U Dirty Dog

We have been going to this place since they opened, but will not return after today’s experience, despite having several washes left on our punch card. Please be aware that they use bleach to clean the tubs and fail to properly rinse them after cleaning. I feel horrible that we exposed our dog to this harmful chemical. We discovered the residual bleach when both our shirts rubbed up against the tub in the process of washing our dog and immediately became discolored. Both shirts are now ruined; the owner gave us a check, which covered less than half of the value of what was damaged. Disappointed this business was sold; am sure the original owners would have made it right.

Warning — new ownership and it isn’t good. We were given an appointment time and they didn’t start bathing until at least two hours after that. They clipped his paws causing bleeding and so much unnecessary stress due to two hours in a cage in a new place. We had to help with the nail trimming which is not why we chose to pay someone else to do the work. He still has lots of hair that wasn’t brushed out. We honestly could’ve done a much better job ourselves. $ 40 later, we tried talking to the owner about our disappointment, wanting a partial or full refund and she refused to understand where we were coming from and blamed it on our dog not being the kind of dog that likes being groomed. I’m sorry, if our dog loved being groomed, we would do it ourselves. What kind of business blames the dog for the poor work done?
When the owner refuses to admit any wrongdoing, that’s a sign of a poor business owner. I strongly encourage you to take your pets elsewhere. Strongly encourage.

Admittedly, I typically bathe my dog at a self-​serve tub located within my dog’s daycare. One tub, few distractions. That being said, one room with several tubs, several dryers, and two groomers made for an extremely loud, unpleasant experience for both me and my dog. I guess this comes with the territory, but I will do my best to use my daycare’s tub from now on.

The service here was great! Even though it is «self-​serve» they help give you trips for using the sprayer, blowers and brushes. The shampoos and conditioners did as promised, my pup smells lovely and her coat is beautifully shiny. Super budget friendly prices as well. We will go back to this gem in Lakewood!

Loved the experience! Jeff who was working was super nice and helpful! Great find after a muddy hike with the dog! I’ve never seen the dog that clean and fluffy!
Only thing I do wish was that the dryers had a little heat to them. I felt like it took a little long to dry the pup with the cool air. But maybe this is for the dog’s safety, which makes sense.

Reasonable price and friendly folks!

Found this place through Unilocal and since my boyfriend and I live across the street from them we decided to give them a try. We were not disappointed. The person working there was very helpful and answered any questions we had. I also love that they give a multiple dog discount since I brought both of my boys in. Just a heads up to other dog owners, they do provide grooming but the groomer is not in on Sunday’s and you need to schedule an appointment with her. Otherwise if your dogs just need a quick wash, go right on in. My boys especially loved getting treats afterwards. Would recommend this place to anyone. They do have multiple size tubs for large, medium and small dogs but also have a tub lower to the ground, I’m assuming for dogs with joint pains or arthritis.

The ladies at Udirty Dog are very nice. My toy poodle loves this place. Devin does a wonderful job as a pet groomer. The concept of self– dog wash is amazing and they will assist you with anything you need. On the other hand; prices are fair. I wouldn’t take my dog anywhere else.

So, U Dirty Dog is right around the corner from my house and I was intrigued by the concept — washing your own dog for a very reasonable fee. I called after their closing time and the owner answered, was super friendly and invited me over anyway (afterhours). She walked me through the process, explained how they use high quality shampoos and conditioners and that they even have dog groomers available if I needed them in the future.
My dog is older and the owner offered their walk-​in tub (as opposed to walking up a small ramp) since my dog’s hips are getting bad. They have very clean tubs and just the right accessories to help bath the dog. The nozzle had good water pressure and the brush she gave me to lather the dog was amazing at taking off extra hair. My dog is a little finicky but didn’t seem to mind the process. I think she was more comfortable that I was doing it instead of a stranger. So I like the concept a better than just dropping your dog off at a groomer. However, it does take more elbow grease and I suggest wearing ratty clothes since you will get a little splash and dog hair on them.
The drain got clogged with hair a lot since my dog is a major shedder. But with regular wipes and throwing the hair in the convenient trash can, it was no problem. The only improvement I can provide was I was able to clean the side of the dog that faced me very well but the side against the tub on the other side didn’t get the same level of cleaning. I’m wondering if it would improve the process to rotate the dog ½ way through (primarily for big dogs)? Just a thought.
After wiping the dog down with absorbent towels, she took me over to the blow dryer area and we doubled up on blow drying her. The owner helped every step of the way to make sure everything went smoothly. I don’t know if I got an extra level of service since I came in after hours (please don’t intentionally schedule after hours since small business owners do need to sleep) but she was magnificent.
It was a great experience and I do plan to go back next time my dog needs a bath.

the people that run the place, own the place. the place is def not a corporate customer service feel. very homey and personal and mellow and real. price is great, competitive to any other place ive been. its nice and the equipment is beautiful. there is a very slight smell of bleach, but at least it doesnt smell like a rotten dog, like most places ive been to. they even accommodate skunked dogs by the way! i got help with my dog while i was bathing her. they answered all my questions, even gave me a treat to help bribe my dog to move her. very nice touch. i like how they have the table where you can blow dry the dog too. very classy. nice open, clean space, well lit, great location!
***no sulfates whatsover shampoos!!! none! all coconut base! **best part:)

This place is amazing, I went in having somewhat of an idea of what was going to happen. A little terrified I must admit that so, etching would go wrong. But it went so very smooth, the owner helped me get my small but scared Corgi in to the tub and out and over to the drying station. She was so helpful, giving me advice here and there tips on what may make the washing easier for both me and my dog. I will definitely be going back and telling my friends about it.

Nice to have a do-​it-​urself dog wash closer to my home! Very nice n clean facility-It’s nice to see when staff actually SANITIZES the tubs as well! Owner seems to work the shop her herself –very kind and attentive woman. Plenty of towels, brushes and shampoo/​conditioner choices available for different kinds of dog fur. I hope this place does well-​cuz I plan to take my dog there for every groom sesh!

Great place, very helpful and friendly staff and very clean! We will definitely be regulars here!
