I met some family, who each live an hour away, for dinner. The food and service initially were both good. However, 3 hours after eating the portobello mushroom and chicken Marsala both my sisters, who shared both dishes, were in the bathroom sick. I called the owner to let them know and he was argumentative and rude. He screamed and said it wasn’t his food and to take them to the ER and if it was diagnosed food poisoning to let him know. He actually asked how much they had to drink! I told him to look at the bill and see that there were 3 of us and we each had 1 drink. When I explained I wasn’t looking for a free meal or my money back, I just thought he needed to know, he continued on his tirade and wouldn’t even let me finish a sentence. All I was looking for was a thank you for the information. I won’t be going back there due to the owners extremely rude behavior!

We’ve been here twice in the past three months. Food has been great, the service has been outstanding. Very dog friendly when the weather permits — don’t let the strip mall location turn you off, the outdoor seating and décor blocks the distraction rather well. The duck is a favorite, and they have a delicious chocolate crème brûlée. Wine selection is insane, love it!

Depends what you’re looking for. This place has turned into a popular watering hole, although with good wines and they can make a good mixed drink, complete with slot machines and regulars. Food is totally hit or complete miss. Same with the service.

My mom and I went for lunch today, and had an absolutely fantastic time. The ruben is tasty, the corned beef quality and flavor are excellent, and it comes with a nice coleslaw that has a good bit of acid and bite to it. The tomato/caper flatbread was awesome — the cracker crust is perfectly done, has a lot of flavor, and perfect texture. I highly recommend it. We each had a glass of wine, and our waiter was very knowledgeable, and helped us choose. Service was great — our waiter was attentive without being overbearing, and very kind. In addition, as we were leaving, the owner asked us over to the bar to get our opinion on a new flatbread they’re thinking of adding to the menu. A purveyor of their Italian ingredients was visiting, and we got to sample a delectable new flatbread with roasted artichokes imported from Italy(amazing!), tomato, and burrata. When I said I adore artichokes, I got to taste even more artichoke. It was such a lovely experience — local and global at the same time, with friendly chatter and fun people. I highly recommend Bacchus Nibbles. High quality ingredients, smart, good people, and staff who clearly care. I don’t live in the area any longer(I grew up here), but I know we’ll be back.

Hands down absolutely awesome. From the wine, appetizers, entrees, desserts, and the service. Amazing. This is my new favorite place. Thank you.

I drive past this place every day; about once per year I’ll stop in and remember why it’s been so long. The appetizers are boring and bland — the artichoke dip at TGI-Fridays has more flavor! The personality of the bar tender matched the cuisine perfectly. It looks like they’re supplementing the disappointing fare with a row of tacky slot machines. What’s most surprising is that, before they moved to this location, Nibbles offered some of the most enjoyable food and friendly service in the area.

Sorry to say but this restaurant failed on food, drink, and service. Myself and my guests tried 3 different wines and all were fair to poor. The service was extremely slow with no refills on water. Lastly, our steaks were fair and unfortunately over done and the beef brisket was as close to unedible as I have ever come into contact with at a restaurant. Too bad…

Had dinner there with friends, and the only good part were the appetizers and the lobster bisque. Escargot was very good, as was the beef carpaccio. The beef schnitzel, with 2 fried eggs on top, was possibly the blandest meal I have ever encountered. Cocktail and beer selection was below average. And I’m not sure why the wine list gets such good comments here, unless people are referring to bottle and not glass selection. Overall very dissatisfied with the experience.

We have enjoyed our experience every time we come to Bacchus Nibbles. The staff is very friendly and it’s a cozy, relaxing environment. I feel like the wine«scene» is lacking in the Lake Zurich area and this is one of the only places where you feel like there is an extensive wine list and wine bar feel in the area. The only thing is that the menu is a little limited but the food is excellent. You can relax at a table by a fire, in comfy leather chairs by the window or catch a game at the bar. All around, a great establishment!

Went here with the wife, for the first time since they moved, shows you how much I like the old location(wasn’t a fan) but I was pleasantly surprised that it was different. it appears to be more laid back, We just had soup and appetisers the sear tuna was great, the scallops were wonderful and we had the caprice salad which was good, I had the Pea soup which tasted excellent but was purée’ed which isn’t my favorite way but the flavor was very good, we enjoyed a glass of wine tasted fine to us as we are not wine snobs, the menu was fine as it appeared to have something for everyone, We finished the evening off with a crème brûlée and Cappuccinos, that were very good. All in all the food was very good, the service was great the atmosphere was cozy and inviting. I would recommend this place to a friend. The bar area(which we sat in a booth there is kind of like a little sports bar with plenty of different games going on at a time.

Go for the wine, don’t stay for the food. BN is quirky. Their wine/bar selection is great. The food, on the other hand, is average. The best thing on the menu is the egg roll/pot sticker appetizer. I had the beef tenderloin schnitzel. My friend had the tilapia in phyllo. The beef tenderloin was bland. I never use salt and found myself looking for the salt shaker. The tilapia in phyllo was overcooked and needed some flavor as well. The ambience(especially the fire place) is great. Service was good. the wines are great and priced moderately. I just think the restaurant needs to invest in a spice rack for cooking purposes!

I have been here several times over the past couple years and this place has become highly underrated. I have noticed a steady amount of changes in the quality of the dishes that they serve. Overall, you can’t beat the value of the food and service here.

I have been enjoying the new location for several months now. The atmosphere here is simply unbeatable. And now they have a beautiful patio along with the restaurant itself! Alfresco anyone? The dinner menu, happy hour appetizer specials and wines by the glass are absolutely wonderful! Also a great place to people watch as the restaurant is usually bustling with people and conversations. Thank you to the owners for always welcoming their guests with a genuine smile. If you haven’t been here yet you absolutely must go now!

Still a fan, although I DO miss the old location which I had really learned to love. The SE corner of Quentin and Rand still makes me think I must have made a bad turn. Same present owner and many of the staff. They will recognize you if you show up enough. Food is above average for even a corner strip mall location and way above your better than average bar food. The Dark Wine Jumble Cave Maze of the old store has been replaced by a more organized better lit wine rack layout, and there is more window glass and more outdoor seating. Menu isn’t huge, the wine list is HUGE; both will satisfy. Specials every night on the food and drink menu, very reasonable above average by the wine glass choices. I like the half duck and current Basa fish special(kind of a light newworld farmed catfish), not so impressed with the steaks, most dinners well under $ 20 with veggie and potato, Burgers $ 10, Pasta $ 13. Avoid the weekend and peak times. Friendly staff knows their food menu and their wines and you can have a very pleasant night inside or outside close to the corner of Rand and 22. Have fun.

Last night we went to NIBBLES for the first time in the new location. They had a note on the door that they were too busy to take any names until after 8:30PM. I was very glad I called a few days ago and made a reservation. The owner said he only takes reservations for parties of five or more. But he did take our name and we did have a table waiting for us when we got there. The place was packed! The bar was overflowing — people were standing all over the place. It seems to be the hot spot in Lake Zürich right now! It’s not going to last for long! The place is crazy loud! You can barely hold a conversation. The old restaurant was great to have a nice conversation — but this was almost impossible at this new location. The menu seems to be the same. Many old favorites are still there! And the prices are reasonable some entrees over $ 20 but many choices in the $ 15-$ 20 range! The service was mediocre, maybe even a little slow. The food was nothing to write home about. It was edible and tasty, but not outstanding. My husband’s vegetables were served cold and had to go back, they forgot to bring him another serving of them, until almost all of us were finished eating. As Soon as we were finished eating they were hustling to clear the table and get us the check and try to get us out of there quickly. They really didn’t want us to linger. I don’t think I would go back on a Saturday night again. It was just too crowded, loud and the food wasn’t that good. *** went back on a Thursday night. Still not very good. Bland food — not flavorful. Still busy but not crazy. I’ll go for drinks but will eat elsewhere.

After eating here I told my brother it was more a three and a half. He wanted me to give it a four and here is why. The restaurant is as cluttered on the inside as it is on the outside. I found it odd that they were going for some sort of rustic Italian feel with all the crates of wine, but it was funny to see other random liquor like Midori which doesn’t quite scream wine country to me. The random paintings of Marilyn Monroe also threw me off. One cannot live on ambience alone, so how was the food you say? For me there were some hits and misses, but overall I enjoyed my meal. Their bread is delicious and we almost got full just eating that. May I suggest ordering the Brie with lingonberries or the escargot and using the bread with it. Yum, practically a meal itself. I was fooled by the bay scallops entrée(I was craving big ass scallops, I forgot bay scallops are baby sized). Ryan’s chicken alfredo was really good. Chicken is chicken, but the penne and the sauce they make is garlic-rific! Some of the entrees ordered by our group were also pretty good as far as the meat being cooked well. May I say I have never had a tastier wienerschnitzel, boy did my dad pick a winner. All in all the food is this place’s saving grace.
