Alrighty, let’s set the mood here… Great Grandma’s 100th Bday… 75 relatives and fellow bridge players. Grandma barking orders about when we eat, who eats first, when to make speeches(yes… there were speeches), children jumping all over me, relatives cornering me about why I’m not married, asking how I like college(yeah… I graduated like 4 years ago…), asking if the children jumping on me are mine, asking me about the ‘very nice looking man’ I brought and telling me to snag him up quick, and yeah… you get the rest. I love family. :-) So… needless to say this cafeteria style deer headed place had a saving grace… $ 2YOUCALLITALLDAYEVERYDAY!!! So while I do not drink in front of my family, I was able to chug drinks between the barrage of questions and then walk out with my diet coke/shirley temple and relax a little. Suddenly I was loving telling the same story OVERANDOVERANDOVER again. So thank you Elks Lodge for the cheap drinks that made me not lash out at my family. In fact I even had fun. I even teared up at a speech or two. Go granny! It’s your birthday!
