Go here ONLY for the Haitian patties, which are best I’ve had when done well. Make sure they aren’t overcooked. Service is terrible. Very rude. They never answer the phone. They will never have your order ready for pick up. Constantly run out. Refuse to give bakery boxes unless you order a minimum of 12 patties. Avoid hot buffet and cakes are terrible.

The food at Alberte’s is always DELICIOUS. The place looks very clean. They also sell Haitian products not commonly found everywhere. However, that’s it. I have not been at Alberte’s ONCE and not left frustrated! Food takes forever. I will call 30mns in advance and give them time… food is still not ready when I get there. Sometimes you call, pa gen griot, pa genyen du riz djon djon. There’s always something they dont have from the menu. The staff’s attitude never fails to amaze me. It’s like you’re doing them a disfavor by ordering. They charge extra for sauce. They charge extra for pikliz. Mentioned a bad experience to the owner’s son once and he smiled and said«oh I cant believe they didn’t get your order right» and he continued to smile. It’s your store and you can’t believe YOUR staff messed up? I’ve given Alberte many many many chances before I decided to write this review so I am being completely fair. Hopefully this is an eye opener for Alberte that she needs to train her employees better and start caring more about the customer service since she already has the delicious food down to a science.

The food here is excellent however, the customer service is horrible. If you do not speak creole I would not advise you to buy food here. Staff will over look you, customers skip you in line. I have come to this establishment twice to eat and waited over 40 mins for a griot complete. Mind you there were people who ordered several plates of food after me and received their order. I will not give this establishment any of my money because they don’t deserve it. You are better off going to Le Troubadour in Lake Worth because they value their customers.

I love this place. Ive been coming here for years. Their portions are huge for the price. I am always satisfied. Everyone is always friendly. I recommend this place to anyone. I usually get the griot. It’s very good. As well as thier oxtail and fried fish. And i just love how you can see the food upfront and pick out from the many selections they offer

I am having a wedding in Lake Worth, but I currently live in Orlando. I called to get some pricing for some food for appetizers. The lady was unwilling to go over any information with me over the phone. Even when informed that I live 3 hours away and would be willing to call at a more convenient, she refused my business. I am an American born Haitian and I would love nothing more than to support my country and people in anyway. This is a prime example of why other businesses thrive better than ours. I have gotten price quotes from all types of places with no problem. Shameful. The only reason they are open is because apparently their food is good but the general consensus is that the service is more than lacking. In other words; it sucks!

I stopped by this restaurant today to order griot and I’m sorry to say, but this place gets 2 stars — and it’s only because the griot is pretty good and moist. The service on the other hand is horrible! They were slammed with orders, which I totally understand. It’s a holiday weekend. But I was not treated well. And in reading the other reviews, it is clear all of their employees need customer service training ASAP. I noticed the employees(all women) did not crack a smile and looked upset at all of the patrons. I smiled and said hello… nothing. But when a few men walked in behind me, they ignored my ordered and started welcoming them. Really? Is this sexism? Perhaps. Will I go back? Nope.

Was completed surprised to find this place. And impressed on first sight. The restaurant is neat and clean — takes in lots of natural night — so a cold morning automatically seems sunny and warm. Men in business wear sat at the tables chatting as they ate. So clearly the food was worthy. I can now vouch for other Unilocalers — the food here is great — 4 – 5 stars easily! Very vast menu of Haitian cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In addition there is an everyday special of fritay(which is pretty much fried snack/appetizer food). It’s cooked to order so it’s extremely fresh and probably should be called ahead. But the quality of food is worth the wait. Griot(fried pork) Tassot(fried beef or goat) Banan peze(twice fried pressed plantains) Saucisse(fried sausage or hotdogs) Acra — fritter made with root vegetable Marinade — a fried dumpling There was a small market of Haitian items, ingredients, and baked goods and snacks. Great display of a Wedding cake so I’m sure they cater. Then there were Haitian patties for just a $ 1. Nice and flaky, seasoned with blended spices, and just delicious. I was disappointed that I couldn’t get a tropical smoothie in the morning. There were right up there on the menu with lovely enticing pictures but the lady behind the main counter said they were only available during the weekend.(The way she said it made me think she was just too lazy to get up and make it.) Which is why this place can’t get 5 stars. The customer service is lacking. Employees don’t seem inviting or well informed. Couldn’t even get one to smile. The Haitian food here is authentic but the reserved and cold demeanor are not representative of the country.

Today was my last visit to Alberte’s. I’m officially in search of a new Caribbean restaurant in the area. Called in an order of griot complet and some accra for pick-up. Was told it would be 20 mins. and would cost $ 9.50. I called back a few minutes inquiring about some jerk chicken. They told me «we sell it but we can’t price food over the phone». Be weary of any restaurant which does not openly give you the price when you ask or does not have it posted. Against my better judgement, I ordered the jerk chicken when I got there. 3 pieces for $ 5.75(this was after the lady behind the counter thought about what it should cost for awhile). Although the food was ready and sitting in front of them waiting for me, they finished a whole conversation before bagging and handing the food over to me as I waited. Service is ridiculously poor and thus the cause for my last visit.

I’ve been here many times & every single time the food has been exceptional. I could give it a five star for the food but the whole experience of getting that food is often frustrating. I’ve tried many ways. ALLFAIL. Whether I order at store or call first(once I called 20 minutes before going) there is always a LONG wait to get the food. I cannot see how someone who would be interested to eat there during their lunch hour can plan accordingly. The staff is often involved in a long conversation not related to getting the food ready. When you finally get your food, try asking for extra pikliz, they want to charge an extra $.50. It’s just cabbage, vinegar & peppers(i think) Just like other Caribbean restaurants including the big boys(pollo & la granja) include these in their $ 4.99 meal. Why cant it be included in my $ 12 fried goat? Alberte, I’ll be glad to give you a 5 star review. One for Faster service, One for free Pikliz.

Best Haitian food in the palm beaches. Had the lambi and legumes and I was very surprised. They use good cuts of meat and better quality ingredients. I hope they do not change…
