I have been coming to the Lake for over 20 years and have eaten at most of the lasting restaurants in the area. This is my favorite restaurant. The English cut of prime rib is consistently good and just the right size. I love that they offer a smaller cut(8 ozs) of prime rib, as most restaurants do not. The service is always exceptional. Most waiters do not stand out in one’s memory beyond the next day, but I have had waiters there who I still remember years later. I always look forward to dining here.

We’ve been coming to the lake for years. This was the first time we went to Bentley’s. We will be back! We started on the patio to hear live music. We chose to eat there instead off using our reservations inside. Wait staff — Monica– has been there for years so she knew the menu and was very accommodating to our relaxed pace. We started with martinis. the bartender really knew the right way to make a great Martini — no small task! I then had the spinach salad — excellent. Finished with grilled lobster with cilantro lime butter sauce. Fabulous! 4 oz. rock lobster was under $ 20. Worth it! My husband had the prime rib sandwich which he liked. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. We chatted with other guests. All in all, a great dining experience.

Delicious food. Friendly staff. Awesome environment. 4 out of 5 because the waitress forgot our appetizer. I ordered the chicken breast Oscar with a side of crab legs because that was cheaper than the crab leg entrée. GREATCHOICE! I will be ordering that chicken again next time I go. And the creamed spinach was also good.

Me and my parents have been eating here regularly for many years and it’s always been amazing! Every single person in this place makes you feel like they’ve known you for years and the food is spectacular.

A local favorite, always consistent. The atmosphere is old English and has a great patio with a view of the Lake. Friendly servers. The water glass is always full. The prime rib is great choice. Mayfair dressing from St. Louis is the house dressing and has a hint of garlic. Reservations are recommended

Have been coming to the lake for 21 years and have driven by Bentley’s a million times, but for whatever reason, never went inside. Big mistake. Bentley’s will now be on our rotation of restaurants to visit while at the lake. Ambiance is cozy dark like an English pub should be, and the food and staff were excellent. I had the Chicken Wellington and it was outstanding, so was my wife’s filet and crab legs. Who knew?

Oh, Bentley’s. You had at least a 4-star review coming with the fantastic drinks on the beautiful patio followed by probably the best French Onion soup I ever had and then… then…you bring me a flavorless steak. Dammit! Steaks are supposed to be your thing. I recommend coming to Bentley’s for drinks and apps on their scenic patio. We did just that, then moved inside for dinner. I was willing to overlook our overly cocky waiter who was«hooking us up» with things like rolls. Wow, thanks!(sarcasm) Everything was going great with the drinks, the Oysters Rockefeller, the delicious French Onion soup. Then the salads came. They were disappointing, mostly iceberg lettuce. Oh well, whatever, we had steaks coming! Out comes what looks like a wonderful filet mignon with absolutely no seasoning. I had ordered a side of bearnaise sauce that should have taken care of that, but it was horrible. It lacked the acid that should come from a bearnaise sauce and just tasted like chicken stock. My boyfriend(who cooks for a living) said it probably came from an instant mix. Noooo! I probably would have given them 3 stars until we went to another steakhouse the following night that did everything right, reminding me how wrong my steak was here.

I was impressed when we pulled in the parking lot, then was a little scarred when we entered the front door… there’s a smell… not sure what… musty? …old? not terrible just not good. The smell dissipated as soon as we entered the dining room… just smelled deliciousness. I loved dining room at first sight. It’s not brightly lit… I don’t like bright dinner lighting. We chose to go out on the patio first. There were 2 guys playing acoustics and I should remember there names but I can’t dern it! We started with a Scallop appetizer, a Margherita and cosmopolitan on the magnificent patio. All 3 were great and the Margherita was really good… it was not at all that sugary sweet or sour that a Margherita can sometimes be. The view, waterfall, and the great music set the mood on a Friday to forget the hectic week we were wanting to leave behind. Our server was good and clean but it looked like her apron had been used for weeks… a little skeevy. We could have stayed on the patio all evening, but to get the full menu we had to go inside. I ordered the Bentley cut prime rib with the broccoli hollandaise and my husband had the scallop entrée with the rice pilaf. We both the house dressing, Mayfair. It’s not offered everywhere but it’s one of my favorites! The dressing was perfect tasting. The salad is tossed and there was just a little too much dressing for my liking… next time I’ll order it on the side. They served us warm rolls which were nothing special, but we both like butter and their butter was phenomenal!!! We will normally just share a roll and probably not finish it but we each ate 2 because we LOVED the butter. Our server told us it was Grassland. I will look for it at the market. The scallops were rich. The steak was perfectly prepared and very very flavorful. The broccoli hollandaise was done better than I anticipated(I cleaned it up) and even the rice was great for a rice pilaf, the rice was not overdone. I had a glass of Cabernet with dinner. It was good, but I have a pet peeve about red wine glasses, didn’t like theirs, and eh… I got over my peeve We opted to skip dessert and get back out on that patio. We could the guys were still playing and the sunset was calling our names. We had grasshoppers and crème de menthe and both above the average. must have been he had 2 and I had three. They just kept getting better. Lol We listened and danced to the music. They were awesome and when I remember their names I’ll update this review. They did more than attempt my crazy requests from Puff the Magic Dragon, Don Williams, Bridge Over Troubled Water… etc. We had a delightful experience here. We will be back again.

All the stars are for the fantastic french onion soup. I promise you it’s the best you’ve ever had anywhere– in the world. Outstanding. The rest of their food is usually good, not fantastic, but good enough. We frequent this restaurant just for the soup.

An oldie but a goodie! I have been coming with my family to Bentleys for years. It’s an English style steak and seafood place. I have always enjoyed the staff, they are very good at what they do. Just went again on Thursday night and had a lovely meal. I had a glass of Riesling I really enjoyed from the wine menu on the table. The I had the nights special which was French onion steak, what a great idea! Soo good with those amazing caramelized sauce soaked onions and greyere cheese melted on a delicious steak… Perfect! I hope that’s something that comes up on special again! I had the fingerling potatoes as a side they were good and the salad with house Mayfair dressing was nice and fresh and a good size for a dinner salad. It was raining this night unfortunately so I couldn’t take advantage of their lovely new patio bar but one of these days I hope to get a chance! Good food great staff always a nice time !

Started out with appetizers, crab Rangoon and scallops scampi style on the half shell. Both excellent. Dana had the house salad, Jim had the spinach salad. Both good and crispy and great homemade dressings. Jim had the evenings special of filet medallions with a shrimp cream sauce. Dana had the prime rib. I had the ahi tuna salad. The vegetable side was broccoli with hollandaise sauce. The waiter was attentive, everything was served either hot or cold as it should be. Food was prepared correctly and was very tasty. All in all a very nice experience. Would we go back? Yes. But would go back more often if they stopped allowing smoking in the bar. Somehow smoke doesn’t understand it is supposed to stay in there and drifts into the dining area.

Love this place! I enjoy it more with each visit. The outdoor patio is spectacular. Beautiful views and wonderful service. Sit outside to enjoy a bottle of wine and some appetizers before having dinner inside. I would get the scallops(they tend to run out early, so hope they have some!) and cocktail shrimp with a bottle of Drylands Sauvignon Blanc. If you love Marlborough or New Zealand wine, this is the one for you. On the wine list their by the glass selection is mediocre at best, but ask for the wine list and go with a premium bottle, it’s completely worth it and not overly expensive. This place is known for their prime, and it is fantastic. I would go with the Bentley cut because the English cut is too thin and you don’t get a real taste of their quality cuts of meat. If you don’t like meat or want to switch it up, go with the chicken florentine. Sounds ordinary, but it truly is a wonderful dish and large enough to share. Great desserts as well, they are all homemade by one of the waiters! Key lime is a fan favorite. I love it here because it isn’t overly crowded and the atmosphere isn’t stuffy. You can definitely come in casual or dressy attire and fit in.

The restaurant holds some nostalgia for me. I love that there are still some of the old standards still here at the lake. But unfortunately, the food here was really lackluster dated and just not appetizing. It seems like there is no interest here in anything remotely culinary. I’m really surprized that this place has survived all these years because the food is certainly not up to par. I love the old school places and wish that Arrowhead were still around.(I can’t believe they let that one go) but just because you are in a touristy area does not mean that you should not care about what you serve. The amount of dollars spent here on real estate you would think the restaurants would be MUCH better than they are. sad.

Want red meat or seafood at The Lake? Bentley’s is as good as the others. The waitstaff is well-trained, and they don’t wear t-shirts with«Bentley’s» screen-printed on them. The full-service bar is well-stocked. The wine list is what you get in Mid-MO. Prime rib is Bentley’s signature entrée. It’s ample and comes as ordered — rare to well. Sides complement all meals well. The desserts are made in-house. Priced about right for what you get. If you’ve got time to enjoy a meal, make reservations at Bentley’s.

IMPRESSIVE food for the lake of the Ozarks. We visit«the Lake» occasionally and find it hard to have a nice dinner out with our older family members. Everywhere is bars, pizza and fried food. Bentley’s is one of a handful of very good, very old-fashioned restaurants with a great menu of steaks and seafood. While the food here cannot compare to a 5-Star in say, St. Louis, we were VERY impressed with the salads, appetizers, steaks and service. Wine prices were VERY reasonable by the bottle and the atmosphere is perfect for friends or family who want to have a conversation. Most people dress«lake nice,» meaning jeans and a collared shirt – but it’s the lake, so shorts and t-shirts can be found here too. Prime Rib is their specialty and it was superb. Some seats have a water view. Décor is rather traditional, dated, Old-English. Our meal was well worth what we paid. Entres are $ 15-$ 45. Not cheap – but if you want great food at the Lake, but Bentley’s on your list. It’s been here forever.
