blown away which I had expected to be. I kept asking for salt(which they don’t keep on the table) and never got any with my chips. My husband waited at least 15 min for a drink refill but we just never saw our waitress. I honestly don’t know what the fuss was all about.

Love this place, even if you’re not hungry, its one of the best spots in Lake Orion to have a beer and enjoy the atmosphere. The food, however, is always hot and tasty. Their homemade chicken soup is REALLY good as is their chili. They also over a HUGE chimichanga that has to way over a 1 lb easy! Parking can be a hassle as most of the time, you just gotta find a spot on the road out front or down a side street and the wait time can be long if you don’t come early. Also, there isn’t much room for patrons waiting to be seated. You basically have to find some floor space by the door or an open seat at the bar, otherwise you’re in the way of the staff. Overall, go here, eat here, and enjoy.
