This is one of the few restaurants I like in lakeport. I am from fresno and there is nothing but great restaurants there. So having so little to chose from here i was pleased to find this place. Great people who can accommodate special orders.

Ate here once… it’s my friends favorite place. I will never go back. The food was only so so although the price was really good. And then i started to feel sick to my stomach… it felt like I was about to throw up. I hadnt eaten anything else after that so my only conclusion is that their food made me sick.

I’m surprised at the negative reviews, as I have never had an unpleasant experience here a Hong Kong. the food takes a little longer than I would like sometimes, but it’s always delicious. The teriyaki chicken is my favorite!

My husband and I are not to picky. But every thing we tasted was not fresh. It seemed canned or old. I would like to see that change because we love Chinese

This restaurant is not efficient. I called in an order and there was no price quoted while on the phone. Prior to calling in, I went online and there were prices listed. When I get to the restaurant, I was told that they didn’t know where those prices came from. I was charged a high price for two items. They started giving me all kinds of excuses for the price, they were unprofessional and short with me. I am not sure if it was because of my color or what. I can”t give a review of the food because the poor service has overpowered the taste and quality of the food. This was my first and my last time.

The staff here is what makes this place awesome. Very friendly people and they like what they’re doing. It’s got that good family-run kind of feel. The all you can eat buffet lunches are so worth it! I love coming for those.

The quality of the food at this place has gone down over the years. Not sure if its changed owners but its just horrible. I spent $ 30 last night on crap! The pork-fried rice had a weird flavor. The beef with broccoli hardly had any beef and NO flavor. The spicy green beans also had no spice or flavor. And the teriyaki chicken was over cooked, dry and didn’t taste like anything. Actually when I think about it, anything you get there has NOFLAVOR. Very expensive for a bunch of stuff that has no taste. Also, why are they so cheap with the soy sauce on take out orders? You could tell them 10 people are eating and they will still only give you 1 packet of soy sauce. Also, stay away from the lunch buffet. The variety to choose from is nill and they never make enough of anything. Your always waiting for them to bring out more food. Not worth the price or wait for fresh food.

I had the worst chow mien in my life. It was mush and tasted like mold. I will never eat there again.

My family of 5 and I were camping out in the State Park for Memorial Weekend. We were tired with BBQ, so we asked the ranger for a Chinese restaurant. She said, drive along South Main Street, you will find a few. We found Hong Kong Restaurant. Free parking to start with. Place is not so big, but clean. The waiters were nice, we order several dishes. They were very good, service were a little slow, because it was a holiday weekend, it was quite busy. We were happy with the service and the food, so we give the waiter a good tips.

Bad BADBADBADBAD! I had the 6 dollar buffet. My fault is, I didn’t look at the buffet before ordering it. It was empty pans of burned bottoms. The waiter would bring a small amount of one dish and dump it out into dirty burned water table pans. health code says you have to take out old pans and put clean ones in. They didn’t. There were 10 customers waiting for food to come out. Like hungry dogs getting rations from their Chinese masters, it was the most distasteful and humiliating sight. We were all waiting for food and then a little bit(one dish) would be brought out and would be gone right away. I thought at first maybe they were short handed, but then when I went to pay the bill there were 4 cooks standing around in the back. Eggs rolls, fried rice, egg fu young sweet and sour… these are not hard to make people… I make them all the time at home(mine are better. I use things called ingredients). The food was horrible. Why did I stay? I should have got up and left. The sweet and sour pork was pork but it was chunks of breaded inedible pork fat or pork bones which you can’t digest let alone shallow. Where the fuck is Gordon Ramsey when you need him? When I finally went to pay, I handed the idiot up front my credit card, and I signed the slip. and I told him how disgraceful it was how everything was and how dirty and burnt the dishes in the steam table were. He instantly grabbed the signed receipt back, like I was going to take it away from him. That told me, that he has had these scenarios before. Where people refused to pay. But as you see from the reviews up above, they continue to come. Lake county has a large granny population so any food looks good compared to meals on wheels. Although mealson wheels probably slays this place. THEWORST.

This has always been the best chinese food i’ve ever had. Their chow mein — you cant find one as good ANYWHERE else. I’ve been going here since I was a little kid. I’ve never found anywhere that comes close to Hong Kong! They have a 7 buck buffet from 11 – 3 on week days that is amazing!(Chow mein, rice, eggrolls, wontons, shrimp, potatoes, sweet and sour pork, orange chicken, beef brocoli, etc) If you get there early enough its always fresh, and delicious. The same guys have been working their since I was a kid and theyre the sweetest! It’s taken me this long to write a review — but here’s your well deserved five stars, guys. I recommend this place to EVERYBODY!

I mostly only have ill to speak of this place… since There food is tasty, I must refrain from the single star rating. And I also have not been there in a while so maybe a 1 star would be a bit harsh. Firstly, food is exactly what you would expect of Americanized Chinese food. Now with the negative. The lunch buffet is all you can eat… of the 5 items on hot plates. All be it these are classics, Egg fo young, S&S pork, chow mein, fried rice, and the last one escapes me. Dessert on it are almond cookies. Sorry maybe city buffets have ruined me but for 7 bucks this, just isn’t that great. The menu items are mediocre at best. The kitchen rumors, while now I don’t know, I know in the past they were… undesirable…and years ago the used to keep veggies unrefridgerated in a house they all live in behind the restaurant. Again I have not been there for a long time because of this. Pros: 7 buck buffet

WELL, we came here for a quick and cheap lunch on our way back from an absolutely KICKASS waverunner experience. Needless to say, this place was… well, pretty bad. We came here for the $ 7-per-person buffet, and eh… lol. Everything was pretty bad… the sweet and sour red sauce seemed to have started to slowly solidify… so that was pretty distasteful. The fried rice was overly dry and had barely any flavor. The broccoli was pretty mushy and completely drowned in unnecessary sauce and oil. I think the only things that were decent were the hot soup and chow mien. I didn’t go to the bathroom, but from I’ve heard… it was pretty frightening. I really hoped this place was good… but I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t ever come here again if I’m ever in the area.

2.5 I had low expectations of this place since lakeport has a small asian population. No chopsticks or tea were served and the food was quite Americanized. The beef chow fun had a bunch of vegetables(broccoli, carrots, peas, zucchini) which the normal dish does not. The mu shu pork had tortillas vs lettuce as wraps. Overall, a panda express like Chinese restaurant but at least the dishes and décor was clean.

They usually do have dirty bathrooms which is uncalled for! But when you are in Lakeport a lot, you will realize if you want good food and a clean bathroom, you are going to be looking for a lonnnng time. I love their buffet. Really sweet staff. Don’t let any rumors scare you, they are clean in the kitchen.

Good for dinner but I do not recommend the lunch buffet. The food is much better fresh as you order. Good flavors and good meat to veggie ratio, which is a plus in my book. Very friendly staff. I notice another woman made bad comments about the restroom. I must say that I have never used their restroom or know anyone that has so I cannot say what the conditions are.

Well people this was going to be a 3 star review… as the food was pretty decent HOWEVER until these NASTYASSEDPEOPLE learn how to clean their bathrooms I can not in good conscience recommend them. And when I say«nasty» I mean that after dinner my BF walked into the bathroom and upon smelling the foulness he quite literally proceeded to blow chunk. This wasn’t your run of the mill«someone funked up the place» kinda nasty, but more the bathroom had not been cleaned in a looonnnggg time and there was caked up gunk on the floor(i’ll leave that to your imagination) and just a general film of grimyness… Of course my first thought is if the bathroom is shtank nasty what about the kitchen???
