Depending on who is working there when you show up, you may or may not get your order. The last two times I have used the drive thru, I get to the window, and the person working the orders has messed up the order, and the food isn’t ready. She asks you again what it is you wanted, and if you still have the patience to wait around, again, for your food, you may or may not get what you paid for.

I have been to twisters many times in New Mexico Where I discovered twisters and fell in love with their chorizo burrito. When I moved here I was overly excited about twisters being here. I went there the second day I was here and it was disgusting inside the food is kept in the metal cookers nothing looks clean and the workers all seemed lost. I ordered my food and went home to be not overly surprised the food was gross. Nothingness like the twisters in new Mexico. I was honestly confused because even on the outside it speaks of the years of awards it won in the past. I went a second time to confirm this place is utterly gross in every way possible. Stay far away if you want food.

I’ve been to the drive thru here and the one on Buckley and really enjoyed my breakfast burritos. Yesterday my daughter and I decided to eat in at the Colfax location. All we ordered were two breakfast burritos, no changes and two waters. We waited and waited and waited. A man came in with a phone order to pick up 9 burritos; they rang up his order wrong. And we waited some more. Two simple burritos and it was 25 minutes. How ridiculous I’ve never waited longer than 10 minutes in the drive thru. The place looks shabby; is this the same furniture when it was a Wendy’s? No apologies for the wait and the two inept girls at the register kept ducking in the back as if we might ask them where our food was. When it was delivered to our table, it tasted great, as usual. Very sad that the service was so totally slow and the customer service so shoddy. I’ll probably still go thru the drive thru… maybe.

Twisters barely earns one star; if I could have rated this restaurant lower I would have. Pay attention to all the reviews saying this place is «sticky» & «dirty» because it is. Fortunately, we had wipes with us to clean our table. The floors were so sticky my flip-flops stuck to the floor. The food is not very good and the service is horrible. When you ask the cashier what she would recommend to eat and she is all tongue tied that was a big indicator telling us we should have left. Keep on driving to find a better quality restaurant and don’t waste your money here.

I used to LOVE this place. Great breakfast burritos, but lately this place has really gone down hill. I have given it 4, yes 4, tries and each time something happens. First, it took over 30 minutes to get a burrito from the drive through, there was only one other car and that car got a very small bag of food. So its not like they ordered a ton. Next time, they couldnt even make the burritos becuase they ran out of gloves… REALLY!!. The final straw has been the last 2 times. Both times I get a #2(Eggs, Potatoes, and green chili), both times it has come with cheese. I am allergic to cheese and thats why I order what I order. Like I said they used to have great burritos and great staff. Now its just another dump on colfax. I have give this place plenty of chances to get it together. I will no longer waste my money at this place.

Dirty– every table in the place was dirty along with the floors and piled up dishes on top of the trash cans. poor service– I stood in front of the register while some guy counted the register money for 5 minutes. He never acknowledged us at all. Then a young lady stepped up and asked us to wait a minute. 3 – 5 more minutes passed and we decided to leave that day. We decided to give them another try the next week. We started giving our order and the the lady taking our order just walks away and starts cooking and putting burritos together, GROSS. She returns a couple minutes later like nothing happened and rushed us through our order. 20 minutes later we got our food! It sucked! Tasteless and weak. Below average food would be very generous. It used to be much better. I used to take my kids here once a week for breakfast. The service used to be friendly and fast. Maybe there was a management change. I am done going here!

This place wants to be one part Chubby’s and one part local burger joint — the problem — it isn’t great at either. Don’t get me wrong, the food is fine. Chile isn’t very hot, flavors aren’t that memorable and the everything is just a little more bland than you would expect. The place is clean, the service is fast and it sort of hits the spot if you need a burrito fix.

New Mexican(Albuquerque) reviewer here… Used to love this place for true New Mexican food in Colorado… UNTIL the company was sold. Apparently the love for preparing quality NM food was not passed on to the new owners(same company as Subway). The quality has taken an embarrassing dive… no longer a place to feed my NM food addiction! You will no longer see a New Mexican preparing your food here. More likely than not it is prepared by someone who knows NM only by Breaking Bad, with zero knowledge of what NM food preparation should be. Hell, Taco Bell is now more authentic… at least they have Hispanics preparing the food! Skip this place unless you are seeking a cheap, sub-par taco. DEFINITELY skip if real NM food is what you seek!

My 10 year old son and I went there for breakfast this morning. This place has been hit and miss in the past as far as the quality of food and their service. When they’re on they’re on though so I still go there from time to time. After this morning though this will be my last visit for sure. We both ordered their 2+4+4 and 2 orange juices. 2 eggs, 4 silver dollar pancakes, hash browns and bacon. The total was almost $ 20! Pricey. I can get a better choice and quality at a sit down breakfast place like Village Inn or Perkins for cheaper. Oh well, we were there so we were going to give it a chance. We saw 3 people get served their food, eat their whole meals and leave while we were still waiting for ours. Isn’t this place supposed to be fast food? No one had come out to explain why it was taking so long. I had to walk up to the counter to ask what was up. The cook that was on duty told me sorry and that the reason why it was taking so long was that she didn’t know how to make it. Really? Bacon and eggs? You don’t know how to make that? She said it was the egg part that she didn’t know. What place hires cooks that can’t even prepare eggs??? I begrudgingly returned to my seat and waited 10 more minutes before I finally gave up waiting. Right before I could stand up to go to the counter to request my payment back the young boy cashier came out to apologize and tell me that the breakfast would be free and that it was almost ready. I told him thanks but no thanks. I just wanted my money back. We waited 40 minutes and I was done with the place. I went up to the counter and waited another 10 minutes for someone to finally give my my money back. They couldn’t find the receipt for the order so they asked my how much it was. I told them and they gave me a $ 20 dollar bill out of the register even though I paid with a debit card. Weird but whatever. I took it and couldn’t leave fast enough. While I was leaving they were telling other customers that they would have to wait at least 15 more minutes for their food. Obviously they were understaffed and under trained. I hold the management and owner fully responsible and we will never EVER return. What a COMPLETEJOKE. I feel sorry for their staff and customers.

Gross. Two Twister Burritos that were not edible. ¼ cooked fries in them. Heard the Chili Burgers were good, but will not be back.

Good food but they need to cook the potato’s longer. Potato’s should be browned not chalk white. This goes for the French fries and the potatos in the burrito.

On Sunday they have the Ultimate Burrito Chicken Special. It comes with Rice And Beans. First the Menu. They offer everything. From breakfast to Lunch to Dinner. And it has a Southwest Flair even with Indian Fry Bread. And they have Platters Half and Full size from Breakfast Burritos to Tacos to Dinner Burritos. The Interior of the Lobby is clean. The employee was mopping when we arrived. The Customer Service cant be beat. He even offered to Refill our Sodas for us. Now on to my Burrito. The Tortilla was a little tough when I first started cutting because i ordered mine smothered. Like someone cooked the tortilla a little to long and the end got tough. But once i got further in it was fine. The chicken was moist and packed with huge chunks. Fresh Green peppers packed it as well. The Spanish rice was moist and flavorful. And so were the beans with the cheese on top. After Reading some other reviews while I was waiting for my Dinner. You should know what to Avoid lol.

Great burritos! Just spicy enough to not compromise flavor. I like the mix if fries in the lunch ones but really like the breakfast burros best! One of the better options in town for breakfast burros without going to the hood. I agree with some other reviews that they have an identity crisis. Dump the american menu and focus on the mexican. Also, get a real oj. That one is worse than public school cafeteria. Better coffee would be good too!

My office ordered from Twisters last week. We got a 20 pack of breakfast burritos(4 different kinds) for $ 58.04 with tax making it a little less than $ 3 each. What a great deal, not many burrito places have packs like this because I have called around to check. I called ahead the day before and picked it up the next morning. I didn’t check each burrito, which maybe I should’ve because when I got to my office I counted only 19. I immediately called the restaurant and they were apologetic and made that burrito and delivered it to me(about 10 minutes away) right away. I felt like that was excellent customer service. I got a Chorizo, egg, potato, cheese, and green chile burrito and it was pretty good, could use a little more green chile but everything is already portioned out for them to make. They do not make their own tortillas(I saw packages of tortillas there) which is kind of a bummer. Oh they also threw in a brand new bottle of Tapatio hot sauce which was nice! I would order from here again.

Be careful… they ask if you want green chili, sour cream or lettuce and tomato(of course I do) but each is $ 1 extra! The burrito itself certainly didn’t live up to the«Best Burrito In Town» sign that is plastered on the front of their building. It was just a goopy mess.

Mediocre. Honestly, that’s about it. Tasted alright, but that isn’t enough to come back to. Even after several drinks at the bar next door, I wasn’t drunk enough to enjoy my meal. If it comes down to getting my foot cut off or eating here… I’ll eat here.

I should have known better and listened to the bad reviews of this place. When I order a bfast burrito with green chile, I fully expect to have GREENCHILE in it. The eggs and potato inside were decent but that’s hard to f**k up. They also put sausage and another unidentifiable meat product inside. Blahhhhh. I want my $ 4.29 back!

Yuck! Gross, greasy, tasteless, and very unappealing! I think this place is suffering from an identity crisis. Is it burgers? Is it taco’s? Is it burritos? Pick one thing and do it well!!! I was mad that I wasted $ 10 here when there was a Long Jon Silver’s up the street. I got the the California burger, it was truly tasteless and dripping with grease. By the time I was half way through it, it was falling apart from all the grease. The fries were the limpest, soggy things I’ve ever seen. The friend I was with, got some sort of burrito that just looked disgusting, like a mess on a plate. They did not even take the time to wrap the burrito correctly. He was also not pleased. I will not be back.

I like Twisters. I don’t love it. Their menu has a wide variety of things, all of which are served all day. I have ordered their trays for work meetings and also their breakfast burros. The breakfast burrito was HUGE, like, the biggest breakfast burro I’ve ever seen. Full of eggs and fried potatoes. I asked for it to be smothered in red and green chilis, which was tasty but strange. The green chili was a thin sauce more like a salsa. The red was spicy and tasted more like enchilada sauce. No meat in either. But…the amount of chili my burro was smothered in was laughable. Hardly any! The potatoes inside were crispy and yummy. They say they’re «pan-fried,» but I’m 95% sure that they’re deep-fried. I sat there waiting for about 10 minutes and I heard a whooooole lot of deep-frier action. How many people are ordering deep-fried anything at 9 am? Uh huh. That’s what I thought. Their large tray catering items are tasty and interesting but not incredibly authentic NM fare. The chili one time I ordered them was so hot that nobody at the meeting could eat it. That resulted in a lot of wasted food, unfortunately. If you’re in the neighborhood and looking for a cheap breakfast, by all means try it out. But it’s definitely not worth a drive across town.
