I worked with Christine on setting up a birth photo registry for my Sisters birth. She had business cards printed at Staples that I picked up and included with baby shower invites for guests to contribute towards the cost of birth photos. This was a fairly smooth process with her. The first time I met Christine was at my Sisters baby shower a couple months later. She was friendly, but spent the day talking to everyone about herself and her services. I brushed it off since I was focused on making my Sisters day the best day possible for her! A few months later, my Sister is needing to be medically induced at the hospital. Christine comes to the hospital and is there for a few hours and then leaves. She comes back again when labor has progressed a bit more but then once again leaves and says she is going home to rest. Christine did not live local to the hospital. Leaving to go rest when she lived approx an hour away while a Mom is in active labor is not professional! Christine who is advertising herself as doula should know that births can change in an instant. My Sister tried calling her several times and she slept right through the phone calls. She got back to the hospital just as my Sister was being wheeled away for an emergency C-Section and hands her boyfriend the camera to take pictures. Christine took a photo with my Sisters twins before my Sister even had a photo. There is no family photo at the hospital nor are there any photos of the twins breastfeeding their first time. During labor she interjected her opinion on my Sisters birth plans to the Dr and the nurses many times. She was hired as a photographer, not a doula and this was not her place. When the photos came back from Christine they are subpar. There are so many wonderful pictures that could have been taken and they just werent. She was not supportive during labor and she was definatly not supportive after labor. I would not recommend Christine as a doula or a photographer to anyone!
