Carrs is not Fast food, It’s Good Food and plenty of it. The wait for some one to cook your food from scratch is longer than some are use to. This place doesn’t start your order until you place it unlike most chain restaurants. Good Coffee and friendly staff make this family restaurant unique. They serve Large portions and the prices are fair. Heck, I spent $ 12 at Mc «D» for breakfast and is was all served in paper and gone by the time I got to work. They are Very busy on Saturday and Sunday morning but I suspect that is because people love this place and are willing to wait for a great breakfast. Thanks for not being another cookie cutter restaurant.

Super good food… huge portions! You can’t finish it in one sitting. I love their onion rings they are beer battered with stout streaks! Amazing you can actually taste the beer! The only reason for the 2 star knock off is the service is horrible! We asked over 3 times for a side of Ranch! The waitress said yeah! But never brought us the Ranch. Go here only for the food!

Let me start by saying, this is not the place to eat if you’re in a hurry. Our total dining experience took about 90 minutes. However, if you want amazing food served in gargantuan portions and friendly service, this is the place. We were impressed when we sat down and they gave us a little container of gold fish for our daughter, along with crayons and a kids menu. We came for breakfast and it did not disappoint.

My review will be based on the food… Yes there was a wait time for our food to come out. We were seated right away even with the large group in the back. We got drinks right away which gave us a chance to look over their large menu. Even though it was the middle of the day 2 of us decided to get breakfast. We weren’t disappointed at all! Food comes out on small serving platters, not plates! We had some good intel about the hashbrowns… If you like them crispy all the way through ask for them scattered. I got the fire chief fiesta, which was basically a Santa Fe type of scramble over home fries. It was delicious, not as spicy as they portray it to be. One of my friends got the waffles, the other got BLT with avocado and sweet potato chips. They both really enjoyed their meals as well. Very tasty, large portions, and reasonable pricing. For me… i would endure the wait times to eat there. As long as it wasn’t an unreasonable amount of time.

My love of the food is beginning to be outweighed by the consistently horrible service! Do not even bother showing up after six if you plan to get any kind of service bad or good! No one will come, out and greet you and if they do it will be on their own sweet time. If you get service don’t even dream of a refill or a smile as all the night waitresses will glare at you leaving you with the impression they would rather you leave. Food is yummy, but service is horrible don’t even bother coming.

Biscuit was fantastic, better than a fair scone. However it’s pretty spendy. Chicken avocado omelette with hash browns and a biscuit $ 18 !!! Guess they think you should pay double the cost due to their huge portions. Food was bland, minus the homemade jam(delicious) but if your hungry & love breakfast this is the place for you.

Me and my husband love this place and have enjoyed it every time until today. When we arrived at around noon on a Thursday they were busy with the lunch rush. We ordered and it took over an HOUR to get our food. When we finally got our food it had barely any flavor. We ordered the denver drive with home fries and a club with french fries. We took most of it home and I gave the left overs of the breakfast to my 14yr old who said it was bland before i said anything about it. Just dont go there when they are busy and it will be amazing.

My husband took me here a few weeks ago, after a friend told him about it. I was so pleased with the large portions, freshness, and flavor of the food. I will definitely make this a go to place for dates and out of town guest.

To be fair I didn’t try the food my friend and I went here Friday night about 8 o’clock they seated us right away brought us water and didn’t come back to the table to take our order we waited 30 minutes and decided that it was taking way too long and we were going to go somewhere else. Kind of bummed I’ve been looking forward to trying this place.

I should’ve read the reviews more closely! I came on a weekday morning my first time and there was almost zero wait for a six-person party. Awesome food, ridiculously huge portions. I talked the place up to my husband and we went on a Saturday mid-morning. BIG mistake. We waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged by the hostess, another 20 minutes to get seated, and an HOUR for our food. We should’ve left and made breakfast at home since we didn’t eat a single bite until lunch hour. The management is awful — if they’ve had multiple reviews that state how horrific the service is on weekend mornings, you’d think they would put their A Team together, right? Their servers tips are suffering and I’m surprised they’ve stayed in business this long. Good luck chuck…

This is my 5th time here. I moved to this area recently and saw this place and deciding to check it out has turned out to be awesome. I’m a night shifter and they open right when I get off in the am it’s perfect timing for me to get a morning brew haha and a epic skillet with soooo many good breakfast favorites tied into it! This has to be one of my top favorite restaurants ever so far. I can smell my food in th… Oh and it’s just here gotta go:)

So… When I first came here, I had come on a early weekday morning. Not busy at all. I was wondering why this place only had 3 stars and finally read the reviews. Every, single, one, was labeled about the wait time. I had been raving about this place to my husband for months stating how generous the portions were and how yummy the food was, especially their biscuits n gravy. We arrive. Before I officially start my story, let me state that there are(from my knowledge) 5 waitresses. There were no more than 40 people in there, AND, a large group of people using a back room were about to leave. We get in and immediately see empty tables. The waitress says«it’s gonna be a 30 – 45 minute wait to get a table and then a 10 – 15 minute wait for food.» Please note this is WHILE the large group was still there. We sit and wait… the good 35 minutes. But in the meantime, after the large group in the back left, she starts telling new people walking in the door«It’s gonna be a 10 – 15 minute wait to get a table and a 30 – 35 minute wait for the food.» … doesn’t quite make any sense with less people, but alright. We finally get seated, by this time my husband and I are definitely hungry. We immediately order our food and put it in. In the meantime, my husband and I were both starting to get frustrated… At one point I use the restroom and a woman goes«man I am so full!» And I go «well at least you got your food, we’ve been waiting an almost an hour.» And she goes«Well they said someone was sick and had to call in.» Which is no excuse considering from all of the other reviews that it was a problem to begin with. …Sitting, waiting, and 45MINUTESLATER, our food FINALLY comes out.(Remember, there are only about 30 people in the restaurant at this time). My husband was really mad, and normally my husband does not get mad over stuff. He’s very calm and mellow, but this was just about blew his nozzle. He stated his food was only«okay.» I personally liked mine. We are finally done eating. I wanted to leave no tip. Anyways, we finally left. Let me explain now why I’m leaving one star. — The waitresses were slow as molasses. On top of that, I noticed they had a routine. The chick at the front would write peoples names down for tables, seat them, and get their drinks. Another chick only wrote down peoples food orders and got their checks. Another chick only brought out food. And the two other chicks did other things like cleaning tables and whatnot. I appreciate their organization, but it’s very ungrateful when you consistently here the waitress who was running the front continuously babbling about how she felt like she had to do more than one job. Ya know, multitasking. She at one time had to get an alcoholic beverage for someone and went«Oh look! Now I’m a bartender!» In a mocking tone. And the second waitress I mentioned noticed people needed coffee refills and instead of doing it herself, she bothered another waitress who was already busy, and told her to do it. !!! — Now the part I’m really ticked about. THEWAITTIME. WHATONEARTHISGOINGONBACKTHEREINTHEKITCHEN??? FIXIT! The only conclusions that I can think of that is wrong with the kitchen is, 1. They don’t have enough cooks. 2. They have cooks but they are slow as molasses. 3. They don’t prep anything and try to take care of orders from COMPLETE scratch all at once. 4. All of the above. — With a restaurant as small as theirs(and especially when it’s not completely full) there should be no reason that food should be coming out at a 45 minute wait time. It is really unfortunate how good the food is here, but how unwilling the restaurant is to fix the wait problem after countless reviews over the subject. We drove here from Port Orchard and I’m very upset that my husband had to witness yall like this. I mostly likely will not be coming again.

Huge portions, great taste, long wait for food… worth it. Chicken and waffles were best I’ve had in WA so far. Alot better than IHop’s. Home fries were filling. Miles of Meat skillet was mostly potatoes. They should add more meat. Philly cheese steak omelet was mostly green and red bellpeppers. Needs more steak. We’d come here again to try other things on their menu.

My boyfriend and I decided to finally try this place out despite the other reviews warning others of the wait time. We were hungry and did not have work till later in the evening so we had time. Walking in, my eyes automatically went to reading all the signs as we waited to be seated. It’s a Tuesday morning and about 4 tables available. It took about 2 minutes for us to be seated. The menu is full of things to try and a lot of flexibility in your meal and«upgrades» for a couple of dollars more. My boyfriend got the pancake meal and I got the meat lovers meal. Order was taken promptly and food was delivered in about 20minutes! Very happy that it wasn’t an hour+ wait. Everyone is not exaggerating about the portion size here. These entrees are HUGE! The pancakes are ginormous. My hashbrowns were piled high. Serious, the portions are so large it’s a bit sickening. Thinking this might be a case of «quantity over quality», I was wrong. The food had a lot of flavors and we both enjoyed our meals. We both took a box full of food home. Only thing I didn’t like was that my water was empty through half the meal. Not a big deal. Next time, my bf and I know to just share a meal. Thanks for a great breakfast, Carrs :)

This was my first time here, I’ve heard such great things about the meals so I had to come in and see for myself. The building itself looks a little shabby on the outside but when you walk in it brightens up with cute little car details littered around the whole restaurant. I ordered the fried chicken and waffles and my cousin had the chicken fried steak with loaded hash-browns. The fried chicken was more than a little crispy but the cole slaw and waffles were delicious! The check fried steak was GINORMOUS and completely worth coming here for. I think I might have to come back to try that breakfast though!

While visiting daughter three and her hubby, I met with friends for breakfast at Carrs. I was a little concerned that there was only one person in the restaurant, however I was reminded that it was Thursday and early,(apparently folks don’t wake and eat in WA — perhaps they are out scaling Mt. Rainer — an awesome sight for this flat-lander of Chicago). However, Carrs was still a great place for a basic, homemade fresh breakfast. They have a very extensive breakfast menu that is covered in heavy duty lamination adding weight to the menu, but like I said it was extensive,(pages). Not being a heavy duty breakfast eater, I opted for what I normally eat in the morning; fruit, plain Greek yogurt and hard boiled eggs. I didn’t want to egg hard boiled eggs that had been refrigerated and said so to our waitress and she suggested poached eggs. This was great quick thinking on the part of the waitress. I appreciated. The picture that was posted for the serving of the fruit was appealing — it looked hefty, however, I thought it could be misleading, so I asked if the«fruit bowl“was as it was pictured. The waitress assured me it was, so I ordered it… and it was as it was pictured. My only disappointment came when I wanted Greek yogurt. Our waitress shared that it was dropped from the menu because too few people ordered it and the portions that were purchased by the restaurant went bad. I wondered why not just order smaller portions and perhaps offer granola as an option… Still everything that I did order was fresh, tasty and enjoyable. My friends both also feasted on Ferrari French toast, eggs and ham,(a large slice of ham). They were thoroughly satisfied, but not with the half stick of margarine that topped the toast. The waitress brought out a bowl to house the scoops that no one wanted. I ordered a carry-out meal for my daughter of «Miles of Meat» skillet breakfast. It was huge! I ate the potatoes :-) Overall the restaurant was clean, the waitress helpful and great homemade food. And to top off the experience, where could you go and see a road sign about a volcano on the front of the building. That’s just neat — weird neat.

I flew in from New Orleans yesterday and was starving. My Dad right away said he knew just the place if my appetite was big. We drove to lakewood and came into Carrs. It was dead when we got there only two people in the joint. The place was clean with all kinds of auto paraphernalia, which was cool. Prices are pretty good considering the portions. My God it’s alot of food. Not bad either. This place is the spot if you are hungry for breakfast. I’d advise sharing your plate though because you aren’t going to finish it on your own. Seriously… No joke. I had a great experience with our service. Waitress was sweet as pie and had the sweetest smile as she checked up on us regularly. And that was even as more people started strolling in. My parents to come in here alot. I see why.
