A hidden gem that is hard to find. I have been searching for Filipino food for awhile now. The only place I have known around Lakewood was Maresol, which I went once and never went back. Then I heard about this place and decided to try it out. I’m so glad I did. First off, they make their food when you order it. I really like this because I know my food will be fresh and hot. Other places I have visited have all their food items in a food warmer, so you don’t know how long it’s been sitting there. I had the chicken adobo and it was all meat! They make their adobo with boneless meat which is a plus! Pancit is good and the Siapoa is great! Their dessert is another tasty treat. So much variety. Their chocolate cupcake with espresso frosting is so good but the strawberry guava cupcake is even better! They are only open on the weekends(Saturday and Sunday).

I don’t go here often because I can cook Filipino food, but when I do, I have the breakfast plates. They are the bomb diggity! I would give this place 5 stars but they are only open on the weekends. They need a Bigger sign that can be seen off Bridgeport!!! Give this place a try! Don’t knock it til you try it!

I think I’m being pretty generous with three stars but I also may be extremely critical. I got a few pastries, sapin sapin, and turon. I also got the sinigang and chicken adobo. The sapin sapin didn’t have much taste, the halayang ube tasted like butter with a hint of ube. As for the service, the lady that rang me up was nice but I ordered all at once, she forgot about the turon, I had no cash so I had to pay with debit, she charged me a 2nd $ 0.50 processing fee after it was clearly her fault for forgetting my complete order. It’s not the money, it’s more of the principle. Maybe I’m spoiled growing up in VA, Hawaii, and Houston, getting to eat the delicious filipino pastries from the lovely bakeries in those cities but I figured Id give it a try since it had 4 stars. The chances of me going back is highly unlikely.

This is the only place that serves pandesal around my area. I woke up late so late that when I came at 3 pm they were no more pandesal :(On a good note, they have everything else that I was craving for! Leche flan, puto, kuchinta and suman. I didn’t know that they also served meals. The lechon paksiw was great! Palabok was ok — nothing special. I would give this place 5 stars but they have very limited seating. My husband and I had to wait for chairs! Thank goodness 2 older men offered their chairs. It’s hard to stand eating especially being pregnant! Thank you kind sirs! That’s the culture I so miss!

Legacy is Lakewood’s best kept secret. The quality of food is wonderful. This mom and pop shop provides scratch made, rustic meals that satisfy the palate while leaving the tummy full. The service is some of the best in the Tacoma area. The family that runs the restaurant leave the customer feeling valued; they actually remember customers after one visit. The bonus is that I can afford to feed all of my five kids, my wife and me for a weekend treat without having to cut something else out of the budget– seriously, it’s affordable. The only downsides are that they are only open on weekends and have very limited seating. This is practically a take-out only kind of place.

Food is delicious and they offer all the popular filipino dishes. The Siopao(pork or chicken steamed buns) are delicious. Legacy also offers a variety of delicious filipino desserts. Catering is also available. The staff are very friendly and customer oriented. The place has a few seats and countertops, but be prepared to take-out as it can get busy. PS: The Halo Halo and the Guava Strawberry Cake«da bomb» — Yum!

I decided to check out Legacy today instead of going all the way to Seafood City in Tukwila to satisfy a Filipino-sweets craving. I am so impressed! They have ube, which I haven’t been able to find anywhere here in Tacoma! I got their halo halo, which was huge and so good!!! Also took home an order of pancit palabok($ 5 for a big takeout box!) and buko pandan. I’ve tried both since getting home and they are great. I hear their siapao is amazing so I’ll have to get some next time. They have a great selecting and I can’t wait to try more items. The girl at the counter was super-nice! I wish they were open during the week though!

I recently moved to WA from NC and I have never seen so much Pinoy’s until I got here in WA. Its Christmas for me. I found Legacy through this app and got to check it out with my family. I like the kakanin’s they have. Main Karioka and Turon so as the Chiopao. Considering the Pandesal made here in the states, I assume some of the ingredients are different, probably its expensive to export. But the taste is there. The owners are friendly and I just feel like I am back home. So over all its a great place to go, they have new menu every week and its nice place to eat and get bread every week.

As a long-term member of the federal canoe club, I have grown very familiar with Filipino cuisine enough so to crave it periodically. Saw the reviews of fellow Unilocalers and decided to give this place a try. Service very typical for a Filipino establishment: polite, helpful, and information. The take out was pretty good, but not of the calibre of per se a large Filipino gathering. On the other hand, the cassava cake was way better than expected as it was was very moist yet not lead heavy. Plan on returning, but still looking for the ultimate Filipino food fix.

The food was ok, not the best I’ve tried. But then, I did just move to WA after growing up on Guam(about 30% of the population are Filipinos), so I have pretty high standards. It felt like the food was almost on point, but constantly missed the mark. We ordered three different things, plus dessert; The siopao was good in flavor and size, but they didn’t put any eggs inside! Don’t get me wrong, the siopao was still delicious, but like the rest of the dishes, there was something missing. Next, we had the palabok. The noodles were thicker(like Malabon noodles), and the sauce was flavorful, but it was a little too fishy, almost a little too overpowering. However, I did let the palabok sit for a few hours, and it tasted way better! Lastly, we had the adobo. This was probably the most disappointing dish. :(The sauce wasn’t thick enough, and it tasted a little watered down. All in all, the food was okay. I don’t know if my disappointment stemmed from my overly hyped perception of this place. Oh well, I guess my search for the best Filipino joint in WA continues. :)

I took a chance and ordered my mom’s 52nd birthday cake from this place. So glad I did! We actually ordered two cakes in the shape of Mah-jong pieces. They totally got my vision! :) They’re only open on weekends but that’s enought for me. The same day I ordered the cake I went home with one of their $ 5 plates of chicken adobo, the flavor was totally authentic but the portion of chicken was a little small, still worth the 5 buks though. They also have a crazy amount of desserts. I took home the strawberry guava cake and some puto. Both Awesome. And she gave me a free Kerioka!

Legacy is: — A solid ace for take out Filipino baked goods and food — A small, family run business that will take very good care of you — Inexpensive — Only open weekends(as of this writing) I fell in love with their carioka at the Asian New Years Festival this year at the Tacoma Dome. Fortunately, I was able to get a business card so my hamster brain would remember where to find them(Tucked in a Lakewood strip mall where the QFC used to be, near Lakewood Town Centre). They have amazing baked goods here. In some ways I’m glad they’re only open weekends… You can order cakes here with all the Filipino favs — leche flan, ube, etc. Also, they do catering — get a big tray of pancit for about $ 25 or a dozen fluffy, huge siopao for about $ 18. All hot entrees are $ 5. Yes, $ 5. Portions are Filipino big. I had arroz caldo this weekend and my daughter had pancit palabok — both were excellent. I hate to say it, but the arroz caldo was better than my family’s(please don’t tell on me). We also had suman — about $ 4 — also very good. Halo-halo is mine next time! Also note — this is more of a take out place. There’s a counter with enough space for maybe five people, but there are enough parks around that you can take your meal and go with ease.

For years, my wife and I have kept tabs on just about every Filipino restaurant and cuisine store in the area. And we’re very happy to say that Legacy is the most Fantabulous and Delicious weekend bakery we know of! Though all of there dishes and treats are very good the things we keep going back for are: Siopao(Humbow) — Absolutely the BEST! Bodacious soft dough with really yummy filling. Pansit Palabok — A rich shrimp sauce over a bed of rice noodles, dressed with slices of boiled egg, green onion, roasted garlic, and of course lots of lemon! Karaoka — Deep fried rice/coconut balls caramelized with brown sugar — super yummy! Ukoy — Fresh fried batter and noodles with shrimp inside. Remember to use the vinegar sauce! Masarap! This place is sure to be a top spot for Filipine Cuisine in Lakewood. Give it a try, I’m certain you’ll be wonderfully surprised!

SARAP! This place is the go to place for Filipino cuisine. They cater, and make some legit Filipino food. The bakery is amazing and way affordable! If you do not try this place than you are totally un-rad! In one visit I pretty much took a culinary tour of the Philippines. They had out amazing samples of their baked goods and desserts. Oh man was I in heaven. Lets break down what I had: Siopao– Chicken steamed bun– 5 stars! Chicken Adobo & Rice– 4 ½ stars. Carioka– Sweet coco-nutty fried goodness– 5 stars! Empanada– 4 ½ stars. Pancit Canton– The Philippines version of chow mein– 5 stars! Ginataang monggo — A bean and and coconut dessert I think– 5 stars! I had some other samples that I do not remember what they were but I give them a 5 star. So, I got all that above, the two meals; Adobo & Pancit, were overflowing with food, the to-go containers felt about 10 pounds each! The adobo comes with rice, so everything I got cost just over $ 10. It fed; me, my wife, and my son, for two meals! The owners were so nice. It is a family run business. The only downside is that for now they are only open on the weekends and by appointment during the week. They all work normal 9 – 5 jobs during the week, so they are busting their buldet’s all week and bringing culinary joy to the world on the weekends. I have had Filipino food many times, and this is by far some of the best I have had. There is one downside, it is in Lakewood and not in Puyallup. I look forward to frequenting this place when in Lakewood.

Warm friendly greeting as you walk in and it smells wonderful! There is such a variety of Phillipino delights to choose from it’s hard to know where to start. The chicken siopao(steamed buns) is the best I’ve had and the flan is so rich and creamy. Definatley a great addition to Lakewood!
