This place is so great if you love loose teas. They are what Teavana should be. I when in for the first time to get a corporate gift and the staff was very helpful in helping me find the right teas to get. As I kept looking I couldn’t help getting a cup to go. I got just their basic black tea(sorry don’t remember the exact name) it was very good, not to harsh or bitter as I sometimes get from loose teas. She also showed me many more that I will definitely go back to try such as Green Tea Chai and their Earl Grey with Blueflower instead of lavender. She also informed me that as of Feb. 15th2016 they will be serving pastries to go with their awesome tea. Did I mention the reasonable pricing?! Most of the teas are around $ 2.50−3 an ounce. I think I find a new place to get my hot beverage fix from now on, Starbucks who?!

The workers here are so RUDE. I will not be back! I don’t like to be talked down to when asking questions about tea.

I love this place. I can’t say it enough. I was introduced to this place while searching for a loose leaf tea shop that wasn’t Teavanna. I have allergies and I have to be very careful of what is in my tea and I almost had to go to the hospital because of a blunder at Teavanna with them not checking the ingredients despite me telling them about my allergies. I digress, this is why I give the Tea Lab 5⁄5. I have been here on three different occasions and have been pleased each and every time. Because of my allergies, I have to ask a lot of questions about what is in all the different kinds of tea. I’ve been helped by 3 different individuals and each one was very patient with me, checking each tea to make sure it was safe for me to drink. All the employees I have interacted with are very knowledgeable on what goes in their tea. My favorite tea is their«Evening Comfort», an herbal tea with peppermint and lemon. Perfect for night time drinking and it even helps me sleep. There are so many teas that sound so good. And the tea is super affordable. There are many teas that are $ 3.00 or less for an ounce.

So here’s the scoop, The Tea Lab is a store where you go to buy loose leaf teas. It’s a small store but parking is free in the back(Aladin’s is on the corner). Inside you will find the current flavor promotion sample, along with magnetic jars with various teas to discover on a table. The walls to the left feature tea products(naturally) such as diffusers, makers, accessories, and much more. Behind the front counter are huge jars of loose tea on shelves. The teas are color coordinated based on the type that they are(Herbal, Roobios, White, Green, Oolong, etc). I would guess that they have at least 50 different flavors, including organic options. When you purchase your tea, you purchase by the ounce of loose tea. Each canister above the register will tell you the price per ounce(around $ 2-$ 4 per oz). Typically I buy between 2−3oz which lasts about a month for two servings daily. However they do offer larger volume discounts for those that are die hard tea drinkers. Service is shy yet friendly. They are also knowledgeable of their products which is a plus. After visiting on several occasions I have had consistent positive experiences. The Tea Lab is a must go for fellow tea aficionados.

Stopped in the Tea Lab for the first time and I was glad I did. I’m not much of a tea snob but after being at the tea lab it make me want to be. I made a couple small purchases and plan on going back again to try some new teas. Not knowing much about tea I wish I would have received a little more help but still a good experience.

What a cool place! I only bought a gift card but the girl working was very friendly and explained to me how much tea you can buy with certain increments of money. Can’t wait to go back and buy some of their delicious tea!

After months of false starts, I finally just paid a visit to The Tea Lab. Long story short, I love it! The smell when you walk through the doors is just lovely. The selection of teas is overwhelming, but they all sound amazing. There is a nice selection of teas set out for sampling, and I spent ages checking each of them out. I went in with plans to find a nice mint tea(which I did!), but I couldn’t resist trying a couple more. I figured you can never have enough chai, and they had planty of nice options(the Chelsea blend was my favorite). And I just fell in love with the fruit flavored black teas. I ended up choosing the apricot black tea, which I highly recommend. All in all, a nice little shop to visit!

This is a loose tea shop that also serves hot tea and has a couple tables. And wow. I wish this place had been around when I lived in Lakewood, because it is awesome! I love it and I am so glad I discovered it when I visited Lakewood recently. Big array of loose-leaf teas, properly stored in metal tins away from light. The tea is very good; I’m especially fond of their pure(unflavored) teas, although they also sell a number of flavored teas too. I run RateTea and have sampled hundreds of teas, and I know tea prices. The prices here are very reasonable, and I also like that they sell the teas in sizes as small as 1 ounce, which is an ideal size to sample something without buying too much if you tire of it. The storefront is bright and they’ve made it look spacious even though it’s not the hugest space. They also have a fairly large selection of teaware; it tends towards a bright, modern, cheerful aesthetic, and the tea infusers sold here are of a practical nature. I actually bought a basket infuser which I am very happy about. The prices on the teaware are also reasonable. This place also brews and serves hot tea, and there are a few tables in the front where you can sit down, sip your tea, and watch the street, enjoying your fine view of the 26RTA bus as it rolls down Detroit avenue. If you want to read in-depth reviews of specific teas sold here, I’ve been posting them on RateTea; there are two posted as of me writing this review, and I have two more on their way; you can find them here: Basically, you can’t go wrong with this store. Forget Teavana and the other overpriced chains: shop here. The tea is better, cheaper, and you’re supporting a small business in the downtown Lakewood business district. Oh, and there is a parking lot in the rear of the store.
