This is the 2nd pottery painting party my daughter had and this year we had it at Clay Money from a friend’s suggestion. Reserving a party is so easy with their website calendar. You select the party package and put a $ 25 hold on your credit card(they will charge this amount if you are a no-show. Its not a deposit). A staff person will call you a week before to confirm the party and get a final count. We arrived for the party and 3 female high school staffers took over. They were very good with the kids and managed the party well — I was impressed. This was a party for 6 – 8 year olds and we painted for over an hour. We had enough time to have snacks and drinks. I could’ve tried to squeeze in the cake and song but I just let the kids be… Everyone was having fun.

Tonight I took the Wheel Throwing 101 class with 3 of my girlfriends. We had a blast. Marla was our instructor and was patient with us first timers. We can’t wait to go back and glaze our pieces!!! I highly recommend the Wheel Throwing 101 class. They also have tons of ceramic pieces to paint! Great place, great staff!

I was in yesterday had a small issue but the owner resolved it immediately, she was very understanding and helpful. Clay Monet is a fairly big place, reasonable prices. My favorite thing was they had spinning disks to put your pottery on to help you paint easier. They also have pottery classes to learn how to spin your own pottery as well. From what I understand you do need 8 people so I am hoping that I can find a way to try a class. They have a ton of options to paint, and are open pretty late on the weekends(until 8) which is also an added bonus. Also I didn’t know they are a small business owner, which I am a big fan of so I will definitely bring my kids back!

We love Clay Monet! They have great ceramics to choose from and also is a great place for birthday parties and scouting events.

I’ve loved this place for so long I used to go here as a child for birthday parties and then later for crafts with my friends as we got older. The people here are wonderful and so down to earth!

I’m not normally an artist but I had the time of my life at Clay Monet. Loads of fun, staff super friendly and helpful, and they offered a variety of options. They have all sorts of things that you paint ranging from jars to coasters and everything in between. Anyone looking for a fun activity in Lake Zurich should definitely stop bye and enjoy Clay Monet.

Clay Monet is a great place for both of all age kids and adults! We have had three parties there for my daughters at different ages and it is always a hit. My middle school Girl Scout troop took the wheel throwing class and thought it was fantastic! They got hands on individual instruction on the wheel, and time to paint a tile. Then came back to paint their custom wheel pieces. I have also gone with friends for adult nights out to paint more complicated pieces, and it’s a great place to hang out, laugh and unwind! Their prices are great and they have special camps and classes all the time, bringing us back for more!

We had our daughter’s 6th birthday party here on Sunday 1÷10÷2016 and it was an amazing experience! The kids loved it, the staff was wonderful, and we get a plate that has her hand print in the middle and all of her guests thumb prints around it! Highly recommend!

I love painting ceramic pieces. Clay Monet offers a wide variety of pieces to paint. In general it only takes a week from start to pickup. I will say overall the staff is pleasant, one individual is a little rude. But it still is a great experience!

I called to make a reservation on what I thought would be a busy day – just as the web site says to. I called during business hours and got voicemail. Left a message. Never got a call back. I called the following day and the woman who answered was rude and said she has been too crowded all day to even listen to voicemails. We arrived and expect the place to be packed. No other customers were even there. The woman who ran the register was rude and didn’t seem to care about being polite and helpful to customers. I was told by one person working there to pick up in 7 days. Nothing else was told to me when I paid. I went there 8 days later and was told I will receive a call when ready and it takes 7 – 10 days. Finally got a call for pick up 11 days later. Just over all a frustrating experience due to one very rude person working there. The other two workers I encountered seemed nice.

I love the idea of Clay Monet, but am less than impressed with the delivery. I bought a Livingsocial deal for a pottery throwing class and had a lot of trouble booking it. I had to keep calling back to try to set up an appointment and had to reschedule twice due to classes being canceled unexpectedly because not enough people singed up. We were finally able to sign up for a class at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday morning. We arrived early like it says to on the website and to our surprise, no one was there. They didn’t open until 10:00. We wandered around the nearby stores until someone showed up. I thought that was very unprofessional to schedule a class at 9:30 and not have anyone working. I enjoyed the class very much and thought the instructor was very pleasant and knowledgeable. Upon the conclusion of the class, we were told we would get a call in about 4 weeks to come back to paint. We were in at the end of November which made the 4 weeks right before Christmas. I was willing to give them some leeway, but I knew I wasn’t going to get a phone call. I didn’t. I called in early January, only to have someone have to call me back because she wasn’t familiar with the space and didn’t know where our pieces were. Then when I did get the call back, she said our pieces had been done for a while and we could come in and paint at any time. I don’t understand why I did not receive a phone call when they were done. My friend and I were there to paint today, and again, I enjoyed it. I am just very underwhelmed with the professionalism of this place.

Had a fun time here with my mom and some friends this fall! I made a chilled dip bowl for around $ 20 and it turned out great! Staff was super friendly and helpful even with the size of our group. Can’t wait to use it for my next house party! If I lived closer I would be frequenting this place more. Great job!

The people that work there are very helpful and fun. I do some major painting on my pieces so I’m really glad that the studio fees are included with the price of the piece your working on. You’er able to return to finish as many time as needed, and the pricing is good. I enjoy the time I paint and with the friendly people it is a very good experance.

This is a fun place for a date or get together. You are never too old to dust off your creativity and make something. Instead of meeting up at Starbucks, meet here and chat while you paint a mug, martini glass, plate, etc. Kids love this place as well. They have camps and birthday parties, or you can just go in for a fun surprise after school. There are many price options for pieces and you don’t have to pay extra for materials like some other places. If you are looking for a unique gift, they have professionally painted pieces and custom designed items as well.

My kids and my friends love Clay Monet. We’ve been to birthday parties here, we completed a scout badge here, as well as passed many, many rainy day afternoons. It’s very relaxed — there’s no studio time charge, so no pressure to be quick. The kids can be thoughtful about their artistic approach, and go back for as many glaze refills as they’d like. Extra bonus: pottery wheels in the back. If you want to do a longer process, you can actually throw your own pot, paint it the next week, pick it up the week after that. It’s a little different and a little more special. I understand the owner is actively seeking a buyer, or closing at some point in the nearish future. We’d be sad to see this place go. Hope someone steps up and takes over a great little business.
