Beef enchiladas were really good. Rice and beans were not that warm, I’ve had better. Chips were good with different salsas and carrots were really good. My son had a huge burrito. Very good. I would go back.

With all the very good Taquerias in the area, I don’t understand why this place is still open. I’ve eaten here a couple of times last year and I was not impressed at all. So recently I thought I’d give them more chance and yet again I walked away disappointed. I can only suspect they want to carter to the American palette, very safe and bland with a touch of soft squishy food. Yes, the prices are pretty cheap, but then again so are all the other very good taquerias that are frequented by the hispanic population in the Lakewood area. Hispanic customers is also something you don’t see at Memo’s.

Best breakfast burritos in the Puget sound and this is coming from someone that’s lived in Texas for years. And there salsa verde is on point. Their shredded beef chimichangas are delicious and everything is decently affordable. It’s my new favorite spot to eat. 5⁄7 would recommend.

Used to come here quite a bit with my husband. We used to be big fans of the carne asada fries. After a while, I noticed how much gristle and fat was in the meat, every single time, which is a huge NO for me. But on a positive note, they do have amazing ham, egg, cheese & potato breakfast burritos.

Pretty decent value here. Prices are low, food is good. My wife had the veggie taco, I had a beef taco with a chicken enchilada. Came quickly after ordering. Service is ordering at a counter, then picking it up and eating indoors. The building is brightly painted, and very clean. Need to come by and try the Chorizo breakfast burrito.

I am sorry to say, but the food over here is the worst Mexican food I ever had. I had beef torta on my 1st visit and chicken quesidilla on my 2nd. I got diaappointed both times. Meat was not cooked properly and it felt like chewing gum. I will not come here again. I recommend California Taco in Tilicum, they serve excellent Mexican food!

Come here regularly for vegan burritos at midnight. They make great tacos and chimichangas too. Don’t go anywhere else if you want fast cheap authentic Mexican food.

Highly impressed! Being pregnant, when I decide that I want something, I stop at nothing until I get it. Washington lacks one very important thing. Good Mexican food. BUT!!! I was craving breakfast tacos or a burrito this morning & thought I’d give Memos a try after my hairstylist recommended it for some real good authentic Mexican food. One word. Damn. I had a HUGE breakfast burrito, the egg, cheese, bacon, & potato one. It was 110% to my liking. The salsas they gave us were excellent as well. I ordered a half dozen tamales because that is my final judgment on an establishment to verify its authenticity. Now, the tamales were pretty damn good too! I make tamales regularly at home, so overall these stack up. I’m pretty excited to say my husband & I will be giving this a dinner shot sometime very soon. From the looks of it, I’m looking forward. Dang happy with my breakfast! Reminds me of the yummy breakfasts I could get back home in TX at the taquerias.

Don’t go here if you are wanting Tex/Mex food! Too many onions! Being Hispanic and from El Paso, TX. This was the worst Mexican food I have ever had!!!

Food was bad… We ordered fish taco, nachos and a chicken quesadilla. Fish taco tasted old fish, super greasy. The nachos were greasy as well. The quesadilla was somehow watery in the plate super salty my kids didn’t like it. Is not typical Mexican restaurant its more like fast food low quality food.

Our family recently moved to the area from the east coast where there wasn’t a lot of good Mexican restaurants. We are used to hole in the wall restaurants where you can get big breakfast burritos and real tacos. This is the closet I’ve found that offers something similar to my home state of Arizona. If you’re looking for a sit down establishment then go somewhere else. However, if you want some Carne Asada tacos like your grandma makes then stop here. Their breakfast burritos are big and good. I thought the beans were a little plain but if you add some salsa to the top of them then they are good to go. We will definitely be back.

Great service though kind of slow, probably just because they’re always so busy with not a lot of people working. Seems kind of run down but I think it’s just actually run hard being 24⁄7. Amazing soft tacos that’s are exceptionally filling. Being able to get a breakfast burrito any time of the day and also great plus they all taste amazing. Carnitas fries are a delicious surprise also, they gave me an order for free one time that they had mistakenly made. They were awesome.

I’m originally from San Diego & of course the taco shops there are one of a kind & San Diego has one of the best. Of course even in San Diego some taco shops are hit & miss. Tbh Memo’s was not as bad I thought it would be. It was actually pretty good & the closest yet I’ve had close to SD taco shops living in WA. The carne asada & adobada fries were not to bad. Just get it w|out the beans I love beans just not on my fries lol. There open 24 hours too so that’s a plus. My family will likely come back.

I’m from Southern California and I used to eat at tijuana Mexico all the time since I was a baby. I recommend this spot. I only order the carne asada fries without the beans. I also like their shrimp burrito and their horchata. That’s all I get.

Tasted amazing, ordered Carne Asada borritos to go but recieved tacos. Also paid for 2 sides of guacamole and didn’t get them. I even left a 5 dollar tip… well try one more time but only bc it was really good even though it wasn’t what we ordered.

One word. Ick. I had the Adobada Fries. It was crap. Poor seasoning and just very bland. The salsa didn’t help as it’s very watery — spicy but no flavor. The place is freezing inside. I think it’s warmer outside. No chairs for fat guys, only permanently mounted booths. I’m not a happy guy after eating here, I won’t be back.

I grew up in east county San Diego, I KNOW what good San Diego style Mexican taco shop food is supposed to taste like. These little hole-in-the-wall places are everywhere down there, and all of them share common elements in the food offered; the hot sauce bar with house made hot sauces and hot carrots, the dry but elastic oversized flour tortillas, French fries used in burritos or carne asada fries, the thin creamy guacamole used to cover the crispy rolled tacos, massive amounts of shredded cheese… I could go on. All of said common elements that make up San Diego style Mexican food are 100% present here. Memo’s takes me so close to home, I would even go so far as to say it rivals some of my favorite east county taco shops back in SD. The hot sauce is hot, but flavorful. Both the red and the green. The«Washington burrito» is a California burrito in disguise, separated only by name, it is a very tasty treat, on par with the likes of similar burritos from Roberto’s, or Sombrero’s back home. They have Carne Asada Fries too! A common menu item in southern Cali, but rarely seen in the northwest. They are hot, covered in well seasoned meat, that creamy vicious guac, sour cream, and covered in shredded cheese — just like I used to get back in my hometown. They have great horchata too, nice and sweet, it really compliments the spicy food, and if you aren’t pouring hot sauce on every single bite of that burrito, you ain’t doin’ it right! The only menu item that seemed off to me was the chile rellenos, I never ordered it in any taco shop back home but my father in law got them at lunch once here and thought them to have a strange texture and aroma. That is literally my only complaint though, and it isn’t even really that. On conclusion, if you love good dive taco shop food memos is highly recommended; if you are a San Diego native and are a WA transplant like me, or just visiting the area and homesick for the food of your motherland, this is really the place to go for your cravings!

This place has really went down hill. It seems like when they first opened this place it was very good. Now, not so much. Bad meat, not fresh and not hot. Just thrown together. Won’t be going back. Sad too, I used to LOVE their breakfast burritos.

Ok this one is for all my peeps that grew up in Chula Vista California. Remember the awesomeness of Roberto’s Taco Shop? I thought I would NEVER ever eat at my beloved Roberto’s again. Somehow it is here in Tacoma(of all places) disguised as Memo’s. If you loved the rolled tacos with guac… here they are waiting for you. Even the hot sauce is almost dead on to Roberto’s. For those of you who did not grow up in Chula Vista, Memo’s is a nice little California style taco shop in an OLD school Taco Bell building. They have a drive through, but go inside so you can enjoy the salsa bar with red and green salsa and pickled carrots. They are apparently open 24 hrs and have some lunch specials from 11AM to 4PM that will feed someone on a tight budget. I had the rolled taco lunch plate and it came with 3 shredded beef rolled tacos, rice, beans and a small soda for $ 4.99. There are Vegan options here as well and I think I will most likely eat here 3 or 4 times a week until I try everything and who knows, I might just keep up that pace because its cheap, close to where I live, and delicious so why cook when I can eat a balanced meal for under $ 5 a few times a week? If you are expecting Taco Bell type ground beef then«make a run for the border”– that always bothered me because I grew up in Tijuana and I never ate ground beef tacos anywhere unless it was Picadillo, and that was nothing like Taco Bell meat. Ok done with my mini rant. Try this place… but I will say; I speak fluent Spanish and the guy ringing me up charged me for an extra lunch special, and did not readily give me the receipt, so the husband caught that it «seemed a little expensive» and questioned it. Once the worker realized he had charged me too much, he refunded the cash immediately. Every body has an off day and makes mistakes, so that will not scare me off. The food is good, and it was clean in there, so really to me, the service issues can be fixed easily enough. Just watch your receipt and check your order and problem solved.
