I will never go to this place again and I will be reporting them to the state. I have Ulcerative Colitis and for those that don’t know it is a horrible colon condition and quite often I have emergencies when I have to go to the bathroom and I can’t wait. I stopped at this gas station on my way to work and it was an emergency. I had never been here before and I didn’t know if they had public restrooms or not. There was only one older man working the counter and nobody else was in the store. It was just after 5 am in the morning. I walked around hoping to find a restroom. There was one and I was so relieved. I didn’t have any time to read any signs or whatever. If there was a bathroom there I was going to use it. Then, only a few seconds later the employee starts banging on the door over and over telling me to get out. He kept yelling, you are not allowed in there. You need to get out. You need to leave. I said that I had to go, I had a condition and it was an emergency. He kept saying the same thing like he wasn’t even listening to me. I got fed up and opened the door while I was still using the toilet to show him that I was using it and I was in a ton of pain. I was already so angry. Even that didn’t change the employee’s actions. He continued to say that I needed to leave and that this was not a public restroom. I told him that there was a state law in Washington that requires them to supply a restroom for those with a medical need but he would hardly let me finish. He kept yelling at me even though he saw that I was in a huge amount of pain. So I told him where to go and shut the door. Only a few minutes later I was at a point that I could at least leave and go somewhere else, hopefully with a restroom. That guy kept telling me to leave and never come back and I yelled back at him. I said that would have bought something after I finished but instead I will just spend my money across the street. That guy can go to hell for all I care. My recommendation, never go here if you care about how customers are treated. I went to the Chevron across the street and they were a thousand times better. Everybody should go there instead. The Washington state law that requires businesses to allow people with a medical need to use their private restroom if they don’t have public restrooms is RCW70.54.400. I will be calling their headquarters, the BBB, the state, and anybody else I can think of. People with digestive conditions will not tolerate this kind of harassment. Public businesses, especially filling stations, that do not offer public restrooms should be put out of business.
