Big O’s Auto Detailing

I have used Big O in the past and he does a great job. His price can’t be beat.

I went to Big O’s based on the review I read here on Unilocal.They are very nice people, and their prices are reasonable. As a former detail guy, however, their work fell short by my standards.
I couldn’t tell that they did much on my interior, and there were water spots in various places on the exterior. Also, the buff job was good, but failed to remedy surface scratches in the paint (which I can take care of pretty easily). Oh yes, and they didn’t bother to wax the roof of my SUV — I guess they thought that I wouldn’t notice.
The shop itself sits on gravel, so you can plan on having a dusty car when you go to pick it up (with more dust and dirt attached to the tires). They also sprayed so much armor-​all on the engine that it will take me an hour to clean the chrome under the hood.
This experience was my first with a detail shop, so perhaps my standards are too high. Next time, I’ll try a different place. That’s my $ 0.02. I wish I would’ve kept my money.

Orlando Nieto — aka Big O — owns and runs this business with great care. He’s extremely attentive and customer oriented, and a great guy to deal with. I just had my 2006 Ford Fusion detailed, and he charged me HALF of what most detail shops were offering, and pick-​up and delivery was very reasonable. I’ve had a lot of dealings with Big O in the past — when I worked in the car business, Big O would detail cars for the dealership I worked for. He always stood by his work and if we ever needed something cleaned again, he always did what we asked without complaint.
I also like Big O’s because it’s a family business. Orlando and his son both run the business day to day, and Big O is very proud of his daughter studying at CSU (I think — maybe it was CU).
They’re very thorough — especially with wheels. They got in and really polished the rims up nice — they look brand new. They also make the inside shine and smell great.
The only negatives — first, his detail shop is run out of an old garage on Colfax. It’s clean, but it’s not very modern or comfortable. Don’t plan on waiting there while your car gets cleaned. Get someone to pick you up while you wait or — even better — pay Big O the extra $ 20 – 30 and let him pick-​up your car and drop it off when he’s done.
The other negative is that I think they use too much armor all. Don’t get me wrong, it looks great, but it’s a little «greasy-​armor-​all-​y» when you first get into it. A quick rub down with a clean towel takes care of the excess.
Neither of these negatives is very big, and when you consider the cost (I paid $ 125 compared to some detail shops quoting $ 200), it’s a steal. He did ask me if I had pets, so I suspect that there’s an extra charge for animal hair. Also, I had a car cleaned so an SUV might be more expensive. Still, it’s a great deal. I highly recommend him.
