Life Center Thrift Store

I was unpleasantly surprised as soon as I walked through the door. The smell of urine filled the air, and the whole place was a mess. I went in with my husband. Neither of us were greeted or even acknowledged. We noticed the cashier, whose name was Linda, was very rude to the customers. I felt bad for a lady interacting with her and we were just so appalled by her behavior (she pretty much through the lady’s credit card at her and forced her to bag her own purchase, not even saying thanks or bye when she left), that we immediately left and have decided not to return and support a storefront that allows it’s customers to be treated as such. I guess we will pray for this little store haha.

It’s so cluttered and dirty inside. The workers didn’t even acknowledge you or ask if you needed help. A few workers where in the back doing something and I could hear them pretty loudly swearing and talking about things that aren’t really appropriate for a place that you work. Some things I can’t believe that they even put a price on because it is just in that bad of shape. The cashier was an older woman who was very friendly though. I’m giving two stars because if you look hard enough you may be lucky enough to find something cool (as with any second-​hand store).

It’s very sad to see a store that was once such a treasure go downhill. This was once a great store for most any type of item. Life Center Lakewood is located in an older neighborhood and the donations would often reflect this. Now, this store can be summed up with two adjectives:
Filthy. Picked-​over.
It is probable that this Life Center is no longer affiliated with the church that runs the Life Center store on 6^th Avenue. It would seem one family is now running this store — and they cherry pick the donations, then put the rest out.
There is trash all over the store. Dusty. Last time I was in, prices on things they guessed were «valuable» were just silly. One star reflects just how poor the inventory and cleanlliess is.
One word summation: Skip.
