STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE! While Dr Anderson is pleasant and personable and her front office person, Karen, is also super nice– don’t let that fool you. This office practices very aggressive dentistry. Dr Anderson told me it was very hard to make a living in Lake Oswego because everyone was so conscientious about their dental health. I became suspicious when I was told I was on the verge of bone loss and needed deep cleaning and planing every 3 months– which my dental plan didn’t pay for. I was also told that I needed a lot of work on my two front teeth because they were too short. I declined all the extra stuff and went back a few times for cleanings until I was told that I had all 4’s and 5’s and it was absolutely necessary for me to have these procedures started immediately. That last cleaning was extremely painful– much more aggressive than any I’d ever had. The next time I went in, (I was going to give them one more chance) the stand in dentist was very hateful, rude, and condescending. He became very agitated and aggressive when I told him I didn’t agree, what had happened on my previous cleaning, and that I wanted a second opinion before I had anything else done. I left the office that day without a cleaning and very distraught, as I have never been treated so disrespectfully. The information they were giving me was in direct contrast to everything I had been told by dentists in Minneapolis, Dallas, Albuquerque, and Lubbock. Since I am very attentive to my teeth, I knew nothing had significantly changed in my mouth– I found a different dentist in Lake Oswego and before I shared my precious OR dental experience, he confirmed my suspicions– there is nothing wrong my teeth and I don’t need additional cleanings, deep cleanings, or any restorative work.

Dr. Margaret Anderson (on Boones Ferry, in Lake Grove/​Lake Oswego) is my new favorite dentist. She is not only very skilled in dentistry, but also does a good job of informing her patients about what is going on and what needs to be done. The staff in her office is also very personable and highly competent. I no longer mind going to the dentist at all.
