Let me begin by saying that I’m not a big fan a complaining, so I will start this with how wonderful the telephone and front desk service was at this office, what a lovely group of ladies. However, I brought my little Henry in for what I thought was some bladder issues since he was holding his pee for unusually long hours. Dr. Smith said she would need a urine sample and that they would take Henry outside to collect one, when I explained to her that he doesn’t usually pee on a leash, she then said they could needle extract the urine by sticking a needle into his bladder. I said «Just try on the leash and see if that works», I didn’t want him to get a needle stuck in his belly and my kids did not like that idea either. A few minutes later we hear from the exam room Henry crying out and we’re horrified to hear they went ahead without my consent with the needle extraction. I have the worse luck with women doctors, they seem to have horrible listening skills and I will never go back to this group. Now seeking a veterinarian with good communication skills.

Dr Dieter let my dogs lump go and did not biopsy it for 2 years after we noticed it. I trusted her. My dog is now going to die. The tumor was mast cell cancer and it has now spread to her lymph nodes and she has a very grim prognosis. Dr. Dieter would tell me over the huge number of visits– «I am not worried about it, it is just a fatty tumor». Well it wasn’t and now it has cost my service dog her life. We are on the Optimum Wellness Plan. If Dr. Dieter would have biopsied or aspirated it years ago– it could have been removed and she would not be in this horrible situation, where it has now spread to her Lymph Nodes.

This place has a great business model, misdiagnose easily treatable conditions with highly intensive treatment option then couple with $ 600/​yr pet dental program.
Luckily my cat is fine and so is my wallet since I will never be back. These people are shysters.

Used this location for over a year for both dog & cat. Put up with the constant sales pitches to buy products and health plans. When it came time to refill a prescription for thyroid medication they insisted I bring my pet in for a $ 35 blood test– reasonable.
Got there, and after charging for that, plus $ 39 office visit they would only sell me a 30 day supply of medication unless I agreed to another $ 150 test for liver function. Pet
fine– no symptoms… I felt like me and my pet were being held hostage — for bait & switch services. Sorry– lost my business.

They were just OK… wish they had spent as much time caring for my dog as they did trying to sell me a pet care policy. They weren’t focused on my pet, just sells.

I recently made this my clinic for both my precious dog and cat. The benefits are many: they are open til 7:00 seven days a week. They are affordable. The location is great, right in downtown Lake Oswego and the clinic is really nice.
What I appreciate the most, however, is the quality of care. They were able to find a medication that my cat can tolerate when two other private vets told me there is only one that would treat her condition (so she’s lived with it for two years). I feel very grateful.
They saw my dog on short notice for a serious condition for which he was previously seen at Dove Lewis. Only he was given the correct diagnosis and the correct medicine at Banfield, at ¹⁄₃ the cost. I still love Dove Lewis but they just stabilized him. I feel really good now that I know what’s going on with him and it’s been treated.
From the receptionist, to the vet tech, to the vet I felt really cared for. They were genuinely kind and considerate with my pets. They did all of the treatments and tests right in front of me.
I signed up for a care plan for my dog. Usually I wouldn’t be interested; however, I saved money the very first trip. In addition, it costs for the year less than I paid to have my dogs teeth cleaned and dental cleaning is included.
I’m quite happy with my new vet clinic. This is more rambling than I normally do, but my pets are everything to me.

I am always hesitant to visit large «chain» vet clinics like this, because in the past when visiting a different Banfield location, I felt like just another number and the experience was very cold and unwelcoming. Please note, my dogs are the absolute most important part of my life, and I expect them to receive premium veterinary care. However, due to a recommendation, I hesitantly decided to try out this new Banfield location and I am very glad I did. The staff are wonderful, they are welcoming, attentive, and understanding. The location is sprawling and up to date. The reception area is spacious enough that you can keep dogs a safe distance away if there are aggression issues, or possible contagion concerns. The other thing I appreciate, is they keep you informed every step of the way. They let you know exactly what tests they need to run and why, they pull it up on their computer and can present you with a running total prior to everything being performed. I just feel very confident bringing my dogs there. I have been a handful of times since they opened, as I have an aging basset hound that seems to have a new health issue every week, and they truly treat us like family. Very glad to have found this location, and we will continue to be loyal clients. Thanks!
