King Soopers

HUGE signs (multiple) says open 24 hours but they are NOT! Very disappointing. Should be same as gas station expectations. If you change your hours you SHOULD change your sign before your hours! Totally flustered.

I’m usually the person who compliments a manager when service is good. I rarely complain. This morning I am extremely frustrated. This store had a lot of employees working and nobody takes ownership.
I was trying to locate something and nobody took ownership to help me. I went to 4 different employees before finally walking out.
With the new community being built. I hope for King Soopers sake that customer service improves.

Their recent renovations made a nice store even nicer.
Plenty of parking, if a bit difficult to navigate at times.
Prices are good, with plenty of sale items and a nice, big produce area.
Staff is so nice! Always a manager/​supervisor at the front, happy to give directions and always has a smile.
My go-​to grocery store in Lakewood.

Pharmacy staff is inept and rude.
Stopped by The Little Clinic so my wife could get some antibiotics. Things went smooth, and they said the would sent the prescription to the pharmacy across the aisle inside the King Soopers, and it would be a 20 minute wait.
So, we did our grocery shopping (because, let’s face it, that’s why The Little Clinic is in the store) and after (more than) 20 minutes we stopped by the pharmacy on our way out.
The first pharm-​tech told us that our prescription wasn’t ready, and that we should have checked in with them because «they only check their e-​mail once in a while» and that it’d be another 20 minutes.
We sat down. 20 minutes latter we get back in line, and the second pharm-​tech tells us that it’ll be another 15 minutes. We ask her to transfer our prescription to the Walgreens by our house so we can leave (I can take my sick wife home) and she proceeds to explain to us how much longer if will take to transfer the prescription. But, to really top it off she refuses to actually transfer the prescription, saying, «It’s your responsibility to have the other pharmacy call us to get YOUR prescription transferred.»
I’ll tell you what my responsibility is, to warn other people about how awful your service is. So here I am. There’s really great service at the Target and the Walgreens across the street from this terrible little pharmacy. Use either of them, and you’ll be happy you did.

(Posted photos of rotten tomatoes before this review.) One star because I can’t give zero. After moving to Colorado from the east coast I have been largely let down by the grocery store selections. I thought Colorado prided itself on local, whole foods, especially after seeing countless King Soopers billboards claiming so. As Whole Foods is ridiculously overpriced, I have been left to shop at King Soopers as there is no middle ground. I must say, not only is the produce selection scarce, overpriced for the value, and old, it is an actual health risk. Every time I ship here the entire avocado selection is mushy and old and I have to spent five minutes feeling each one for one decent avocado. Products are inconsistent from location to location. Last night I bought a carton of blackberries only to get home and find MOLD on the fruit and bottom of carton. Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture, however I did take a picture of these Suntastic tomatoes I bought. This is absolutely disgusting. Rotten tomatoes that exploded open. Your produce is vomit inducing. I will now officially be taking my business to other grocery chains, however I WILL be periodically going into King Soopers to photograph bad produce and post it on Unilocal.You are a public health risk. Get your act together or close down. Nasty.

Pharmacy Customer Service is terrible! Refilled a prescription on Monday, Pharmacy didn’t contact the Doctor until Wednesday, Pharmacy did not follow-​up despite my several calls and now I have to go the weekend without my medicine. BAD!
Also, parking is horrible at this store. Boxes everywhere late at night and early in the morning makes it tough to navigate the aisles.

Dirty, understocked and piss-​poor «Customer Service»
The «Cashier» at the self-​checkout named «Diane» literally SNATCHED my eggs and threw them back down because she didn’t like me using a plastic bag to shield my raw produce from the gross stains and liquids she never bothered to clean up on ALL of the self-​checkout scanners that (her ONLY task) she was manning.
She and the two managers I complained to were absolutely rude and useless.
There are 5 other King Soopers within like 3 miles from here. Choose literally ANY other of them over this hellhole.

The outside is a little shabby, but inside looks like it’s been remodeled. Easy to find what we were looking for!

Minus half a point for the name. I hate this name. I don’t like to admit I shop here because of the name. It’s ridiculous.
Minus another half a point for the ghetto parking lot. I always feel like I’m going to be stabbed when I park there.
That being said, the store itself is quite lovely. It’s a local version of Kroger, and while I never had a Kroger growing up, I don’t have a negative perception of Kroger, so I was willing to give this store a chance despite the name.
It’s right up the street from my house so it makes it easy to get things quickly. And, they have a pretty great selection. Their deli is great and the staff is friendly. The meat is fresh and tastes great. The bakery has some good-​looking things but could be a little more stocked in the pick-​your-​own bread (bagels, rolls, etc.) section.
I’m still trying to figure out the layout, and have had to double– and triple-​back almost every time I’m in the store (perhaps it’s not just me?), but I get 99% of everything I need.

Arrived to Denver at 2:30am and forgot to pack the most important thing in my life for this trip… they open 24 hours … and there are all in close by location… Bonus… and they accept RALPH’s club card!!! For a out of towner like me… I already love this market!

This King Soopers finished remodeling a few months ago, and it’s become a very nice grocery store. The produce tends to be fresh and the meat and chicken are good quality as well. Cold cuts are often on sale. I tend to use the self check-​out, but the few employees I have interacted with have been helpful.
Parking can be tricky, and I still prefer Sunflower, but the remodel has turned this into a completely passable grocery store. Plus it’s on my way home from work, where Sunflower, sadly, is not.

The fact that I have become the duchess of Kind Soopers makes me feel the need to review King Soopers. HA HA Does any one else find humor in this? I chuckle…
Sadly, I kind dislike going to this location… A LOT! Over the last couple years the people have become kinder and more helpful but I can’t help but wonder if its because I am there so much that I have become numb to their rudeness?
My last and most frustrating experience with them left me irritated. I was in a hurry one morning and ran in quickly to purchase a gift card. I purchased it from the customer service counter and ran out. In my hurry I didn’t realize till later in the day I hadn’t gotten my $ 15 in change. So I called to let them know and asked if they had found the discrepancy yet. I spoke with a manager and she was beyond rude. Her response to my dilemma was «oh, I’m sure you did. Well, if you didn’t get your change it should show up in the morning and we’ll call you.» Now without being able to add any tone of voice with that statement, it doesn’t sound all that rude. Trust me it was.
Next morning I get a voicemail from her apologizing for the mistake and letting me know I can come get my change. So she made it better by apologizing after the fact.
In the future manager at King Soopers don’t be so rude. Maybe I will find the urge to do a positive update, but really… i doubt it.
