Marla Port is AMAZING. She was the hair stylist for my wedding this past weekend, doing my hair, my mother’s hair, and my bridesmaids’ hair in updos. Full disclosure: Marla was going to be a guest at my wedding regardless, as she has been friends with my new husband since college. However, when I asked if there was any chance she’d be willing to also style hair for the wedding party, she jumped on board and went full steam ahead!
I met Marla for the first time in person two days before the wedding when she flew in to Chicago early for my hair trial. We were instant friends and she was fun and professional through every moment she was working. She spoke extensively with my bridesmaids about their updo ideas and was ready to make suggestions when needed. My trial went extremely well, and the day of Marla made the tweaks needed to create the perfect hair style. I originally planned to wear my veil the whole night, but when it was cumbersome to dance in, she was right there to safely pull it out and ensure my hair stayed flawless.
At the end of the night, despite HOURS of hardcore dancing, me and my bridesmaids still looked put together. My hair was never out of place or uncomfortable. Marla was super efficient and was ahead of schedule the entire day, even making time to do my mother’s hair on a whim and tidying up the groom too. My mother has been a professional hair stylist for the last 30+ years (but hates doing updos) and she was so impressed with Marla’s work! Marla KNOWS HER STUFF and you just might get lucky and have a best friend for life after working with her!

Marla is fabulous in every sense of the word. She knows her craft which is CURLY HAIR and that is saying a lot!
Marla takes a lot of time to build a relationship with her client so that not only is there total trust, but an amazing head of hair to show for the effort.
