I bought a bike from them, have Ridden it every day since, no problems, rides great and have bought a rack, basket and anything I need since. I go back as often as I can, they know what will work for my bike and I can trust them.

Being a Specialized dealer I half expected this place to be much bigger, but something you don’t often find in a bigger store is excellent customer service. These guys delivered! In talking with Dave, him and the owner Jeff were able to narrow down a bike that fit my budget and more importantly fit me! Couldn’t be happier with my purchase, you guys rock!

Theses guys are awesome! In spite of the fact that they don’t have any competition in town they are extremely reasonable and honest. I bring my old bike there for repairs and they always fix it with the bare minimum required-never suggesting a bunch of upgrades that I don’t need or can’t afford. Really an example for all businesses in Lakeport who often time prey upon people(and purvey poor service) because there are so few options for us here in Lake County. Cheers

MAAAAN were we happy to find this dude !(Jeff) I made it a tradition to ride around the lake every time i’m there(second year) and this time no different. but apparently, i forgot to replace my tire with skidded through hole. …and my buddy, lost a spoke 3 miles out of the house. so, here we are, 30 mile to go to the Lakeport, both can’t speed up Jeff had everything for us for really good price and agreed to install all. we did had to hang out about an hour at the shop due to number of people that wanted to chat with him, but that is the least price we could pay :) so Tire was on, spoke was in, all nicely balanced he let us use facilities, get water, even offered free soda(bikers are all alike :)) as well as invited to happy hour :) bottom line, HELLYEAH !!! he seemed knowledgeable, professional, and human — which, sometimes, is more important :) shop has pretty much everything that recreational bike needs, even performance stuff was available

This place is a gem in Lake County. They were very helpful. My wife and I are new to road cycling. Jeff fit us to our bikes and helped us buy just the equipment we really needed to get started and not every flashy thing in the store. It didn’t even feel like a store to me — more like a place where nice people hang out and help each other enjoy cycling — mountain or road, by the way.

Great Shop. Very knowledgeable and explains in a way someone new to it can understand. Very competitive prices. Willing to work on minor bike issues to help you get going at no cost. Really just takes the extra time! Thank you

I participated in Lakeport Rotary’s Konocti Challenge. Jeff, owner of Main St Bicycles, was a volunteer to help with minor adjustments prior to the ride. I showed up with a major problem, my friend backed his car onto my bike in the parking lot. Jeff expertly assessed the damage and quickly made the repairs so I could ride. If you’re looking for a friendly, expert mechanic for your bike, go see Jeff. Every bike rider needs a local shop they can trust. In Lake County, it’s Main St Bicycles.

Small town local bike shop came to the rescue(again)! During a recent(annual) camping trip to Clearlake, we ended up with a flat bike tire on the first day! Wheeled it in to Main Street Bicycles, where we were in, out and on our way in less than an hour with a prefectly inexpensive flat tire repair. The friendliness, honesty, and great skill are enough to keep us coming back to Main Street Bicycles each year(maybe it’s the inevitable thorns)…in any event, if you need a good repair shop, bike gear, or even an awesome bike, I highly recommend this place.

This is a local bike shop with a very experienced owner and staff that can take care of just about anything you need on your bicycle. Wherever I’ve lived in the past 20-years, I’ve always found the best bike shop for service and sales, and Main Street ranks at the top. If I need something quickly, they can get it done, while still being accountable and depended on to do it right. I have enough experience to know what is and isn’t important in cycling, and all the recommendations have been on-target to date. You might not get the same deal on a bike that you would at Kmart, and that’s because there is not too much to be said for dependability on the Kmart bikes, and certainly there is no follow-on service after you leave the store with your Kmart bike. Every bike needs repair and servicing once in awhile, and Main Street Bicycles is going to provide that in spades for the bike you bought there, as well as expertly servicing bikes you did buy at Kmart or another bike shop. I try to ride 2 – 3 times a week, and having a good local bike shop keeps me riding more and servicing less. The only thing I would change would be having the shop open on Sundays, as it is a busy cycling day for me. With that said, I wouldn’t want to see that if it meant someone with less than acceptable experience had to open that day. I don’t have inside information– I’m just going off previous experiences with stores that had to do that in order to lengthen hours of operation. Check out my other reviews; I don’t pull punches and don’t turf for anyone, because I expect to get the real deal from other reviewers, and will make a point of pointing out any discrepancies in previous reviews if I visit that business and find different. I’ve been contacted by businesses that I reviewed and had pointed out problems, and they have given me coupons and certificates to consider changing my review. I have used them in the past, but continually remind myself that WE the consumers of products and services are responsible for steering fellow consumers in the right direction. That’s what makes Unilocal great!

What local bike shops were meant to be. The owner Jeff has been around forever and knows all the trails and riders. He also knows his bikes, and charges a fair price for good work. Just purchased a mountain bike from him last month. I ended up getting a nice Specialized bike for less than it would have cost me to go «over the hill» and get what I initially thought was a bargain at Performance Bicycles. Trouble is, they do poor work, are located 1−½ hours away, and charge you to ship the bike you buy to their shop! Jeff didn’t charge me shipping, set up my bike well and with some custom doo-dads, and delivered as promised. He’s got my business.
