This is a pretty solid Publix. We stopped in to get a sandwich on our drive from Orlando to St. Petersburg and it’s really big and clean. I wasn’t that into the sandwiches; I think I’m spoiled in California as it was surprising to me that none of them came with bacon or avocado, let alone both! So, I opted not to get one. My boyfriend got the Asian BBQ one which he thought was OK. There wasn’t anything ‘Asian’ about it he said; it was just normal BBQ sauce. I opted for the potato wedges which were gigantic, but weren’t very warm; you could tell they had been sitting out for awhile. I had no idea what a potato ball was, so I had to try that… I love potatoes. It was OK. The breading was a bit too much and a bit hard, and the mince meat in the middle wasn’t very good. I do think the general idea of these things could be really good if done with better quality ingredients. I could definitely see this at some hipster restaurant with like braised pork belly or something. We also got a package of deviled eggs which were straight up gross that we couldn’t eat them. The rest of the supermarket seemed really nice and bright and cheery with lots of options. The bakery section looked really cool too. I loved the turkey-shaped cake! How unique!
