I had an inkling for Mexican cuisine last Friday and two places came up in the search, Tarimoro and Taqueria. Both places averaged out about the same in Unilocal but I chose Taqueria mainly cause I was able to find their menu online. D and I were able to find it easily via the Scout app. They’re located in a semi-busy strip mall. The space inside wound up being a lot larger than the outside lets on and a lot of the tables were filled with customers. It was colorfully decorated with various photos and posters throughout. We were greeted by one of the cashiers and he told us to sit anywhere. While scouting for one booth we noticed a corner booth in the back was quite messy… food on the seats and floors so we opted for the booth next to it. At some point another pair wound up sitting there though I don’t recall anyone cleaning it up. Our server was very nice. She was all smiles as we placed our orders, D’s being the two chimichanga dinner and mine a beef taco salad. We also ordered a steak quesadilla to split between us. We received complimentary chips and salsas. We whipped through those quickly. Wish there were more chips. Everything wound up being very delicious. D even tossed me a bit of his chimichanga since he was getting full. So we sat for a while after our server took our plates and was patiently waiting for the check. After fifteen minutes we finally went up to the front and learned that you go up to pay and then they give you the bill. Usually for places you pay at the front, the server gives you the bill beforehand so you can evaluate. At least that’s what I’m used to. It was a little different but everything worked out in the end. I look forward to checking out other items in the future. At some point I’ll also have to give Tarimoro a try as well.

Great for price but take it to go. sat in there and had Flys buzzing the whole time. Tables need to be cleaned off but fast food made up for it. No chicken bones in the meat.

The food is so good it’s not even funny. They will get your order right 99.99% of the time and it’s always hot WHENYOUDINEIN. The only thing I would say you need to keep in mind is that while the food is good, they tend to slip up a little on carry out orders. it’s not that the food is bad when you carry out, it just isn’t always what you ordered. Check the bag before you leave and enjoy one fine meal!

Taqueria Mazitla was a great find it doesn’t look like much from the outside but they had great food and a very good staff. This place is for dine in or carry out. I had the chicken tacos which was on the lunch special and it came with rice and beans. Also like most Mexican restaurants they gave me free chips and salsa. The chicken tacos where awesome. The meat had good seasoning and was really tender. I also liked the fact that they gave me plenty of limes with my lunch. I think the lunch special was only like six or seven dollars and was worth every penny. Overall really hope this hidden gem makes it because the food was great and the staff was friendly!

Great little place. Hope they keep the quality of the food up. Tried others in the area but think these guys stand out. Wait staff is also very friendly!

I’m going to agree with most of the other reviews and say Mazamitla is a hidden gem with very good food at a reasonable price. It’s definitely a hole– n-the wall place you barely notice is there(but aren’t those usually the best?) This place has the best tostadas and nachos with beef. I swear you can make a meal out of the nachos w/beef alone. They’re served on a huge plate with queso cheese, sour cream, guacamole, and lots of beef. Their fajitas are awesome to. I work in Chicago and eat at some great Mexican restaurant’s and even though Mazamitla can’t top them, they are a close second. If I had to say one negative thing, their steak is slightly dry and they cut it up into these microscopic cubes. But it’s decent if you squeeze the lime they give you on it. I would recommend eating in the restaurant as opposed to carry out. I know it sounds crazy but they seem to give you more generous portions when you do.

I walked right in and ordered take out since I wanted to get back to my hotel. I had the 2(chicken) chimichangas dinner(the one I saw on Unilocal!) and it was ready within 10min, super fast! It was a nice little place that seamed to attract a good amount of people even for a work night. The meal is GIANT. I could only finish half of it, so I got 2 meals out of it. If you’re in the area and looking for Mexican cuisine, this is the place to go!

Ok if your very hungry and it is very late. It is just a run of the mill hole-in-the-wall-dive. This restaurant has been here for years under various names. I have never had anything spectacular there. Its’ location is just so convenient. The best thing is the horchata and the worst thing is it is dingy.

What a hidden treasure! The al pastor tacos are soooo good. Great prices and they give you plenty of food! Would’ve gave them 5 stars if I could’ve had a beer or a Margarita . I see this being my go to place for tacos

Our first impression wasn’t a good one, and we were a little nervous going in, as this place is located in a small strip mall that looks rather disheveled. Inside, there were at least three tables that were waiting to be cleared too, so that wasn’t very appetizing either. To be fair, we were there at lunchtime on a Friday, so they might have been backed up a bit. The food was a whole different story. Nice spicy salsa, and great homemade(green and red) hot sauces. Absolutely fantastic meal, and priced right. I got the three taco dinner $ 6.99(from lunch menu)…two pork(pastor) and one steak on corn tortillas with onion and cilantro topping. They were excellent. The meat was nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly with crispy browned edges. Came with rice and beans which tasted quite fresh. My wife had a pork sopes, and it was great… very large too… perhaps the largest sopes I’ve ever seen. My wife was glad that she only ordered one. We also got a small order of guacamole, and it too was really good… tasted quite fresh. We were stuffed, and our bill was only $ 19. We will definitely be back. I should note that they do not serve any alcohol.

The two chimichanga dinner for $ 6.99 is delicious and well worth the price the rice water was a little bland though. Also the décor is a little crazy but not completely outrageous lol.

Two days after my first visit, I returned. This place worked on my mind. I returned for the steak tacos and brought the pickier judges in the family. They all gave it a huge thumbs up. This will now be our go to.

Super fast and super good I think it’s one of the better tasting Mexican restaurants. The Décor has come along way and such pleasant girls in the front of the house. Most of the good is great but you can’t go wrong with the burrito, just so you know all they put in the buritto is sour cream beans and mets no lettuce or tomatoes which is crazy. Next time ur in the area try it out I highly recommend it

This is a great taqueria. I ordered a chorizo sope, an al pastor taco, and a chile relleno taco and everything was really good. The sope was definitely homemade and was the biggest one I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t tell for sure if the pastor was off the spit, but it was pretty good. The three salsas that accompanied the food were delicious and limes were served with the tacos. This place is awesome.

The best Mexican restaurant within a 15-mile radius… bar none. Everything at this place is authentic and delicious.
