My favorite quick, vegan friendly(and friendly in general) café! The vegan veggie soup is FANTASTIC. I love the casual environment and often take soup home to enjoy a day or two later. All soups and breads are extremely fresh. Highly recommend this place to any soup and sandwich lover

This place is amazing. I only wish I had known about it sooner! They have a variety of soups daily that you can taste before you purchase. I had the she crab soup, and the grilled cheese sandwich combo. They were both delicious. Best grilled cheese I’ve had! They also serve a variety of other items that change daily like meat loaf & homemade mac and cheese. Lastly, we had the peanut butter pie = did I say yum! You must try this place.

I love all their soups. I like to mix them. My favorite mix so far is butter but squash and beer cheese. I’ve tried a lot and I’ve never been disappointed. Five stars. They’re so nice. Sometimes the chef even comes out and asks how everything is when he’s there. The women working are so nice

I like this place. I do wish they had more options that were less creamy and more vegetarian or vegan friendly. My favorite is the mushroom barley, but they only have it every so often. The people are nice and happy to let you try samples.

This place is phenomenal. Every soup that I’ve tasted has been stellar. It’s difficult to pick which flavors I want to take home so I usually end up with several quarts. Also great to eat there. Truly the best soups I’ve had.

The absolute best! My 3 year old loves the new England clam chowder the best, it’s a tie between that and the chicken pot pie soup for me!

Maybe we were here on a off day for this place. There was no line, and just a couple of people eating inside. Based on the Unilocal reviews, I figured we’d be lucky to get a table, but there wasn’t much business at all while we were there recently at lunchtime. Anyway, I had a sample of the roasted red pepper soup, which tasted unlike any other roasted red pepper soup I’d ever had: heavy oregano, extremely salty, a little… fishy? It tasted more like a seafood chowder, to me. The woman behind the counter insisted I was tasting gouda. I know what gouda tastes like, and it doesn’t taste like seafood. Next, I sampled the she-crab and I laughed when the woman handed me the little cup because it looked EXACTLY like the roasted red pepper soup. Same color, same consistency, same herbs floating in it, same little fishy chunks of «gouda». Needless to say, it also tasted exactly the same. Still overly salty, but at least the seafood flavor wasn’t out of place. The woman behind the counter asked me if I could taste the difference between the two soups and I said I honestly could not. She clearly did not like my answer and told me the two soups were VERY different before walking away. Ummm. Okay. Later, I saw her peek into both soup pots as if she were checking to see if they were, in fact, very different. The few soups my husband and I tasted were extremely salty. Weirdly, the homemade chips that came with our sandwiches were completely unsalted. We each had a half sandwich, a small bowl of soup, and a coke, which came to about $ 25 for two people. Overall: meh. I’m glad we tried this place, but we probably won’t go back.

Food is good. Staff is rude and unfriendly. So much so that it outweighs the food. Soups are good, but extremely salty. Tuna fish wasn’t bad, and the amount of chips given was embarrassing. The sole reason we’ll never go back though is the worker with curly hair and red(very red) highlights. She had a sour puss face, was rude to us, as well as two other parties while we were there, and made me not want to support the business any longer, which is a shame because mom and pop places are what we look for. Unfortunately, I’d rather spend my money elsewhere than give it to someone who is cranky and rude. I’d grade the food a B– and the service an F

First time here and I must say I was pleased with the sandwich I ordered. It was only a half but it was huge! I also ordered the onion soup which was very salty. If you read other reviews quite a few mention too much salt in the soups. It also took about 35 minutes to melt the cheese for the onion soup and everyone, including myself, was done eating our sandwiches by the time my soup arrived. Couldn’t eat it due to salt content and returned it to the manager who was rude and insensitive. She loudly explained that they don’t refund or credit EVER and that I could have tasted the soup prior to ordering. Obviously, if you are a first time customer you are unaware of that fact. Then she stated that she would give me a half portion of another soup but not to ever ask or do it again. She then explained to another customer about sampling the soup and how she just told that to me. REALLY??? Service was very slow and the manager needs some instruction in hospitality and customer service. The service crew looked miserable most likely due to poor management.

the mushroom & barley soup was over-priced at more than $ 7 for a pint. The lack of deep mushroom flavor was not so inconspicuously masked with an over-use of salt and herbs. I would not buy this again.

Wary of places in strip malls… I kept my expectations low. Soup is outstanding. I had the split pea soup with a ½ sandwich for lunch for less than $ 10 with drink. A hearty portion of soup and just the right amount sandwich for a great lunch. The parking lot can be a nightmare — but that’s not their fault as it is shared with many in this strip mall plaza. Bring your patience before you park… once you are inside and get a taste of the soup you will forget that hassle. Worth it!

Been here several times now and finally had to post a review. Definitely the best soup I ever had. The service is great and they have no issues with letting you try a sample of their large selection of soups. If I worked there and kept getting asked for samples by the same customer I would get agitated but they keep smiling here. I like to get a bowl of two different soups mixed such as loaded baked potato soup with beer cheese soup on top. If you love soup just go. End of story.

After a harrowing day… a sick day… or just any time the craving arises… soup! Good for the soul! The place is pristine and the bread was cut with the upmost cleanliness so disregard the reviews that say otherwise. I have been wanting to try this place for years and tonight was the night… I was immediately encourage to sample as many soups as I desired — good sign! So I tried the following: Chicken pot pie — rich and comforting, very akin to pot pie — minus the crust(which is sometimes the best part.) She Crab — it was good but I didn’t choose because I was envisioning hunks of crab and it was thin… perhaps it was just my sample. Beef Barley… ok…but again, no beef in my sample. African Peanut Stew — rich, complex, thick and a hint of spiciness — hooked! My choice! I purchased a bowl of this with a few slices of olive bread and $ 6.90 later, I was out the door and happy… I will definitely be back — sooooo many more soups to try!!!

My family absolutely loves this little place. Every soup is made from scratch. I have never tasted a soup I haven’t liked. You can sample each soup if you would like but let me warn you, if you do you might want to take home a bowl of each one. Trust me I have gone home with more than I had planned. Today I went on the request of my daughter for loaded potato soup for dinner. I went in and did my normal tasting. A new soup they had today was Southern African Peanut. Oh my… it was delicious. A hint of peanut with a kick at the end. I highly recommend it if it is on the menu. Another one to get if on the menu is the cheeseburger soup, they don’t always have it but when they do, don’t miss out. Oh and let me tell you about the desserts. Also delicious! The chefs mom makes them homemade! Don’t pass up the chocolate cake!

I love soup. I also love making soup, so I know the qualities that set a soup apart. 2 Chef’s Souparee however, is in a soup league of its own. I stumbled upon this place because of Unilocal, and at first was afraid because of the reviews criticizing the cleanliness. Upon arrival however, I was surprised! The back kitchen looked very clean, and all the surfaces were wiped. The soup pots were sparkling clean, and the woman serving us did not touch any of the food with her bare hands. There were so many soup options that we didn’t know what to order! The woman allowed us to try as many as we liked, and did not seem bothered at all. My boyfriend ordered a squash soup, and I ordered a chicken and corn chowder. Both soups were flavorful, hot, and filling. He also ordered a sandwich that had fresh bread and turkey. To top this place off, they had a soup nazi poster. How great is that? I love Seinfeld! I wish this place was not so far. Highly recommend!

I was slightly hesitant and yet excited to try this restaurant after reading the reviews. First off, I have to say that I love making soups. Many, many years ago I studied and practiced all types of innovative soup recipes. The more and more I made soups, the more I made them up as I went(from scratch), failing to use a recipe. I pretty much have eaten soups 5 days a week for countless years. So I am a SOUPSNOB. So I was nervous because of the claims of this not being a clean facility. On the other hand, I was drawn like a siren to the possibility that they might have numerous, innovative, different types of HOMEMADE soup. So in the end, I HADTOTRY. So I got there unfortunately close to closing and after a LONG road trip. It was a little hard to find in the middle of large shopping center with an unassuming sign… in between the TJMaxx and the Eggcetera. It was almost closing, but there was a LINE. The guy in front of me kept swearing how AWESOMEEVERY soup was. I tried two samples, and one BLEW me away, so I got that one. And despite the claims of the cashiers cutting bread unsanitarily, they used a wax paper cover to hold the bread they were cutting, so I felt no qualms about that. And, boy was my stop worth it! The red pepper soup was superb… even for a homemade soup snob. I would come back!
