1st time here. On super bowl Sunday. I liked it. Good service. A crowd… but not so crowded. Food was enjoyable. Sports bar worthy. I’ll be back.

We goners all the time. Great location for some good beer and relatively cheap food. Would recommend for a good time!

One of the best sports bars in PDX with great service and really great food. As others have mentioned they have made many positive upgrades here and the results speak volumes. The bartenders and servers do a great job taking care of everyone and genuinely care about providing excellent service. The menu has been reworked to deliver a variety of favorite pub style plates that don’t disappoint and can challenge a lot of local favorite food options. The owners are great and are almost always in the house. Highly recommended.

i welcome comments from other people! i will update my star rating after a visit. i received a nice not from Eddie and Sandi — the new owners. they are correct, the police inolved incidents were five years ago when i quit frequenting the establishment. i look forward to meeting them and hope they will bring back the old Hanko’s neighbourhood friendly bar! and no more strip tease pole dancing action by drunken vixens on the pool tables! sorry guys, go to the east side of portland for that action! thank you Eddie and Sandi — be in soon and look forward to meeting you. I have been a customer since it was John’s Meat Market when Mountain Park was newly established.

A great neighborhood place, open late and a good bar menu. They have made many improvements over the last year, to both their menu and décor. All around a fun place to go whether you are watching a game, playing big buck hunter or pub trivia. Always a good crowd and they even do karaōke on Friday and Saturday.

My favorite place to go. If your looking for something upscale this might not be your place. But if your looking for a good environment to drink and watch sports this is the place. When I first started coming here their food wasn’t very great but since they have done alot of work in their kitchen with their menu and staff. Bartenders are awesome people Noone I would rather unwind with. Hankos all the way

Hankos has been around many years, got new owners in 2014. It is a typical sports bar with tv’s and pool tables. It can be uncomfortably crowded at times, then empty during the day. Great beer prices for Lake O, cheap pints at $ 2(Rolling rock, Miller). Food prices are moderate($ 7-$ 12 range). Downside is the kitchen usually runs slow, and they are understaffed during peak periods… so getting a drink or food order takes excessive time.

This place has changed three fold since the business has recently swapped ownership. The establishment used to feel like a run down sports bar that had seen better days, but was always a good place to go for good company, games on TV, pool/darts/shuffle board/ping pong and good drinks. But now it’s been given a facelift and even some Botox in certain places; mostly the food menu. What used to be mediocre food has transformed to some damn good burgers, nachos, salads and my personal favorite; hot wings(not your traditional wings). Being a wing fan for so many years and only finding a few decent places that can satisfy my taste buds. This place has made the list and not just on the list, these wings are in contention for number one. If you’re in the area and want a quick bite to go with a good televised sporting event or just a good place for friends and family to get together. Don’t hesitate to suggest this little newly rejuvenated gem. I know it’s in a highbrow town, but that’s not the attitude you will experience inside these doors. TRYTHEWINGS…

Solid dive bar in LO. The food and beer and all of that is typical for a bar, nothing to blow you away but the food is good. There are plenty of TV’s, pool tables and shuffle board. It does seem to be a bit cleaner than it was under the old owners. I’ve been coming in here for the past year and the new owners seem to be making upgrades but without changing the overall feel of a neighborhood joint.

I recently started going to this place about once a week. So far I have had nothing but great experiences. Its what you expect and hope for in a local tavern. The food is better than average for tavern food, the drinks are very affordable, and the staff has already gotten to know what I want when I come in. PERFECT! don’t shy away from this place as from what I can see they are renovating and upgrading all over.

Fast, friendly service. Good drink selection both beer/bourbon. Variety of good bar-fare food. Pretty good burgers. Only complaint is the lack of a/c, can get pretty stuffy/warm.

I don’t care what anyone says. you guys rock. You helped us host a surprise birthday party for my recently returned to Oregon veteran son with a bunch of his battle buddies and school friends he hasn’t seen in a long time. Anyone who could put up that crew is cool in my book. By the second drink no one cared what the bathrooms looked like, or how the food tasted… it was all about friends and you helped make it happen. And it took me back to those beach parties I had in college… you know the ones with the bathrooms. Thanks. again.

Its not a terrible bar, but its kind of a drunk’s bar. Dimly lit«sports» bar where the bar area is cut off from a more well-lit area with sofa’s(in a bar?) and a pool table or two. The bathrooms are grimey and they only had one bartender on staff for happy hour. You could tell she could have used some help. Service was good, maybe because I sat at the bar. I had the potato skins which were heaven after 4 glasses of whiskey, which means they’re probably mediocre at best if you’re remotely sober. My bill wasn’t «buttered up», maybe because I didn’t assume what prices were going to be and simply asked.

Not a bad joint. I applaud the bar for having such a bad-ass selection of music on the jukebox however Hankos gets a frowny face for turning down the stereo when I put on some Wednesday 13. However the fact they had Wednesday 13 in the first place made me a happy camper! Other than that its basically your typical bar… beer, booze, greasy food. They have a few pool tables and video games. I must say however the bartender I had that night was pretty much a few fries short of a happy meal if you ask me. I ordered a tuaca bomb and was pretty surprised when he couldn’t figure out how to poor some redbull in a pounder and hand me a shot of tuaca, instead he looked at me like I was an idiot and proceeded to pour me some mixed drink with neither tuaca nor redbull. I guess because I am a chick I am forced to live off appletinis and fruity drinks with umbrellas or at least that is what this asshole thought. I then explained to the poor fellow what I had actually ordered and kindly told him how to make my drink. After another 5 minutes or so I got my beloved drink and headed back to my table where I was greeted with some traditional greasy bar food. Despite the horrendous crowed and the not so fantastic bartender I managed to enjoy myself. Maybe it was the company, maybe it was the music, or maybe it was the copious amounts of liquor consumed but something about that night at Hankos was just what I needed to prepare myself for the hellish day ahead of me.

A good sports bar. Nothing that takes it above any other, but if you’re looking for a place to get a drink and hang out, it’s great. Don’t expect to have the best service though, it’s usually understaffed and take a bit to get your drinks. It’s a freaking bar though, go up and grab a beer and sit down. If your looking for tuxed waiters don’t go to a bar in the first place. Go have fun, get a drink and enjoy the game.

This is a nice little sports bar for a quick stop. I came in here recently for a quick drink after work. They’ve moved a few things around in here and improved the TV’s. They pour nicely. So one drink was enough for me. They have a variety of bar food items as well as sandwiches and general fare. My favorite thing about this and other places now a days is it’s non smoking. Definitely an improvement. I’ll be back to try them out again. They usually have a coupon in the Entertainment Book.

Golden Tee but NEVER on-line… Usually under staffed so if you sit at a table or on the couch’s you’ll have to get up to get more booze. Bar food– MEH. Ok beer selection and strong beverages. Close to home but I rarely go in. Again, the Golden Tee in NEVER working correctly…

My wife and I call this place Stanko’s because the first thing you get hit with when you walk in is the overwhelming stank of urinal biscuits. The drinks are strong, the food is bar food, lots of screens for watching sports, nice servers, pool tables — OK But the rest rooms! The last time I stopped in it looked like someone had slaughtered a Yettie in rest room. Thinking that you could wash your hands in the sink and walk away cleaner would be an insult to your junk. The whole place seams to be on an odor-orbit around the honey bucket, supper urinal biscuit, Yettie death closet restroom. Kinda like chowing down at the outhouse. Other than that it’s OK.
