1. You are a fisherman and this is the only place open at 5 am
2. You are retired and you need someplace to go to get out of your wife’s way
3. You don’t like the cake doughnuts they serve at The Patio
Hello, I’m a number 3*. And I found this place to be packed with Number 2s. The kind of number 2s who will jokingly chide you for not being a regular. And who will offer to make you coffee. It’s important to note that regulars here don’t get service, they must serve themselves.
The yeast doughnuts here are enormous and sweet. The selection is simple. Jelly-​filled, cream-​filled, bismarck, glazed, chocolate-​frosted and the twist.
I stopped in recently after visiting some vacationing family in the area. I had to make my way to visit a client about an hour away, so I picked up a baker’s dozen to take to them. I mean dozen. It was a dozen by the time it got to them. Jill’s is cash-​only and my baker’s dozen was around 10 bucks.
*Well, I’m not technically a number 3 because I do like the cake doughnuts at The Patio, but not all the time, so I wanted a change.
