This is a great YMCA that hums with activity from child care to health programs. It has an indoor salt pool(83o) that can become fairly outside with large garage lift doors, basketball courts, a therapy pool(90o), a weight room, treadmills, exerbikes and a schedule of classes. They provide onsite child care as well as provide sites at local schools – and they provide many fun parties and field trips for kids. The water classes include deep water, gentle stretching or aerobic classes. The floor is slick, be careful! Be aware that the lifeguards are pretty bad-inattentive to their jobs and unsupervised(aquatic director invisitble to pool & its needs). In cold weather the doors are open so the air is freezing.(Shameful!) There are some excellent swim class leaders, creating tailored work-outs for a variety of needs. Many physically challenged & seniors use the pool. I find there is often a gypsy moth/bug problem and the locker rooms are freezing but some of their finest employees are the diligent custodial cleaners they employ. Sadly, management does not listen nor respond to customer concerns or input. The business is well-used so you have to learn the good times of day to get your exercise on. Parking spaces are lacking if you try to run in too close to the start of a class but are easy to find at other times. An outright individual monthly fee is high– about $ 48 not counting«joining fee». This means you have to go 24 of 30 days a month to equal the deal at Kelly Rec($ 2/session). This rate to someone netting $ 12,000 is like someone paying $ 250/month who nets $ 55,000. They do participate in Silver Sneakers(free to Medicare customers – AKA no upfront costs to you). As for me, the cons outweigh the pros and I am stopping membership, but there are many benefits. I rate it LOW due to their high rates, lack of pool only rate, poor parking, and lacks in adequate leadership, especially in the pool.
