I LOVED my experience with Dr. Lewis. I had been told by previous doctors not to get an IUD because I was young and would change my mind about wanting kids. First of all, this is not 1970 and IUDs are a completely reversible form of birth control not just recommended for those who have already given birth, as they once were. Secondly (although maybe this should be firstly) I am an adult human. Treat me like I know myself, my body, and can decide what’s right for me.
Which is exactly what Dr. Lewis did. She listened to my needs and concerns, got to know me, placed the IUD, did a follow-​up ultrasound one month later to make sure it was placed correctly, and has just been an all-​around wonderful experience. I recommend her to everyone I know. The IUD isn’t right for everyone, but I knew that it was for me and I just wish I had found her sooner. I no longer live in Colorado, but wish that I was because I have never before or since found a doctor that truly listens as she did.
