Does anyone out there know if Dominick’s is really closed? I really hope not, they are the best. I am a pretty harsh critic when it comes to Italian food, and their food is just superb. Worth it every single time.

STINK! This place was good and at the top of my street! How’d they get kicked out after not paying the rent after two or three months? Most landlord’s take 6+ months to evict a tenant. Ugh, I hope the best for them, they were really good. I’ve only lived here a month or so, and couldn’t wait to go back. Unfortunate.

Dominick’s RIP. Dominick’s, formerly Ciola’s, was great. Never had any complaints and loved the place. Noticed it was CLOSED when I drove by last night(on a holiday wknd Sat. night). Checked today and there’s a sign on the door that says it is FORSALE. I see from Tara M’s post that it has been closed for at least a few days. Do I know for sure it is closed for good? No. But is it starting to look that way? Yes, even though the website is still up. I feel sorry for the great kitchen and wait staff, many of whom had worked there for years. Can’t wait to find out where they end up.

Just an FYI Review… Despite the great new bar menu — after the ownership change the new Dominick’s(previously Ciola’s) in Lakeway did not last 2 months. Signs on the door Closed«Non Payment of Rent»:(

Ciola’s(now Dominick’s) is consistently delicious Italian food with very attentive service. The flounder was tasty with capers and olives… 3.5 stars. We also had the Veal Parmesan… 3 stars. Though the veal was good, the veal was over breaded and a bit tough. Another dish we tried was the Frutti de Mar with risotto(5 stars)… Risotto perfect! The seafood fresh! Overall the evening, meal and wine for 3 were worth the $ 100 and desers the 4 stars.

It looks like what used to be called Ciola’s changed their name to Dominick’s. On my last visit, everything seemed to be identical from the old joint save for the name. The great food, service, and wine list all were still in tact!
Any of their pasta they serve with shrimp should be ordered. The seafood is consistently well-sized and has the texture that fresh seafood should have. The calamari alla fabio is a pretty good seafood appetizer too. Oh, and dessert! Order the spumoni. Tell them the hungry girl on Unilocal sent you.

This is an update about the new bar menu. From 4 to 7 pm in the bar only, there are some tasty new small plates. Everything’s just $ 7.50, and there are drink specials, too, like $ 2 off wine by the glass. Italian Sliders, are available in three choices: meatballs, chicken parmesan or sausage and peppers. We opted for the sausage and peppers because they make their own fennel sausage here, and the taste and texture are fantastic. The sausage is topped with sauteed sliced peppers and marinara sauce, and served on soft ciabatta rolls. You get three sliders to an order, which is huge. «Dominick’s Choice» changes daily. Every day a different appetizer from the regular menu is featured at half-price. We had the shrimp scampi, five large shrimp breaded in panko and lightly fried, served on fresh sauteed spinach with a rich lemon-butter sauce. But the biggest novelty is the Italian nachos! Dominick’s calls them«Pasta Croccante,» which means crunchy pasta. Fried pasta chips are topped with your choice of Bolognese, Chicken Alfredo or Veggie. The Bolognese, with marinara sauce, mozzarella, spicy peperoncini and salty kalamata olives, was terrific. Two people could easily share this. They’re changing the décor of the bar a bit to be a more-welcoming place to hang out, with tall tables replacing some booths. Hope they won’t get rid of the old-school purse hooks underneath the bar. It’s nice to have a less-pricey alternative to Dominick’s awesome Italian cooking. Looking forward to trying the chicken parm sliders next!
